I like it how the magical girl basically goes limiters-released, safety-off, full-clip, friendly-fire-off, dispersal pattern beta, no-holds-barred approach with what is basically a MAGICAL SPLASH FLARE nuke.
The thing that's even scarier about this is that it's only a Divine Buster. Nanoha has bigger spells in her arsenal; she's just trying to avoid using them so her core doesn't get overburdened again.
@@pfeilspitze Divine Buster actually uses Nanoha's own magical reserves and is one of her most strenuous spells. Starlight Breaker *can* be a more powerful spell, but it requires her to draw from the residual magic in the surroundings.
@gamenernelite1826 true.... and thats kinda hard for her in this clip since I'm pretty sure theirs an active amf (anti magic field) up in the ship, so.... if she's gonna overkill anything its gonna be that amf... if she hits the one who's done pissed her off most in the process then... 2 birds one stone
Nanoha: “In summary, ears ringing, jaw fractured, three ribs cracked, four broken, ship devastated. Full physical recovery: 6 weeks. Full psychological recovery: unlikely. Ability to kidnap and brainwash my daughter: neutralised.”
I LOVE this moment. Nanoha has spent the whole time fighting Vivio, who is the embodiment of a living magical nuke, and holding her own. And when her Long Range Search finds Quattro, she realizes Nanoha has been HOLDING BACK the entire time, focusing on the search and the fight simultaneously. She sees Nanoha's magic charge up on her screen, and realizes she done f****d up making Nanoha of all people go full-on mamma bear. The casual binding of aforementioned magic nuke, blasting through many reinforced doors of a warship the size of a city (made better in the film version, where her stomp completely shatters the floor), using Divine Buster instead of Starlight Breaker means she's using her own reserves for the attack and not the residual magic in the area, while still holding the restraint to be non-lethal shows why you shouldn't try and fight the Ace of Aces.
isnt there also something about the ship they are fighting in having an anti magic field also that's been sapping her strength the entire time shes been on the ship as well?
Yep all that in an anti magic field(though overpowering such fields is possible since it disrupts any magic in it and makes it harder to cast any magic ) Nanoha is a full on monster and this is after she got her potential crippled by overworking herself so hard the doctors though she would never walk again let alone cast magic
I admit i didn't even know there WAS a film version of Strikers i thought only the first two seasons got turned into films and then two mostly original films were made
@@MDKGunner i think they meant the Blu-Ray/DVD version. BUT there is a currently not yet fully announced Nanoha Animation Project in production afaik which could be the movie version of Strikers (they even could use the end of Detonation for the time Nanoha got shot down). If you look at it during Reflection/Detonation they probably planned a Strikers movie(s) since a few Strikers only characters actually had an apearance
1:07 That moment when the survival instinct finaly breaks through the shock and kicks in... but it's too late... ...it was too late from the very beginning.
reminds me of an old piece of fanart of the three girls solving a maze. The ever proper and serious Fate goes through it the normal way, the clever and sneaky Hayate considers the white space outside as a part of the puzzle and goes around the outside, and then Nanoha just goes straight through.
@@GeorgeMonet Not everyone are befriended after be shot by her with her Divine buster or her Starlight breaker, those are main evil are be set to jail and the machine be hit by it are destroyed, only those who be reform are become befriended!, like She shot a evil from dragon ball like freeza, he will not befriended but more be K.O*ok i Freeza is monsterieuse powerful but his eco will make him lose, plus Nanoha a need more training to Knock out freeza or she do it with Goku, Starlight breaker and Spirit bomb, the only freeza she can beat by her own is freeza First form, not the other form, she will not Goku help* well i like i say, only main evil be not befriended and only those who can be reform are the one befriended!
From the TV Tropes page "Oh Crap" (which uses Quattro's freak out face as the god damn PAGE IMAGE): "Quattro tries to re-assure herself that she's safe within the ship. Then she remember WHO she is dealing with, WHAT said person is capable of, and panics at the knowledge she plans to take the shortest route there."
