This is absolutely true. And the woman on the microphone confused many forced errors by Barty with unforced errors. The commentator did not realize that many times Barty received strong balls extremely near her which did not allow Barty to react on time. Also, Osaka has a quite complicated second serve, since the ball comes high, with spin, and almost directly to the body of the opponent. This was also oversight by this female commentator. Such overestimation of unforced errors for Barty depreciated in excess her performance and did not objectively value Osaka's performance.
Businessrules and policy, Part of the brainpolish and control the mindsetting, western media is not supposed to cheer for non western country or players. Even with Naomi who is the more interesting player, her actions are many times ignored, while you hear the crowd shouting, they talk about Barty or something outside the match.
It has been always this way. Even serena venus despit representing america faced it in first decade of career. Naomi who is representing asian country and is of mixed race, these commentators will never credit her. But she remains the most successfull and marketable superstar of her generation. N these people can stay salty
I agree, and it's disappointing. I love what Ashleigh Barty brings to women's tennis, but Naomi's awesome ball-striking is just as much fun to see, and her personal story is every bit as moving. We had two fine young people and players on that court, and they both deserve notice.

Ash Barty is overrated, she plays tennis in slow motion 🤣🤣🤣 she only wins a grand slam when other players are injured. She would get destroyed now by the young players like raducanu and Fernandez.

First set, Osaka was so demoralized and she was about to lose the whole game but when her coach talked to her, results changed....... Congratulations Japanese Tennis Mistress.
Part of the reason there have been soo many different winners in the past 8 years is that this tournament is at the end of the year and players are tired. No matter who you are the grind of the year will catch up with you and sometimes you can pull through it and sometimes you can't.
Listen to the Australian Open 2019 and 2021...the commentary no different....certainly not Osaka fans...she doesn’t need their approval..she goes on to win anyway. Is it any wonder the girl withdrew from the French Open. Her parents are always there supporting their girl!!!!
Love those commentators who understand the game . And and understand whom to favour when it comes on the good player in the court. They probably couldn’t handle the drama as well . In the end Barty handle her lost beautifuly. Well done Barty !!
If only Naomi was not injured after Kvitova match in Shenzhen ..who knows what could had happened .. the only thing I noticed here was the Chinese are not really for Naomi side .maybe becoz of Li Na's record..I hope Naomi win another GS so that she can only be the Asia's best to date..

Naomi exposed barty's backhand like nothing and she has better forehand as well. Naomi's game has bigger peak than both barty and andreescu. She gets ready for such matches. Thats why i see her ending with most slams from her generation.

Naomi shots made her go for it and thats why she had that errors bcoz she couldn't beat naomi in baseline battle simple. Naomi has bigger game and better player. Excuses not gonna work

Ten months ago most people would have chosen Naomi to leave the game. Today it is Barty who is spent and Naomi seems to be fortifying herself for the tour. You never know what you dont know.
It is odd that this match is being uploaded before the Osaka vs Andreescu match - guaranteed to get the most views. PS: Barty lost this match so it seems shady by the WTA to upload this when she just won the finals title....
The backhand slice of Barty doesn't look so effective in her shots as Samantha Stosur's doesn't neither. Accordingly, she rarely gets points from her backhand while her forehand is amazing.
Mushman Peets poc kids don’t make up the majority in most asian countries, there’s likely only a handful. Don’t think it makes sense to go out of the way to find a poc child when any child would be just fine no matter their ethnicity. There’s no political/social statement with that selection
You clearly don’t watch her. She is an aggressive baseliner. She has lots of power. Just because she doesn’t come out all guns blazing like Ostapenko doesn’t mean she lacks power. Plus the China courts are slower than other courts which is why the rallies are slightly longer
