I loved the SPEED-era of NASCAR Race Hub way more and always, but man this is shocking to me

The last remaining part of speed channel just died.

It's a shame that besides RU-vidrs, the sport is not getting the recognition and exposure it should. Not everyone has RU-vid and have to rely on other forms of media to be in the loop of all things NASCAR. Just when you think NASCAR is finally gaining notoriety again, something always tends to kill it.

Turner has plans to turn Tru TV into a sports channel, I would not be surprised if they create this type of show with the new deal. Turner has already launched their British Moto GP coverage on the channel.

The true remnant of Speed Channel is Fox Sports Racing in Canada. it still reruns all the old speed programs from 10+ years ago.

Bring back the Speed Channel

This is sad simply because it was my childhood back in the day to watch it every week.

I'm looking at prior to Inside NASCAR (with Ned and Steve) debuting sometime in 1985 as the last time NASCAR had zero television weekly programming presence. Sure, there's NBC Motormouths on Peacock (last time I've heard), but I'm talking about non-streaming programming.

That was quick... Anyway, this is & isn't surprising. The show is one of the highest rated shows on FS1. But the show has had a steady decline for the last decade. The writing was on the wall after NBC cancelled _NASCAR America._ It's sad too.

Fox has never cared about the racing fans.

I think where is so easy to find say clips of the show daily on RU-vid but as you say they just signed the new TV deal UNTIL 2031! and the fact it’s ending mid season, the NASCAR TV buisness is entering a whole new era and I have no idea what to expect

I guess we aren't getting extra interviews right after a race ends, unless we look them up. It's already a problem that most post-race coverage is cut early, it seems.

Please tell me Nascar will continue producing Radioactive videos!!

Same thing happened in 2003 when ESPN (ESPN2) canceled RPM2Night. Went from 1/2 hour a night, to 1/2 hour a week, to gone.

NASCAR on Fox died with Steve Byrnes

I watch the Hub daily and love it. One more reason why Fox is loosing it. Their race coverage stinks and now they cancels a great show. Hope someone else picks the Hub up

Better still give us Radioactive every week idc how they do it because that’s what most fans remember from Race Hub. Maybe NBC will pull something out of their ass and continue it. Who knows? Anything is possible.

I'm so over FOX. the sooner they are out of NASCAR, the better. That may be the emotions talking, but DAMN do they suck.

You hit it on the head Internet streaming is taking over. Which is strange; according to my research Race Hub was the number three watched show on FS1; so podium finisher getting the axe.

We loved watching the hub every week. The recaps, catching up on stories and personalities. Please bring it back!!!

I watch NASCAR Race Hub every day. It's information is good and documentaries are wonderful. Does NOT need to be cancelled

I think Racehub has fallen behind the times. With the rise of RU-vid and different podcasts, we have tons of Nascar coverage.

The Monday episode was the only good one of the week, as it was fresh while other episodes seem to repeat. They should just do it once a week, while adding the RadioActive to that episode.

I hate the fact FOX & NBC will hold fewer races on network TV. FS1 & USA Network should only host 3 races max.

During the Speed Chanel era I rarely missed an episode of Race Hub and since then I watched Race Hub 3 or 4 days a week. This truly is a sad bay for NASCAR fans. Hopefully NASCAR will produce a new daily NASCAR show.

And just reminding you, FOX signed a SEVEN YEAR deal with NASCAR! How much more pain do we have to deal with?

This is shocking for me too, I didn't watch NASCAR Race Hub after 2020 but I wonder if this is a sign some of Fox's talent will go someplace else.

I thought this was a joke at first when I saw the title and thought "There's no way". That was until I looked it up and saw the article. Plus, it'll end on my 23rd birthday that day. Talk about terrible timing!!! I hope to God Radioactive will still be aired.

Oh man I miss NASCAR race hub tremendously. Oh I like watching that show. Well since the beginning I get sucked in bye-bye I think they said one of the sports broadcaster’s new TV broadcaster deals should be in a weekly show.

It’s crazy that this was the only show and still beats other sports shows that Fox has and why did NASCAR sign a deal with Fox until 2031 if they known this would be the product of it. NASCAR needs some type of publicity and radioactive is quite literally my favorite part of nascar.

Between this and NFL Total Access, this past week has been a slaughterhouse for my favorite sports' longtime news shows. I never watched it much (especially as a pretty recent fan), but I at least like having something NASCAR to maybe put on in the early afternoon. So much for that I guess. At least Radioactive is still here to carry the last thread of Speed's legacy.

I wasn’t too much of a NASCAR race hub fan after Jimmy Spencer left the show and especially after Steve Byrne’s death, so other than that, I have zero opinion for this.

Such a tragedy. How will fans be able to connect.

