I like Sloe Gin my favourite is Hawkers which is made in Plymouth Devon my old home town although I always worked in the north .first with Shell Oil but we always drydocked on the Tyne and then with Manchester Liners based as you might guess in where else but Manchester I.'ve been up and down the Manchester Ship Canal more times than I've had hot dinners. Still nice here not to hot but the leaves are starting to turn so it looks as though September will be a colouful month and with you and Heidi to keep me in good humour life is good. Soo, you showed us some "footage" of what you are dealing with while recovering. I hope that within reasonable time you can jump for joy in the late summer meadows! Hi Helen & Tony, lovely journey. Hope your foot is on the mend. We have black swans here in Australia. It’s a very rare thing to see a white swan. Hi both, another great video, thanks. Great news that there are so many swans, it means the water is really good quality. Mute, Berwick, Whooper swans are the common ones to Britain. I believe, but don't quote me, that black swans are native to Australia and were introduced here by the landed gentry, way back. I am amazed by herons too!! How do birds with such long legs nest in trees? I love the natural and heritage histories that you share. Take care both ♥️🙏

Winsford Salt mines. Mine shaft, the salt in mined underground like coal, there lorries underground and left there to be rotted by the salt when they are of no further use. The caverns are also used for archiving of paperwork "Deep Storage"

Hello you two mariners, that salt works that you passed, the tall building looks suspiciously like a winding headstock, similar to a coal mine. There looks to be what appears to be winding ropes. The waterside structure that you described as 'bent' could be what's left of a loading wharf, where boats could be loaded with salt and unloaded with other goods. There are Black swans

Helen, I must have told you a MILLION times, stop exaggerating. There weren't so many swans as you claimed. There was only two dozen at the most. So you were a slot machine gambler emptying the one armed bandit in the Red Lion. It looks a nice place, but rather empty. Lunch looked good, but I wouldn't have ordered Cod Balls. Although it could be fish fingers... Two fingers. Those two bottles of Blue Saphire Gin was meant for me. They obviously got the wrong boat. That Crane which looked like a Heron was actually an Ostrich, but don't tell everyone or you will get thousands of Twitchers descending on the Wiver Reaver. They dig all that salt from underground, spread it on the roads. This melts the snow and ice which enters the drains, flows into the rivers then ends up into the sea. No wonder the sea is so salty. You learn something new every day Helen. I quite like your funny accent. I understand Tony perfectly, being a fellow Yorkshireman. Anyroad al sithee. Tony will translate. xx