I love how it plays with the other details. I don't know exactly what the sensor Quattro has up is monitoring, but we know it going active like that is very bad. She knows there is a strong anti-magic field on the ship, but sees the readings and goes beyond fear and into full on terror. And THEN they mag dump 5 rounds into her attack when we've seen 1 round be enough to dominate a fight. And Nanoha isn't even at full power level. They only did a partial limit release on the squad, which was probably negated by the anti-magic field.
@@Halinspark Nanoha used the Blaster System which enhances her and Raising Heart's powers beyond their limits. But, it gives a very huge toll on both of them in exchange of the incredible power boost.
@@joshuaamadeusishak1887true.... i wounder if the amf helpes alleviate the burden somewhat of her going pretty much all out with devine buster in buster 3 mode
@@blazesona12 No. AMF makes magic based attacks to be less effective or even useless, so, it doesn't decrease the burden a mage would get from using a powerful spell like Divine Buster. In fact, this much power and enhancement makes it impossible for the AMF to completely neutralize it and even weakening it just a bit doesn't change the fact that the target is done for once it hit them.
Only after she saved her beloved daughter, Nanoha took a different route to Fate when it came to kids, Fate was more hands off, thou in the Strikers series, you get to see how kind she has become!
Strikers is kinda sad because after all the drama, introducing all new characters and focusing on them for most of the time, the struggles and the failures. Ultimately It basically boiled down to Nanoha saying - "OK, i'ma gonna try now" ='D
If you look at Strikers Rationally: The whole point of Lighning and STARS squad was to nerve Nanoha. We learned that there is a max in Rank that each group in this military can have. So why add more people into it? Without them they would not even need to put limiters on the main people. But then we get to know that everyone of the OG team is constantly wary of Nanoha overworking herself and fixated on protecting her (especially Vita) because of that time that essentially left Nanoha crippled because of being overworked and thus reacting fractions of a second to slow. So of course they have to wait for an actual all out war to undo the limiters (and we see after that fight what state Nanoha is in when using up most of her magic, having it hard to even walk; I think it was said in out of Universe information that she never healed from her injuries but basically uses her magic to cheat her state, like moving her legs with her magic). Thats something i prefer in the movie versions compared to the normal series version: It actually shows that Nanoha is struggling after these fights. (heavy breathing, sluggish movements, actually needing someones help to move around in Detonation)
its been 14 years damn I really like this anime all three of it plus the movies, and still waiting for another one damn I want to see Strike Cannon and Fortress equipped Nanoha in action....
They reused Fortress and Strike cannon (with other names, but you can clearly recognise them) in the Reflection/Detonation movies. And yes, you see them in action there.
Being honest, its League of Legend that more or less stole her attack. Lux is literally Nanoha but with Marisas Master Spark rainbow color patterns instead of pure pink. (It also is too thin(About only like 1.5m diameter from the looks of it) and only flashes, while either Master Spark, Divine Buster or SLB would have lasted at least a second.) But League of Legend specifically has also said that quite some of their designs take inspiration from places, so at least they never tried to hide it.
@@lukasjuszczak1664 Unfortunately we may never know what happens if you land a Giga Slave or Laguana Blades full destructive potential on just some really unfortunate town.
If they were not being held back by laws that limit their magic, Nanoha and Fate would probably knock down all the antagonists in this season on first encounter. Well, they never actually got to see most of them face to face in battle because the four recruits were the ones tanking most of the first encounters and beyond.
And bear in mind, the Saint's Cradle was designed to shunt magical power within it, meaning that what hit Quattro was _maybe_ about 20-25% of the whole payload.
The first two seasons of Nanoha did get a dub, Nanoha and Nanoha A's. However, Strikers and everything made afterwards never got dubbed. At this point I'm not sure if there will ever be a dub for Nanoha Strikers and beyond
And then there's FLEIJA. 35 million people killed (10 million of whom were simply vaporized) in one shot. Needless to say, you're not getting back up after getting hit by one of those bad boys. The fact that Quatro survived the shot (for a second or two anyway) severely tarnishes the epicness. But it does make you wonder what would've happened if Nanoha used Starlight Breaker... at full power... without the AMF.
A full power Starlight Breaker would've pushed Quattro past "befriended" territory and into "madly in love" territory. Starlight Breaker is the sole reason why Nanoha and Fate are a couple.
