In 96 was the peak of his powers... Perfect blend of his hunger from his youth/illmatic days and the experience and confidece of knowing he had the game on lock. Basically he got his man strength
94 he was Illmatic, 95-96 he became the hood Shakespeare….no one has ever reached this caliber of rhyming ever again….non did it prior…..NaS is the undisputed 🐐
@@tiger_lord305 Nah in 91 you could still hear Kool G Rap and Rakim’s influence….in 95-96 he took the rhymes to another level completely….it was written had lyricism that was completely coded…..no one ever rapped like that before or after
Ppl don’t understand why back then the Djs were all throughout the tracks like this, for them it was gold finding exclusive unheard material, and they had to put their stamp on it so no one else would bite their shit. Research 90s mixtapes from guys like clue, Ron g, whoo kid and envy
Thank you for this. Nasssssssstty NaS. I hired an African American that loved Hip hop as we went through the interview process I said do love you Nasty Nas? He said, Nasty Nas? I said Yes, Nasty Nas, he said yes. I gave him the job and he succeeded.
I have been for 30 years trying to decide which one of Nas's raps is the best one ever. Until I hear the next one. He is the god of rap. Every sang is an adventure that I cant wait to go on. He has no equal, I don/t care what you think.
Actually if you want to get technical, this version came first. It was titled "Part 2" by DJ Whoo Kid, but this is actually the original version. Nas recorded this version first, in the studio with Big Stretch (the song's producer) Big Stretch was killed a few months later. Nas re-recorded it and made changes some time after Stretch died.
I don’t get what the DJ’s were thinking 😂 they must’ve thought they’d get hits from these tags, letting people know . LOL I want to slap this DJ personally for ruining this artifact . Nas , Lost Tapes 3 please?
@@TyNew-xk3tpneither version is "dumbed down". Nas is spitting all gems on this and God gave Stretch this music for Nas to rock over before he was taken. This shit is a gift son. I always listen to both versions, never one.
@@jahterminatedlmao5473 very subjective as l like street disciples but even at that l still don’t think its enough to earn a reputation of “worst beat picker”. Because I can list some bad beats I don’t like from every rapper. I think people are jumping on the bandwagon because somebody said it first.
This nigga was beyond special , he is no longer this colourful but even in his current dullness he is undeniably better than every rapper that came after him
