spin master is a kids toy brand they built the authentic for kids the Lionel is for the collecters

The difference for me: I simply CANNOT STAND the white interiors on authentics, also the wheels drive me nuts on authentics, the shape just looks wrong on the authentics. I buy authentics if they are really cheap. If I'm buying die cast its gonna be from Lionel

I've been in many NASCAR garages and let me say that Lionel looks a whole lot more realistic to an actual NASCAR. I'm glad they took over NASCAR Authentics

Lionel, Lately, the cars have been on POINT! Every car i have from lionel is FLAWLESS! ESPECIALLY the new EL molds in 2016!!

Just saw this several years later! I watch your Indy racing though.. I’m any case, it seems that NASCAR 1/64 diecasts have taken several steps back in terms of details and offerings. The 90s saw Revell, Team Caliber and Action release semi realistic 1/64 castings with opening hoods and modest engine detail. But in 1999 and up to the mid oughts, and with the introduction of the Hot Wheels Legends series with removable bodies and exquisitely detailed chassis with complete engine details, the castings from the other companies also upped their game and were brilliant. Team Caliber introduced the Owner’s Series as did Action with the Elite series with removable body with opening panels and extremely well detailed chassis! Hot Wheels followed up the Legends NASCAR series with their Crew’s Choice and Racing Select with excellent details and opening panels. What happened? All of the NASCAR 1/64 castings I’ve seen ever since are nothing more than toys with NO details whatsoever. Sad.

Nascar authentics are now made by lionel and I feel like the quality of them keeps getting better. I still buy both types though. I collect all brands of Nascar diecast old and new and leave them all in the packages. It's a really fun hobby for me.

I wonder which molds the use for video games? Nascar Ignition is a horrible game. I love this video explains so much for my diecast I gotten for my 1/64 sets for my dioramas. I prefer the Lionels for sure. You can get them at any dealer. Never picking from Nascar Authentic ever again. Unless if it's for my track displays sets I need for photos to upload etc. I can wait six months for Lionel but back I started collecting Dale Jr in 2008 when he joined Hendrick's I couldn't tell the difference.

I love this video! I prefer NASCAR Authentics but I also buy Lionel on EBay because sometimes I find really good deals on there. I've gotten lucky and bought about a dozen cars for around 3 dollars with free shipping.

I buy both. Truth is I LOVE Lionel's attention to detail. With NA It seems like they just skip the details and sometimes do their own thing.

I dont ever just set my sights on just one company. Just like Matchbox vs. Hot Wheels vs. Johnny Lightning etc. All have great points, and some have eh not so great. But I never ONLY GET ONE. To me you'll miss out on something great. So depending on your uses for the cars, I race them, so a better rolling runner is for me. Rubber tires usually run slow. Not always but sometimes. But irreguardless if I like the look I'm getting the car, period. Once I get a few BAD cars I hold off. But I never flat out stop. I can still display these amazing cars.

The realism on Logano's is better on Lionel, I prefer them

On the logano, especially the ford rear window on the authentics it is too big. He's my fav driver glad he swept Watkins Glen

Thank you for this! I honestly prefer NASCAR Authentics over Lionel. I own a Dale Jr. N.A. Car, and a couple Lionel Jeff Gordon cars, and the detail and molding I just prefer on the N.A. cars!

The best lioniel diecast company is 07 racing collectables I have never got a bad car from there.

TBH, I get both. Lionel for rarer cars like the 2014 Ryan Truex and Authentics for regulars like 2015 Dale Jr.'s. All in all, id say Lionel is better, but I like 2014 cars. That's the problem!!! I always buy 2014 cars and get WLS/PTC companies. I have never gotten a 2014 EL car.

here's the deal. authentics is cheaper and cheaper quality is given. We now have Lionel authentics and the only difference is the interior

the Lionel version of Joey Logano I would use on most of my stop motion tracks but the NASCAR Authentics version of Logano I would use at the short tracks like my Martinsville track or my Thomasville Speedway short track which is like a flat version of Bristol Motor Speedway.

