Yes but it seems he finally getting the recognition he deserves. In earlier interviews EG Sonic Youth and Nirvana they look at him like an annoyance but in recent interviews everyone seems to recognise his talent as an interviewer (and allegience to "The People" shout out Khaled)!
It's also kind of a mark of your legitimacy in the underground to land an interview with Nardwuar. He doesn't just interview the people that are getting really popular or that are on their way to the mainstream - he interviews the artists (especially with the rappers imo) that have actual respect from hip hop nerds. He rarely does an interview with a lame sellout artist and there's lots of super popular artists that he doesn't interview probably because he doesn't think they're very good. I think the musicians understand this now - they know he has really good taste and that his following is a bunch of music nerds with high standards. But yeah Narduar has been around for a long time. I think he was probably even more popular in the 90s and 00s than he is now. Still love him though, and he's as good as he's ever been at doing these dig-deep interviews. I really want to know how he does it though because a lot of the time the stuff he brings up isn't even on the internet anywhere, and it's always obvious that the musician has no idea how he finds out what he did. He must be calling up personal friends and family or something..

It really really is. She brings up being a fan of Lauryn Hill and I'm a big fan of Hill as well. But if we're being totally honest, there's not a lot of really good quality female rappers, for whatever reason. It's a shame and I've been waiting a long time for a woman to rise to the level of Lauryn Hill in terms of rapping ability. IMO Little Simz is BETTER than Lauryn Hill, and mind you that's a very big compliment coming from me because I think Hill is one of the best.
Little Simz is an absolute gem. I was stunned when Alex Grey came up. As someone who spent a long time being big into Tool, I've got some psychedelic connections to Alex Grey's work and once considered getting a full back tattoo of Theologue (the piece she mentioned).
