Bingo very well said. Nicky Minaj TEKASHI69 Cardi b Iggy azalea Are pure examples. Nas is one of my favourite artists in the world My number 1 top ten Mcs My hero My idol My legend
It just depends on the track or album. He's got some fire beats sometimes, and sometimes not-so-much. On the other hand, sometimes the beat is fire but the lyrics are generic. But my man is on point on "Stillmatic" and "God's Son."
This brother is true ... I met Nas on a humble waaaay back when he 1st dropped Illmatic - couldn't be more humble ... it's like we both knew that greatness was about to enbrace him ... He was with his new born daughter and so he was in a real good space and such. I'm so happy for this brother - he has endured and is recognized as 1 of the greats ...salute Nas - salute our borough, Queens, and salute the commissioner Steve Stoute for aligning Nas with the right people ... All these years later and now look - crazy
GOAT. Illmatic is by far the best hip hop record all time. No one could touch illmatic. Not BIG, not Pac, no one. This track right here was on a mixtape I copped back in 2003. This shit is fire right here. Nas is just so lyrical and precise. His wordplay is legendary.
Yea, there were a lot of tracks that leaked or were never officially released on "I am" and "The Firm" album. I had the leaked version of I am, there were so many dope tracks on there. Some made it on the Lost Tapes but some didnt.
***** That shit went missing a while ago, I got it back in 97', 98'. It was at my parents house but when I went back to look through my old shit it wasnt there. "Sometimes I Wonder" was a great track but I think it ended up on Natures album. The original "Fetus" had different lyrics and was called "Belly Button Window".
Ive been trying to find this song for yeeeears...i heard it once and it never left my head. Im hella glad i found this video. Mad props to the person that posted it.
@@kangarookristofer we can never let that happen! RU-vid is like our time machine to the past and even if they took down everything else, we cant let them take the music down.
He once said he was afraid of his own power. There are songs on his released albums that should've had videos and probably would've help sell more albums.
His label wouldn’t let him make the big songs, so he had to make subliminal meanings in his songs, as Colombia didn’t know his QB adventures and clue people in on the hood. Listen to unreleased nas song u da man. They cut the good lyrics
Nobody’s on Michael Jackson’s level, his legacy is untouched and he can’t be matched up with anyone. I will agree that they are both goats in their respective music genres though.
Rakim, then Nas, then whoever else, I grew up in oakland but I traveled alot in the 90s to the east coast, ran into alot heads before they blew at warehouse shows in various boroughs, in Philly, in jersey, i saw Nas in a club in NYC, about a year before halftime dropped, he rocked the show so hard, everybody after got boo'd, he came back freestyled for about 5 minutes, i knew he was one of the best to ever do then
What happens when you don't listen to the OGs, this Nas joint painted a picture of Tekashi 69 situation within the verses before he was ever thought of. "niggas rushing to the top, not knowing what it takes to be King of the industry".
Uhhhmm, Nas isn't trash, never was trash, never will be trash. Arguably one of the most respected emcees in hip hop. Dudes an icon, how? illmatic still sells 16 years later like it just dropped last week. Nas doesn't get any attention these days cause he won't conform to today's ENTERTAINMENT. He remains soley in the essence of hip hop. Vibes and Lyricism.
this is the best chorus of any song, nas, method man, biggie, tupac, ice cube and krs one have left us with some of the worlds finest music and they play miley sirus and lady gaga on the radio? whens the last time you guys heard 10 crack commandments on the radio?