I know this video its old, but thought it was interesting to watch and wanted to comment on it regarding some of the differences between the cars: - The Logano Car: The Shell-Pennzoil combination on the back was most accurately captured on the Lionel one. At no point was there a big variation on the real car like their was on the spin masters one. - The Bowyer Car: The Peak branding on the Hoods actually are both accurate, just appears they based it on different races (Auto Club for the Lionel version and Chicagoland on the Authentics one). After that, its no contest as Lionel's is the best. - The Nationwide car: The flaired Left rear panel was actually a common thing in the series at the time as it made for extra downforce so both have actually accurately modelled that (even down to the angle of the flair). Again, Lionel is the best.

I usually get lionel because you can get the beer cars and with spin master you get the child freindly cars and I'm a Keselowski fan don't abuse me

I buy Authentics since it's easier then having to order online or go to races, but I prefer Lionel over Authentics.

How about they just bring back Winner's Circle? I remember those were like the exact samething as the Lionel except they had black bottoms instead of gray. Just bring back Winners Circle and it's like perspectives of Lionel and SpinMasters are combined. You get great quality (Lionel) you don't have to wait a while (SpinMasters) better price (SpinMasters) and you could just walk into any Walmart Target etc. and get them!!! So, just bring back Winner's Circle!!!

I prefer lionel but I do buy spinmaster, but of course now you can't buy spinmaster because they where bought out by lionel.

The one thing I hate about spin master is the font on the name decal Lionel has a normal lookin one ahthentics have a huge font with white color it drives me nuts for some reason

Never have been an authentics fan. They always fuck up the tail lights over or under the rear decals and the rims are like 22s too Wide or big

Ive only just started collecting diecast nascars and i personally prefer the spin master ones.. The quality of the decals on my cars is 100% .... be far the best cars in my collection

Personally, I have always gone with Lionel because of the attention to detail. However, as a collector, I like the idea that I can run to my local Walmart and pick up a NASCAR Authentics if I am a little short on cash or if I don't have access to Lionel's website.

One time I bought a Jeff Gordon 2014 Pepsi Max Lionel 1:64 diecast. It was awful, the decals were almost completely falling of and out of place, which irritated me so much!!! But the worst thing is that the front chassis was mis-aligned and I had to use a screwdriver to unscrew and fix it. But all the other Lionel diecasts I've bought have been flawless.

Its 2019 and lionel is the only one left i havent seen nascar authentics since 2016 lionel is now called nascar authentics if you look at the back of the packaging it says lionel i thinl lionel bpught out the other brand and are in stores now

ok i thought lionel was the same as nascar authentics so i need a question answered now. i went to the texas race and bought a lionel chase elliot #9 napa reg car in a box. then i noticed it had glitter and thought it was an error. then i went to walmart and found the same style of car from nascar authentics of chase elliots #9 napa reg and it had the SAME glitter all over so i thought ok thats just how they made it because i thought they were the same thing. so whats up with the glitter from 2 different manufactures??

Another comment if you are a box collector meaning u keep the car in the box KEEP IT OUT OF SUNLIGHT the plastic focuses the sunlight and it destroys the paint/ wrap

how did you get the joey logano lionel chase car

the thing that bugs me about the action lionel cars is that the decals seem to be waterslide...and they scratch off. some little pieces have rubbed off in the package before i even got them...something i dont understand for such "high quality" diecasts. the old action cars NEVER had those kind of decals. does anyone know why they changed that? the nascar authentics seem to use some kind of waterslide decal too, but they seem to hold up better. but both brands have bubbling under the decals and clear parts of the decal that didnt quite fit the shape of the car. i know it sounds super picky, but none of the older diecasts from the 90's were that way

I'm definitely more with Lionel, but I like the price and availability of the Spinmasters

I know as a Brit who watches a lot of BBC programs that I am not use to the commercialism of the USA but 15 adverts for a video that is less than half an hour is frankly a bit too much.

I perfer Lionel because it's more detailed and I think that they sale Lionel NASCAR toys at target. I want to find a Lionel version of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

I usually would buy the authentics but I've been buying lionel lately and i like them better the molds i feel look better more of a selection with toyotas authentics has specific waves and they haven't made any 2015 toyotas yet but i like lionel better except for the prices

I know it's been over a year since this video, but I honestly have to say that I mostly loathed the Spin Master cars. Glad Lionel does the store cars now. While I'm glad Spin Master did various cars not made by Lionel (Regan's Suave, Bobby's 2013 Kingsford, etc) I was not happy with their style. Didn't like the fat wheels, the paint had issues, and overall they seemed wider and less well-made. Props to them for making some alternative schemes, but unhappy overall with that quality.
