Every time I get ready to feel some type of way about something on the LT2, I have to remind myself these are the throwaways. The stuff that didn't make the commercial cut. And I'm impressed with NaS all over again! Another exceptional release! He says he's got a LT3 and 4 coming but the LT3 is an album full of the features the didn't make the albums. Very dope! Looking forward to it.

Look the Nas vs Jay-Z comparison will never end. But Nas get criticized for unrealistic expectations(Make another Illmatic album) and Jay gets a lot of passes. I will give you one example. Blueprint is my second favorite Jay-Z album.(After reasonable doubt of course) Blueprint is a classic no question. But Hola Hovito and That nigga Jigga are two songs back to back that sucks. Like really bad sucks. Stillmatic had Braveheart party(not on the album no more cause Mary J Blige didn’t like the beef) but a Jay-Z Stan will say Stillmatic ain’t a classic cause it had Braveheart party on it. Or they will criticize Nas’ LIG album Because Summer on Smash. Braveheart party and Summer on smash are better then Hola Hovito and That nigga Jigga.(my opinion) But just because Those songs sucked doesn’t mean Blueprint wasn’t a classic. Just an example. I could list a bunch of shit but I would be writing for days. With the exception of 4.44 Jay-Z always have Hola Hovito/Jigga my nigga type songs. But he gets a pass. Even Reasonable doubt had Ain’t no nigga featuring Foxy Brown. Nas makes You Owe Me(he still get criticized for this song) or Summer on Smash and they tend to shit on him for a commercial effort. And let’s not go into production. That’s the excuse to knock Nas because we all know he is superior lyrically to most. Personally I like Nas production a lot. Shit Kanye gave him some fire beats(that didn’t fit Nas I must admit) and people still bitched about the album. Most were mad he dropped only 7 songs after 6 years and they nitpick the album for shit that had nothing to do with the album.

Kanye was too impractical for Nas. Life is Good is as grand/cinematic as a Nas album can get while still sounding great.

Highly Favored, Art of it, Queens Wolf, War against love are the best tracks to me in that order

Fiiiiiiiiinallly.....someone seems to get it. Look, the Lost Tapes 2 has been on steady repeat on my phone all week. It just gets better. And I'm starting to think crazy stuff. That album is incredible...and the fact it's throwaways just makes no sense to me. I still haven't figured out the tracks to skip. Everything works. Every line. Every hook. Every concept. Yet. There are websites like HipHopDX giving this same album the worst review I've ever read in my entire life. Why? Three words...SJW sentiments over the music. It's a helluva time we live in. Blasphemy alert: Do I think Lost Tapes 2 is better than Illmatic? No. Right now, at this point in my life, which would I rather listen to? Lost Tapes 2.

Maxo Cream and Nas are both great albums. I've been streaming them a lot. Change off of Brandon Banks is probably my fav. And it's exactly cuz of what Joe said here...Maxo took the same kind of instrumental that you might here in some "mumble" rap song, but didn't mumble. He killed it.
