Is this a 25 gallon tank? I have two clowns in my 20 gallon and people have told me I can’t add any other fish because they are too aggressive. How are all your fish getting along?

@@AG-tm4gr if you have an anenome then the clowns will stay near it and then you can add other fish because they won't fight for territory but make sure to keep it small and make sure its compatible

Congratulations for your Nano reef. It is just amazing!. I have one with the same liters but I cannot keep my corals the way yours look like. I like the easy way of maintenance you make. Do you think it is a good idea to buy the filter you use, better than a sump, skimmer, etc...or you use this filter only because you had it from your first tank of fresh water? I have not sknimmer and not sump and I was thinking in adding a sump and skimmer to my reef, but after watching your reef and the maintenance you do.....I am in crisis. Using Red Sea pro don't increase your Kh levels with every water change? Thanks for your help.

Thank you Manuel, I'm glad you like it. If you can definitely choose to use a sump, you have easy access to equipment and you can use a skimmer. I used the external filter because I didn't want to complicate things by drilling a hole in the aquarium for the overflow. If you still choose to use an external filter, I recommend that you pick the Oase Biomaster Thermo 600 or 850 , if you have space and fill it with biological media, such as Seachem Matrix. I chose to use Red Sea Coral Pro primarily because it is handy for me. Yes, after each water change the kH increased by about 1 dkH but it stabilized quite quickly in the following days. I always tried to keep the kH between 7-9 dkH and this salt helped me to have consistent values through the water exchanges. When the coral mass increased I had to supplement with Tropic All for Reef. I wish you best of luck. Keep me posted! ;)

If you could give some additional informations, I should appreciate: - which osmolator ATO do you use to maintain salinity ? - how much water do you change per week ? - do you clean seachem matrix media totally or partially in salt water every 2, 4 weeks or more? Thanks man! - I don't have an ATO system. I just use a 5 liter container with RO water from which I add daily to compensate for the evaporated water. - Initially I did a 20% water change every week but now, for more than half a year, I do water changes once every 2 weeks, 20% of the water volume of the aquarium - I rinse the Seachem Matrix (biological filter material) like twice a year. It is not necessary to do this more often because the external filter I use, Oase Biomaster Thermo 350 has a prefilter that can be cleaned individually without having to open the canister. I clean the pre-filter sponges very well every 2 weeks, when I change the water and vacuum the substrate. I hope you'll find my answers useful. ;)

Thanks! The spreading of GSP is not a problem for me, it never was. It's really very easy to keep it under control if you peel it off the rocks from time to time. Maybe in a bigger tank, if you get lazy, it can overgrow and become a problem.

Thank you! I'm glad that you find my tank inspiring. I clean the canister about every 5-6 months (so about twice a year , max 3 times). At the same time I change the Purfiltrum. I have two 100 ml bags that I exchange between them.

I'm planning to start a reef tank and also using a canister filter but was discouraged by some and encouraged by you and some other reefers who have amazing and successful tanks with canister filter. Another question if I may ask, is the pre-filter the only mechanical filter? And the rest in the canister are Seachem matrix (bio media)? Or do you still put some fine filter floss at the bottom layer? Appreciate it! Thanks!

@@ulureef8468 Yes, the prefilter is the only mechanical filtration I use. In my opinion the biological filtration is more important, the more the better! I don't have a Facebook or Instagram account especially for my aquariums, but you can find more pictures of my projects, here: www.flickr.com/photos/110605130@N03/albums The general maintenance is done without exceptions every 2 weeks when I thoroughly clean the glass and the pre-filter sponges, I vacuum the substrate very well (it’s really important to take out as much organic matter as possible during this process) and change 20% of the water volume. In the end I add bacteria using Aquavitro Seed and I also add Vibrant Liquid Aquarium Cleaner in order to prevent algae growth.

Yes, it is pretty noisy if you use it at full power. In fact it is enough to increase just one color channel to over 99% and the fan will go crazy. Therefore, I don't exceed 99% of any color channel and it's really quiet, barely hear it.

Multumesc! Ma ajuta schimburile de apa saptamanale (25% din volumul de apa al acvariului). Mai adug in timpul saptamanii impreuna cu apa de autocompletare Red Sea Reef Foundation B (kH/alcalinitate) si oligoelemente Dupla Marin Liquid trace element mixture.

@@florinionut2164 nu folosesc nici un senzor, am un bidon de 5 litri in care pun apa de osmoza si red sea reef foundation b , din care adaug zilnic "ochimetric" in acvariu. Kh - o buna perioada de timp l-am avut peste 9 -9.3 , de vreo 2 luni a coborat pe la 8 - 8.3. Cert e ca incerc ca valorile sa fie cat mai constante posibil si sa nu cobor niciodatata sub valoarea 8 pentru ca atunci vad imediat efectele asupra coralilor (decolorare, lipsa hidratarii, etc) PO4 - nu am masurat nicioadat! Ca- este undeva intre 420-440 Densitatea - 1.025 - 1.026 ( masor foarte rar cu densiometru, nu am refractometru), folosesc aceeasi sare Red Sea Coral Pro de la inceput si practic doar cataresc cantiatea de sare necesara conform indicatiilor lor si o dizolv la cantitatea de apa. Nu e zice e cea mai safe varianta, doar e cea mai comoda iar eu sunt un tip foooooarte comod.

Pt PO4 este fosforul din apa care se formează multe alge cand ajunge la un nivel de 1 mg /l ,pt pO4 mâncarea seaca este foarte periculoasa , imaginează-ți ca doar 5g de mâncare poate mări pO4 de la nivelul normal de 0,1mg/l la 0,5mg/l. De câți l este acvariul?
