Narrative Telephone Round 2 Ep. 5: Questions & Quackery 

I really hope that Travis does a Narrative Telephone as Sprinkle, telling the tale of all the trauma and horror his life is.

Liam's so deviously clever, by telling a rambling, confused story to begin with, nobody's gonna be wrong, but everybody's wrong at the same time.

*Seductive Vax stare* *Puts on glasses* "HEY! IT'S ME, BUDDY!" Liam you tricky son of a witch.

Narrative telephone is like the cast is passing a bowl of water, filled to the brim with details and flavour, and each person after the original storyteller just spills a bunch of it, the first person to retell it usually being the most. Sam, however, at the end of his turn decides that he spilled too much water, says fuck it and just replaces a small amount of the water that he spilled by pissing in the bowl.

During Liam's story all I could think was "Liam, you evil genius" He's got all these details that have no connection and starts and stops stories only to start different ones and later come back to the first ones.

Liam O’Brien getting distracted and calling me pretty over and over again? My day is improved so much.

Liam: "I'm Buddy the Ogre" Ashley: "I'm Macho Man Randy Savage" Marisha: "I'm Bill Cosby" Sam: "I'm Buddy the Elf" Laura: "MANCUBUS!"

Idk how, but Liam decisively created one of the most adorable characters in Critical Role canon out of a gigantic, half-blind ogre. Bravo Liam, Buddy is the Critical Role equivalent of a basket of kittens.

I think the real tragedy is how we didn’t lose the story. But how we lost Sharon the duck. Rest in power Sharon. 2021-2021

Liam O'Brien is such an incredibly talented voice actor like... the ogre grunt noises he does, the way he convinces you that buddy is such a loveable idiot despite the genius that Liam is. I love him so much.

Every time Buddy calls me pretty I legitimately blush. Liam started with like three broken stories knowing the cast would try to glue them together in a way that could make sense, and seeing as they lost all three stories it worked brilliantly

Hazel told me I should use her copper pot, crank action gragamatic for this so we can listen to it later. Cause, uh, it traps your voice inside. But you still have your voice but it’s also in there, yeah. Terry told me I should tell you guys a story of how macaroni and I first met. I don’t remember why. Something to do with, uh... Oh hey do you guys know how to get rid of ducks. My friend Lionel he has all these ducks. And, uh, he had to go on a mission with some of the others to spy on something called, uh... circus boss assembly. And he asked me if I could watch ‘em because I got such good eyes, yeah. Anyway I was just supposed to babysit them by their pond but they all followed me home. And came to me in my next place and now they don’t want to go home, and I don’t want to get in trouble with Lionel, or with macaroni. Oh but I like those ducks though. I named them all. There’s uh... Chester, quackers, Steve, reggie, uh, Percival Frederickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo IV, webby... Do you ever forget what you were talking about? Oh gosh, you sure are pretty... Watching dani struggle with voice work made me realise even when the cast fails wonderfully it’s still impressive what they can do

I like how Laura sorted out all of the "what was I saying?" as if it was Dani forgetting what to say. Liam had a great plan here.

Danny's had a really overpowering "Aunt trying to explain her nephew's 'accident' in the fountain of the local mall to the officer" kinda vibe, and I think we can all relate...

I feel like this was the PERFECT story for Ashley to go second. It just fits her style of retelling the story so well!

After seeing Liam masterfully do buddy like that, I am more convinced than ever that the Darrington Brigade should be a children's TV series. They would have to take out half of the adult content, but they can replace it with Pros and more jokes. So much fun and cuteness to be had

this probably sounds dumb, but I think watching Liam's Buddy smile on the livestream cured me of the multiple panic attacks I've been having every night for a week. Not a single one since!

the way everyone freaks out about Laura going full Shin Chan voice is just amazing. I love that their are fans who are just learning that Laura was the voice of Shin Chan

I think my favorite part is how in the middle the actual story got shorter while the fake-out ending got longer and more detailed. It went from a stream-of-consciousness monologue with "Once upon a time" at the end, to "I'm Buddy the Ogre and I love ducks" as an intro to "It was a dark and moonless night. The coldest night of the year. I was walking through the woods when I came across these two huge guys".

So excited when I saw this pop up on my screen! I'd love to see Marisha do Hazel Copperpot when it's her turn. I recently watched the Darrington Brigade and all I could think about was how chaotic a narrative telephone about her would be. Edit: I wrote this comment before even watching the video and laughed so hard when Liam came on as Buddy.

I had a bad day. I cought a cold and my singing voice make me just wanna stay silant for the rest the day. Even some basic voices I can do were off. Right now I'm happy and thankful that this series exists, bcs it shown me that even the best voise actors out there have worst and better days😊.
