NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS 2024 REVIEW The Ultimate Naruto Game?

For me Naruto Storm Connections it doesn’t feels like a new Storm game at all, they changed only a few buttons commands and nothing more, the fact that they removed Tilts and they put the tilts moves on the second jutsus it's pretty lame, disappointing and lackluster, not to mention that they removed the jutsus selection completely from the beginning of the fight. 🤦🏻‍♂️ This game feels more like an update DLC than like an actual New Storm Game. But honestly, for me Storm 1 will remain the most Unique one from the series and the closest to the anime itself because of the very dynamic gameplay features, my reasons: Intro of characters before the encounter, unique jutsus that didn't came back to the other Storm games, longer and diverse movesets for almost any character, Awakenings in Storm 1 have also Ultimate Jutsus, Jutsus Clashes and Wall Fighting... and I can go on and on to state it why Storm 1 gameplay was the most unique one from the Storm Series, just try to Imagine Storm 4 gameplay with Storm 1 gameplay features, In my opinion that will be the Perfect Storm game. The First Storm game has the most Unique gameplay features perspective and the particular presentation of the game was so ahead of it's time in my opinion, the only downside of the first Storm game was the very lacking Story Mode Interactions, and from Storm 3 the developers cut and shortned the movesets of characters, that's why I don't agree with their choices. (By the way, my favourite Storm games and I will put them in my personal order will be: 1.Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1 and Generations. (these have my favourite vibe and charm of the anime itself because of the dynamic gameplay features) 2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2( for the unique Story and some Unique Boss Battles and let's not forget that Iconic "Calm Before the Storm" OST from the Characters Selection Screen and many more diverse soundtracks) 3. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst (Because of the more well-rounded diverse Story Perspective and very epic Boss Battles and also the soundtrack "Outside Konoha" and others soundtracks as well) 4. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 (mostly because of the unique option to change/switch between your characters team during the fight, this particular option mechanics should've been already in the game from the very first Storm game in my opinion) 5. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution (because of the abused and annoying Counter mechanic) 🤷🏻‍♂️

Combat is slower than storm 4

I can see why this drags. Inline looks worth it, though.

It takes ages to level up characters on single player. I only need 4 achievements and they are all to do with character levels

Not going to lie, the frame rate drop is pretty annoying

I think this is a very fair take on this game. The game has good gameplay, but everything around it is just poor

This isn’t the best review because you’re not educated on how storm games work but I still respect your opinion from a casuals viewpoint. The storm series has a list of games that we call “filler” games. These games would be revolution, generations, and now connections. These filler games focus more on the gameplay mechanics of storm instead of the story. Funny enough this filler game has more content than the previous filler titles. The game is not a storm 4 DLC. Calling this game Storm dlc will mean you will have to call all previous games before that DLC. All Storm games will have characters that have been in previous Storm games with no updated movesets and also maps that were also in previous Storm games. If you pick the same character in each Storm and the same map and start playing each game side by side you will barley be able to tell the difference because each Storm game will look the same when you choose the same characters and same map. This game plays and feels nothing like Storm 4. The game runs better than Storm 4, its plays on 60 fps, and the netcode is better. Also the gameplay mechanics were updated heavily allowing combo cancels to be much easier and allowing justus to pick up combos which makes the roster more viable for players compare to the storm 4 roster since a lot of characters didn’t have these mechanics in their movesets which competitively didn’t give players a chance against players who used characters who could do those mechanics. The counter system was updated to becoming a parry instead of knocking the opponent back. The round system was changed, ninja items and chakra now regenerates. There’s plenty of more changes but to keep it short this game is no where close to storm 4 and you can tell the difference between the games switching back and forth.

Terrible review tbh. Saying that there are no gameplay changes besides the additional jutsu is factually incorrect, if it feels the same to you then sure but don’t make statements like that. Also the sound 4 were playable in storm 4 so saying this is the first time they’re playable is also incorrect. The history mode is objectively terrible but the Boruto special story is decent (even for me who is not the biggest fan of that series) and is no way misleading, it was not marketed as canon content but an ORIGINAL Boruto story. This game should not have been released in the state it was in much less be sold for full price but this review still came off as ill informed in many places.
