Back in 2016 I had the ultimate pleasure of attending the $$$ show in Phoenix. A couple of months later, I was diagnosed with AML Leukemia. Right around the same time that Eternal Grey was released. I remember hearing Ruby say “I be that seventh ward dragon, make a wish I’ll fuckin grant it.” A year later the MakeAWish foundation sent me, my kid’s mom, and my parents out to Chicago for a week to attend Lalapalooza and meet the $uicideboy$. Kicked it with them before they went on stage in their trailer and let me tell you, probably the most kind and down to earth people I’ve ever met to this day. Being right behind the fireworks on stage was fucking dope. Nothing but love for the Grey til beyond the day that I’m slain ❤️🔥
@@chloemonica3349 The worst experience of my life was definitely repaid with the best experience of my life. Aside from seeing my daughter be born. And thank you, as far as I know yuh, I’m aaaiiightttt
its lowkey sad hearing scrim say “he definitely didnt get in touch with my family” knowing the side of 59 he was on vs ruby is so heartbreaking and then ruby hypin him up when nard said sum bout him was jus heartwarming
love how they slowly start opening up and joking the longer the interview goes on, they’re looking so healthy I love it. The boys are levelling up constantly mane
i said the same shi to my friend who i used to watch old interviews with. they’re just so much brighter now, even with the mask Scrim looks like he has so much more life in him.
I admire these guys so much. I finally got to see them live with my lil sister last week in Cincy. They and Ghostmane did not disappoint. I really don't know where my life would be at if I never found their music.
I've been living under a rock and I'm just now discovering the suicide boys and ghostemane. I'm so sad that they just came to Cincinnati and I didn't even know who they were. And now I'm totally in love I can't wait until they come back!!!
The thing I love about Nardwaur is no matter who the artist is or what genre they're on, he treats every artist like they're the biggest celebrity in the world "you are ..... we have to know this!" love the guy.
@@q4creator297 yet they are very very underated with only a handful of fans unfortunately, i still cant believe they got only 1 song platinum which is the "for those who i love thanks for sticking around"
Scrim: "He ain't got shit on me" Nardwuar, pride bruised, insulted, evolving in real time: "Here's a photo of your baby brother, who produced beats for you, who you also coached in basketball"
It's nice seeing ruby and Scrim getting back into the spot light with a positive and sober mind. I Seen them grow thru the years and they deserve everything! I've been praying for a Suicide Boys interview bcuz there's not so many out there. Nardwaurd answered my prayers! lol
I love everything about this interview. It would be awesome if Scrim actually sampled this interview 😂 this is also the most gifts I’ve ever seen Nardwuar gift anyone. Scrim’s eyes look full of light and life. You can tell they love each other like brothers. G*59 forever. ❤
Dude hearing them sober is incredible compared to their older interviews where they just sounded zooted. Congrats to them and im happy they change like they’re still raw
That 2016 tour was crazy. The fact yall only made $7,000 and that made you feel like you made it shows the character. These guys will forever be one of the top of our generation
As a jazz musician that averaged $1000 a month when on tour. $7000 in 1 month is pretty good. There are blue grass and jazz musicians in the south that dont get to tour and earn about $500 a month if lucky. Jazz ensembles offer a pretty steady flow of income but you actually have to understand theory and how to mesh with an ensemble, so basically its gatekept by the top 20% of band kids but they’re all old. im 26 and still the youngest person in my group.
@@Cross_networkDid u rly just compared jazz tour through some small cabarets with Suicideboys tour with one of the hardest albums they ever dropped ? Bruh. I m not saying 1k is what u deserved but they deffinitely could make more than 7k with how that tour looked.
@@SAINT_SPYRO money making is money making. Dont feel some type of way just because you wanna be a fan boy. I’ve been known of scrim before you even knew where Louisiana was on a map.
I love the reaction that $crim had at @14:27 you could see the moment he realized how good nardwar is at his job. He went from entertained to amazed. Amazing. 👏 ❤
I'm so glad they did this interview. Nardwaar is incredible at what he does and it's so refreshing to hear scrim and ruby's stories/experiences 🙏 appreciate all three of you ❤️
Seeing them both so alive and better than ever makes me the happiest in the world, their music saved me and now to see them smiling and laughing and doing what they love with clean slates and for me too makes me feel so proud of them 🖤
$uicideBoy$, Bones, and ghostemane is what carried me through high school during the hard times. Still my favorite artists till this day. (amongst others like night lovell)
I'm happy you're here to possibly answer a question? Did listening to these artists have any kind of affect or opinion on you regarding religion or spirituality?
@@Mr.beansholidayyeah i was the wave but now i feel the tide pullin back ocean flat often i lay in this coffin sleep on my back toss a couple of em back🗣️
I love how real they are. Never signed to a huge label or even showed interest to do so. That's what any artist who cares about the art and not about the money should do.
I love this. I love them. I love nardwuar. You’re genuinely care about the ppl u interview. And the boys. I can’t get over how much they’ve grown. It’s so amazing. From crowded underground shows to selling out fucking arenas. They truly deserve every huge accomplishment they get ❤
man love seeing them relive through past memories and how far they've come since then, these two have helped me get through some of my lowest parts of my life!
These two guys saved my life and I’m sure they’ve done the same for MANY others. I’m so happy that we are here now watching naurdwar interview them. G59 to the grave.
It’s been wild watching these guys come up. I finally got to see them in Nashville after I lost my little brother and it was bittersweet because he was supposed to be there with me and I was struggling fuckin hard to stay sober. It was definitely the experience I needed even tho I hate Nashville being from Memphis. It’s just good to see them get the recognition they deserve and scrim holding onto something good in life.
That sounds like a really hard thing to go through. I lost my best friend of 10ish years a couple years ago and they helped me through it. I hope you are doing okay
@@Truth5eeker33 they slowly gettin more but they still not gettin the same respect as others. me as someone who saw them grow up for the past 7 years seeing them being on nardwuar now just makes me so happy. This such a big step
@@benchase192 literally. they helped me gettin sober too. I was so fucked up back then but their music gave me so much energy, especially the new albums like sing me a lullaby. So happy they’re sober now and outta here gettin bigger and bigger. G59 till the grave is all I gotta say.
These guys are at their best, sober, musically and all. At this point they can make any music they want and im all for it. Been a fan since 2015 and these guys are better and better with every release. Love those two. $uicideboy$ 4ever
this was an immaculate video and interview, they gradually opened up more and more were genuinely comfortable when they usually have massive walls up nardwuar man…. this is 111/10 loved how surprised they were at their gifts, so cute 😭😭😭
I lost my cousin and we were brothers just like these two. I lost him to drugs and alcohol I love these guys. My cousin was everything to me and we were around the same age as scrim and ruby. If I didn’t have this music pumping in my ears running 100s of miles trying to get over the pain, ruby and scrim saved my life with there music. This interview was fire. Water birds a duck.
@@odis19 I think the fault more lies on Scrimmy’s fam and he knows it, that’s why he said “definitely.” If nard was able to get in contact, he would’ve. He never slips for his interview prep.
Bro these guys are fucking sick! I love them so much more now. Razor guarding my heel is still one of my favorite albums to this day listen to it almost every other day
These two are like the only artists today who haven't changed who they are because of the money and fame. I wish em all the best. And the canada goose is my favorite waterfowl, thanks for asking
@@aaronbeardsley3261es they changed they got sober yes they have money yes they probably don’t like it but you like to assume since you act like you know em personally 😂🙄
