+Xavier Figueroa I am with you he is MAN! I recommend, Cherry Wine. A track by Nas and Amy Whitehouse! Nas went all the way and backk ha on the beat 〰〰〰➰➰💫💥👽😝😽💓💕
Abzter Gail Grammy are anf never were a true artist anf especially a black artist Gold standard. They're way more political than merit or honor based. I still say judging by airplay and how oft its referenced by commentators, experts, his rap peers and rap supporters; the grammy would be inconsistent. Its nice that a real joint got "nominations" but I too feel this song and album are slightly unsung but means so much to real art lovers. Shame he didn't do steroids like partnering with Sprint to sell a mill in three days and then a genuine album with sage advice and insights would be heralded with mass appeal but again trill ones dont make those thangs the focus. #real #rap #raw #Nas
Drama Tim very underrated album. At the time it was normal. Rap changed a lot since this dropped. This sounds like 1998 nas cause his style never changed. This is an extremely good song though. Damnn
i feel like this is a song for the brothers that been through a divorce or break up and it hurt bad i respect how nas never disrespected kelis publicly in no kind of way after the divorce
Good analysis...expressed his feelings in a positive way - wise man. Women (myself included) can definitely take a few pointers from his example. He kept his head up and did not say anything negative publicly - kudos for being above board and a respectable individual
The more this album ages.. I’m starting to think this is my favorite Nas album. I think illmatic is perfect but there’s something about the vibe and message to this album that equally will keep me listening for life
Yup, its an adult mindset. As much as I love Illmatic, Nas grew and he put that growth into his music. I find myself reaching for this CD more than Illmatic because I can relate to it more. Its great work.
IF YOU READ THIS!! Can You Put A "Thumbs Up "So Others Can See. I Just started rapping seriously Type in (Lunden Ivory - Uplift one another) just a simple button can help my dream come true.... people will ignore this but if you don't can you listen, comment and subscribe Thank you all God Bless
"At least I can say I tried plus enjoyed the ride Plus we got our little boy, my little joy and pride He got my nose, my grill, your colour, your eyes Next go round I hope I pick the truest type and watch me do it all again It’s a beautiful life, aight Goodbye" #BARS
Amarys Romero Those lyrics are real. He is saying that even though he had a divorce he enjoyed being in love with Kelis and having kids and a family while many men have a baby mother and won't marry her . He talking about how many men have never been married so they have never experienced love and a family.
I turn 39 today... going thru this same thing. A marriage ruined, I never cheated, was honest and true.. she couldn't believe I was that real. Kept at me until I couldn't take it. Going thru my phone for YEARS, finding nothing.. accusations, mistreatment.. now I'm saying bye Baby. But I love her. I really feel bad for her. She's hurt but I can't continue to pay for another man's sins. 🙏🏽💯
@@teekolinski491I actually have found someone. She's trusting and respectful. She's a sincerely great person. I'm blessed to have her. I'm planning to propose soon. I appreciate the well-wishes ❤❤
@@peaceblessingsall3889I feel for you. It's a tough position to be in. I realized one day, almost in an instant that I couldn't repair my ex. Her behavior was insane to me, but perfectly normal to her. It was clear that she had to deal with her issues before she could be in a healthy relationship. It didn't matter how much I loved her. That was hard to swallow
+RealNigguh Studios your insane if you think biggie and tupac are even close those can just rap gangsta shit nas is way more lyrical and intellectual and overall more versatile.
I love Nas' delivery in this track. We can all relate to a breakup and essentially, that's all it is-a breakup song. But it's less sad and more empowering. Like, 'hey shit happens and sometimes things dont work out but it's okay because we had good times, i regret nothing, and life goes on.' Nas is king of nostalgic rap.
I was going through a seperation just thinking we might be able to work it out ...but once I heard this song I knew it was time to move on ..Thank You ..Nasir Jones.
Life is Good was the first album I ever bought in my life with my own cash. I listened to it for days start to finish over and over again and this was the song that hot ky heart the most. Nas is truly the King. If you really know heartbreal, this song was the perfect portrayal.
it was written was the first hip hop album that i ever heard - a classmate (RIP) lent it to me on cassette in 10th grade. how do you feel about his older stuff, especially illmatic?
This proves Hip Hop can be beautiful. Not only the lyrics and the chilled-out beat, but showing that divorce shouldn't always be looked down upon. Many other rappers would have dissed their ex-wife, but this is like his tribute to their marriage, takes a real human with a real heart to do that. Damn though...this beat reminds me of old-school Nas, old-school NYC, old-school love.
They say actions speak louder than words… when NAS drops it that shit runs thru ya veins and takes a firm grip on ya soul pleasing the spirit thoroughly!
