@@ntvm4749 I know it’s a joke but to add more details Many of his soldiers died in typhus and dysentery than the winter itself By the time the Le grand armee was at borodino the French had around 131k men Before the invasion of Russia Napoleon had 500+k men but why? Overstretch lines and some forces had to split to cover the rear and flanks There are 250-300k French soldier and 70k other allies and 90-150k from Schwarzenberg.
Many mistakes in the depiction of historical figures' personalities and events. Same goes with his videos about the french revolution (depticting Robespierre as a bloodthristy maniac is a huge mistake !). But still, he opens up history to a broader audience, which is always a good thing
@@elmascapo6588 no ,because, firstly, He was a hypocryte. He is the guy who have that sentence , dead to the kings, tattooed on his chest. Secondly, he made a deal with the former sweden king to become his adopted son and ,furthermore, he backstabbed napoleon to keep his crown after the russian napoleon campain. For murat, the archiduc of austria backstabbed Murat, because he wanted the kingdom of two sicile crown back to him.
I think Napoleon's downfall was the continental system. Like what did he expect? Russia, one of the biggest empires of that period, to just submit to French Rule? Nah, fam. That being said, it is unlikely that Napoleon could have won the Napoleonic Wars because the only thing that could have saved him was the continental system; however, if most of the people in the system were forced into it and don't like Napoleon, then he was doomed to fail.
Napoleon was a better military leader than Caesar (there’s a military ranking called WAR: Wins above Replacement and Napoleon ranks first with 17,000 points. Second is Caesar, far behind with 7,000 points...). And unlike Caesar, Napoleon did non-military things too: reforms in the legal, administrative, economic, educational domain.
Best spot to attack russia actually is central asia, taking kazakastan exposes russia belly not only that but central asia is a mixture of hot tempature to the south and north being mild or cold, this and the fact that there is oil expanding the south, if you cutt of russia land to the east it makes it hard for the russian to fall back, only problem is that russia infastructure is shit and many tree clogging pathway while russian are one hell of a fighter and only will collapse if they suffer major attrition, holding russia too will just lead to rebellion peforming guerilla warfare at you and weakening morale and stability so russia gonna be hard
@@travelleryu yeah but the fighting was not in actual russia, just in manchuria mainly, and they did not take russian land, also the russian empire was very unstable but stalin did a major campaign on complete unity of the soviet people, which he succeded in bringing morale up
Neither Napoleon nor the Third Reich invaded in winter. The Grande Armée crossed the Niemen River into Russia on June 24, 1812; and Operation Barbarossa began on June 22, 1941, with the Luftwaffe bombing Soviet held cities in Poland.
@@bladeshockk993 Okay, I wrote a long answer but dear YT deleted it, presumably because I used the evil mustache man's name. Sigh. Too lazy to write it again, so short answer: They didn't invade earlier because they thought they wouldn't need more time. Napoleon wanted a quick battle to crush the Russian army, force them into a favorable peace, then be off before winter. He underestimated their unwillingness to submit to him again (they virtually destroyed and burned down their own country rather than make peace). Mr. H., on the other hand, wanted to occupy Russia permanently for its natural resources and industrial capacity and expected a quick collapse of their defenses, but he underestimated the resistance they would offer. The Germans advanced as far as the outskirts of Moscow but never took the city. The Russians held at the cost of five times as many casualties, but they held.
*When you enter Moscow to find out there's nothing of value there after losing half of your army trying to get to it at Borodino and Winter is coming.*
@@appleslover yes we are the most attractive people in Europa for Japan and Asian culture. We love's Asian in France because we think Asian people are working man and woman, respectful and like so much french culture and European culture.
@@appleslover Yeah France is the second country in the world in terms of manga sales (after Japan), which is crazy considering that their population is of 66M only if I'm not wrong.
They are not comparable at all... it’s an anachronism and it just shows your lack of understanding of Napoleon. How can you compare someone who tried to wipe out a whole religion when Napoleon was the first monarch in Europe to give equal rights to Jews?
Napoleon is about to take over Moskva Russians burn it Napoleon: Napoleon about to take sea and invade Britain His entire navy gets destroyed by a British ship Napoleon: Frick it I’m adding something else to this Napoleon sets rabbits free for a rabbit hunt Napoleon gets mauled by rabbits Napoleon:
Napoleon: UK, I have risen to be come a legend... The legend that you fear... UK: No you fucking don't! *124 years later* Hitler: UK, I have risen to become a legend... The legend that you fear... UK: Have we been here before? I feel like we've been here before...
@@loiseaunoir7528 You are right, that disaster destroyed the majority of Napoleon's veteran army. But even then during the German campaign Napoleon had the Coalition on the ropes or at least was stalemating them. Leipzig ended Napoleon's chance at turning back the tide. Russia certainly was the powder keg though.
Yes he was corsican etnically wich is probably close to italien but doesn't change the fact that was a french citizen and adopted french rules so for everyone who want to feel better about someone etnicity dont the fact that he accomplice all that is because he adopted the french values so in theory yes he is corsican but also french and what just because youre lets say an indian idk cant you adopt to western values ofcourse you can everyone can but in napoleons case he was european and europeans have a lot in common so if an outsider from lets say china wants to become some one like napoleon in europe its kinda imposible because the asian culture differes a lot from the west
