@@flapstick_101 you are just looking for something that isn't there. He went on Talib Kwelis podcast, someone he has tons of respect for, and threw up on the show drunk.
Malibu. I'm too poor to actually do anything in that city but I take my girl out there pretty frequently. It's absolutely gorgeous. Even the little crappy apartment complexes have the most stunning ocean views because the city is really narrow so it's basically just one main street, a hillside and a long strip of beach.
I'm not gonna lie, I prefer this version of Peggy during interviews. He always has something interesting and worthwhile to talk about, but him being drunk sometimes takes away from the quality of the message.
Not sure I can recall another interview where Nardwuar was this clearly excited and invigorated just to be around the artist. Such a joy to watch this :]
Knowing Peggy, he is most definitely actually gonna use the sample suggestions from Nardwuar unlike all the other artists that say they will but never do.
Its also got a lot to do with sample clearings. Sometimes it migjt not be worth it to them to try and clear with the estates. Maybe they send it to him personally instead of releasing it publicly
This was one of the coolest interviews Nardwar's ever done with an artist. I mean, Peggy was definitely the nicest to nardwar and sheit. Such a mutual respect that the background fitted perfectly. Great interview, great human beings
@@sa-mp5iw Regardless of how anybody feels about Drake, the hour long interview is one of the best Nardwuar interviews. Plus Drake seems like he enjoys talking and conversing so it was a very insightful interview too.
Went to an audio engineering school with Peggy in 2018 right before he really blew up. He came in one day like 2 weeks before the program was over and said he was going to LA for some shows. He never came back to school and the rest is history haha - love you Barry 💜
Hey man thats actually really dope to know!! What course was it, like, just “audio engineering”? Summer course or some years-long-level diploma? Very curious about what peggy would go study circa 2018 since the man was already making some incredible music way before that. If u could talk a bit more would be awesome!!! thanks in advance bro 🙏
Peggy completely built himself from the ground up. When he was 25, he was still working multiple jobs and making no money from his music. Nardwuar also completely built this platform himself, so I think there’s the mutual respect that they each made it without needing others to lift them up.
@@FuzzTheMuzz I felt the same way, but after watching A Man Named Scott on Prime, I think he was just a depressed coke head who needed to get drugs at the same time as the interview. Either way Cudi failed big time.
@@FuzzTheMuzz if you’re talking about what i think you’re talking about, cudi was at a really low point during that interview and nuardwar bringing up his recently deceased uncle triggered some stuff and cudi couldn’t do the interview anymore. it’s understandable
10:34 "You're the legend; I have to talk to you" is a total parallel to Nardwuar's "You're (artist's name); we have to know!" Peggy is so happy to do this interview and he totally knows his shit. I'm loving this so much
Hey this was fantastic. I’m a big fan of Peggy but have never seen this upbeat, positive side of him. And also have never seen a truly conversational side of Nardwaur. I really enjoyed this, thank you!
Watch that Fantano interview I feel he was positive in that one. And even in his youtube series where Peggy would just have fellow artists over and play them somgs off of all my heroes
I have a feeling it's because Nardwuar is one of the most respected interviewer in the industry. Half the comments on this video can keep saying "oh it's because he's sober", but a lot of interviews with artists can just be set up for press and revolve around the same questions every time, feeling pretty forced. Nardwuar takes the time to make sure the interview is in depth, which most artists can see it's a sign of respect that he would take the time to do this.
Bruh Nardwuar is extremely underrated as a crate digger. I bet if you took him and like 9 of the top sampling producers and DJs like Premier, alchemist, shadow etc, and gave them a list of obscure records they have to go across the world to find, my money would be on nardwuar
we're so blessed to have nard with us, he survived a stroke! if he had retired i would have not questioned it at all and yet he keeps going and giving us great content. protect nardwuar at all cost!
The best part of a Nardwuar interview is when he leaves the guest saying, "How did you know that?", then just blows it off and continues rummaging through their past
I had no idea I needed this today. Mad respect to JPEG to give a good heartfelt interview like that. And Nards was so exited, it's great to see him still rocking in the free world after all these years. Stay strong, mad love ✌️
Jpeg already gives the best interviews, and we know Narduar is the king; this is just a match made in heaven. Im so happy Peggy got to do this, I met him all the way back when Veteran dropped and he really is just a genuinely good dude who never expected to blow up the way he has, even though we all know his talent is on another planet. Truly a beautiful moment.
This new album with Danny Brown is just incredible. Both JPEG and Danny's production keeps getting better. Both have alway been amazing, but are getting better in all aspects
Fantastic interview, Peggy seems like such a cool dude and I loved his message at the end. Also loved the Mort Garson shoutout. But, ngl, I spent the whole interview worried and scared that those records were gonna fall into the sea.
@@robertrodriguez6359 weird RU-vid guy from a few years ago started it. Don’t know where he’s at now but he started a discord and allowed a ton of fucked up stuff to happen including spread of cp while basically encouraging it.
Fr this was one of the few nardwur interviews where the atmosphere wasn't stiff or awkward it just seems like a naturally comfortable convo between the two w nothing forced
I met him a long time ago when he was opening for Injury reserve. he was super nice. so was injury reserve, but it as super cool to meet them all. rip groggs
Can we all appreciate how thankful and appreciative Peggy was during this interview? Most of Nardwuars guests don’t use their manners when they get gifts, this was refreshing
*I don't know what's more impressive. Nards continuous content, year by year..decade to decade....or his and his team's connections to get the gifts, that are often times, hard to get, but also sentimental and connected to those that are being interviewed. We love you, Nard.*
I skipped seeing the Roots headline a local music festival a few years ago so I could go across town and see JPEGMAFIA open for Injury Reserve. RIP Stepa
That Mort Garson record (Music from Patch Cord Productions) is so good! Solid gift, Nard. There's a sick tshirt out for it too. Same art as the album cover. Mort was a pioneer and an occultist, and that vibe really comes through in this album and in The Unexplained. What an amazing gift, I'm so glad jpeg enjoys it.
Nardwuar interviews are great!! I think the timing of this interview is great too. jpeg is gonna keep on growing as an artist. This is history in the making. Greetings from chile🇨🇱🍻
The one and only Butter Milk Jesus! Loved how this interview feels different to all other Nardwuar interviewer. Also the likelihood that he’ll actually sample something here is strong.
went on a college trip to london for the last 3 days and they didnt tell us what we were doing but one of the things was seeing this guy live. almost none of us had heard of him but we all fucken loved it and all have him on our playlists now. had no idea he was so big
Peggy has got to be one of the coolest rappers out there. Could rant about this dude for ages. Just the energy right off the bat between the two was fucking stellar. Great interview
@@kairoslonelystar sure. Their early stuff from the 80's is insane. Check out the albums 1. CLEANSE, FOLD AND MANIPULATE 2. MIND: THE PERPETUAL INTERCOURSE. 3. BITES 4. REMISSION. Warning: IT'S DEFINATELY NOT FOR EVERYONE. Oh, the 90's albums LAST RIGHTS And TOO DARK PARK are crazy too.