Celebrity break ups typically have no effect on me but I gotta admit, this one hit a little different because I've always had that feeling that they really were in love, and beneath all the pain and abuse they put one another through, deep down they still are... They probably just didn't have the maturity at the time to make it work. Great song. Great album. A classic in my eyes.
I think she still love him too. Probably in the way that she wish they would have worked out and wrk'd it out. Bcuz she still speaks bad abt him. I've heard it said Hate isn't the opposite of Love, Indifference is. If she says has energy to spew hate abt him it mean there's still love there. She's remarried with another kid now, but I saw a interview, she talked abt him, I thought she sounded bitter. It sucks Bcuz you hope for the best for Good ppl, including yourself, but in life unfortunately sumtimes thing's don't wrk out that way
If you are a genuine fan of rap, then you should know that we need to appreciate the fact that we still have a legend like Nas still around making music. He is the only rapper that still raps on a real level like he did back then.
The way I started bawling when I first seen this years ago- the moment he held up Kelis' green wedding gown, I broke down. That & the hook! One of my favorites by Nas & I've been a fan since day one.
Lyrical genius!!!!!! Artist's really create the BEST music when they are going thru something personal in their lives...their artistry really shows and it's beautiful music. We missed you Nasir!!!
***** CStarz Maybe I as too hard on potential love..dunno... and HILARIOUS... yes that is a recent picture of me (2mos old to be exact) and sorry I have a 23yr old son and a grand son...NO MORE KIDS for me lol....Im aaaalllll the way good...Im staring at 40 yrs old ....so umm yea Im good lmao....Peace!!!
I post this comment at a time when we wait for Nas' last Def Jam album hoping for him to release a game changer to make artists and listeners raise their standards again. But as much as I get nervous about the quality of his next album I am consoled by the fact that Nasir Jones has NEVER put out a bad album...
Nas is da GREATEST EVER WHO HAS MUSIC LIKE NAS DIS DUDE MUSIC TOUCHES YOUR MIND AND SOUL NAS IS JUST A DEEP DUDE DA GREATEST, BUT NOW N DAYZ IN HIP HOP U GOT TO BE A CLOWN WIT A FUNNY VOICE AND SUM FUNNY CLOTHES FLAPPING DER MOUTHS AND DON'T BE SAYING NOT A FUCKIN THING, AND NAS PREDICTED THIS BEFORE IT EVEN HAPPEN WHEN HE SAID HIP HOP IS DEAD NOW I SEE WUT HE MEANT
only reason people heard this song because mtv promoted heavy lol u still got a few rappers that are self concious hip like nas do like J-cole kendrick lamar & joey badass
Nas is one of the oldest MCs I ever heard that is why he is one of my favorite rappers. This song is so deep and sad I love how he told the honest story in his song. I loved Kelis and Nas as a couple they look so perfect together, I hate that Nas was hurting and I believe he still love her and she probably still love him. I wish I could be Nas next wife.
First time hearing this song about he and Kelis. Sometimes in life, God will bring two ppl together to procreate for a divine purpose. God will use their child in a very special way to inspire the next generation. And that’s okay, that’s purpose. Not all marriages work out, not all relationships work out. But guess what it will be okay. You live and learn. You win some, and you lose some. But never give up on love and life 🤎🙏🏾🤎🙏🏾🤎
Who else has lyrics this real? "We was friends, we had it all. Reason you don't trust men, that was your daddy's fault." Forget being a legend, Nas is in another universe than most greats. He's not even rapping - he's having a conversation with us and his Ex.
everyone hating on NAS and the song but this really is a good song. this is what happens in relationships, i felt them lyrics he was saying its true! the sample did it justice and i like how he showed Aaron HALL love in the video. alot of artists dont show love like that! i play this song over and over sometimes, reminds me of fucked bouts with women and relations! he told the truth, i was touched!
great song ironic for me reminisin about a failed relationship...and family ...My son is named Nasir and he's the best thing that happened to me...From the 1st time i heard it was written i knew we had similar thought patterns..to this song reminds me of we broke up when she was about 7 months pregnant too..he was married tho we wasn't salute to her and nas all love
As a women I know it's sometimes hard to start over but the amount she gets from child support is enough to feed a whole village ... I hate bitches who take out their personal feelings in a mans pockets ... he wasn't lying when he said #half
I know right I dont have kids yet but if I did and was getting child support no way I could take a whole lot from a man, especially if he is a good father I wouldn't even take none.
I sat behind Mr. and Mrs. Jones on flight out of LAX some years ago and I then just as now would have never saw the split coming to pass. love is a finicky ole lady.
All this time I done seen this video and listened to this song (it got me through a BADDD breakup).I never knew that was Aaron Hall of Guy in the video smh i'm slipping lol. Classic CLASSIC record though. Bye Baby