There's one thing ive learned from race hub Jimmy Spencer always gets the laugh when it came to Kurt Busch

No loss. I haven't watched it for years. No need for that sort of broadcast anymore. There is plenty of great content on You Tube like this channel that covers all of my NASCAR needs. Too many streaming services too. FS1 has been a low priority for my household. So we have loved without it for years. I just go to You Tube.

Maybe NBC will pick it back up

There are multiple RU-vid channels that do a significantly better job and only take a few minutes a day to watch. It's sad to see NASCAR lose all presidents on midweek TV but it's not going to change anything about how I receive my NASCAR news and entertainment. If a new show does come along it should be in a 15 minute format Monday-Thursday and half hour on Friday. Amazon would actually be really well positioned to do this and could simulcast on RU-vid and prime video with a special 5 minute segment each day only available on prime. It would be a great way for them to begin integrating into the NASCAR culture and get people used to going to prime for NASCAR content. Something that would help ease fans into next year as they hold practice/qualifying and then the 5 summer races.

TV is dead for anything except live sports, the show wasn't making them money. Nascar will do something if not we have independent creators that do a decent job. We might see driver's doing more content themselves.

As you mentioned towards the end, I wouldn't be surprised if the CW adds a daily NASCAR show.

I miss totally nascar the original speed channel. I really stop watching after Jimmy Spencer no longer on the show.

Nascar started to die when earnhardt dies. Then nascar did all the safety things. Then all the good drivers left. Dale jr. Jeff gordon. Tony stewart. Labonte brothers. Burton brothers and many others. The drivers today were given everything. They didnt have to work their way up. Why dont they wear the hats anymore. Its a southern sport where are the rebel flags. Then you have bubba. Poor bubba had to have all the guys push his car to the starting line because he got picked on. Nascar died that day. Bubba buried nascar. RIP NASCAR

Not a big loss, but they couldn't even run it through the season? Seems weird to me.

Between Fox and NBC , there will be only 9 races aired on broadcast TV. Streaming is the way of racing.

I feel like TV (and maybe the internet) should take notes from radio (SiriusXM nascar radio, MRN & PRN) …. I know radio is older technology but radio has always done a really good job with coverage & their talk shows! And they still do great today! And they cover nascar almost every single day throughout the whole year! At least Sirius xm does I’ve been a fan since the mid 90s and still am today.. but I noticed TV coverage gotten really dry and blah over the recent years and over saturated with commercials… it’s at the point to where I’ll mute the tv and just put the radio coverage on cause they do such a better job with everything!! I feel like the guys that work on the radio are more into the sport than the tv ppl are

Thanks alot Eric Estepp @Out Of The Grove. Your 20 min daily uploads that get straight to the point and keep us informed has made RaceHub irrelevant. I haven't watched since out of the groove started. Even post race I jump over to the iceberg to see what's going on there. Traditional cable Is dying.

We need an all racing channel again like Speed/Speedvision was. This has gotten out of hand. We are supposed to be growing as a sport, but it seems like we are heading back in time to when there wasn’t much coverage at all. This is not at good look and Fox is starting to go down the path of ESPN did and not care about their NASCAR content.

Which is it, a weekly or daily show? Daily seems excessive, weekly seems more fitting. Cant imagine there's enough NASCAR news & stories for a daily show without making crap up.

As much as I hate to say it, I don't feel like we need it. I also couldn't tell you the last time I watched a full episode. A lot of the folks that would watch RaceHub watch the YT channels, like you, and Eric, I would rather see WindTunnel revived if it was up to me!

Well, Fox Media is now owned Disney. It's a clown show..... cue the circus music!

sucks to see it go but if someone like nbc tnt cw or amazon can come through with something like this i’m sure it’ll be better. i forgot about the cw until you brought it up but I now thinking about it I think they’re the most likely suitor to make something like race hub

Something will replace it but we certainly don't need a 1-hour show every day of the week! They just kept regurgitating the same thing over and over and it was boring. One show on Monday is sufficient.

What's the point of investing in a new nascar studio when you give your biggest show the ax ?

when SPEED was a thing it was the only channel I watched as a kid other than Cartoon Network. Also isn't NASCAR opening its own studio ? I am pretty sure content is just going to start being produced by NASCAR in the future.

It's over produced and a waste of time to watch IMO, podcasting is the future, it's the best form of media currently, I'm even starting to shy away from SXM NASCAR channel for the same reason. People want content, not commercialism and fluff.

I never watched a full NASCAR Race Hub episode, because i’m a International Fan, and it’s hard to find a “rebroadcast” of US TV, also live in Brazil and we are 1 hour ahead of the EST time and sometimes i need to do other things instead of watching Race Hub. Thankfully to the Internet i can watch Eric Estepp Out Of The Groove, and much much more.

Perhaps the NASCAR highest-ups need to call whoever does their media rights negotiations on the carpet. When the original deal was signed with FOX, it was implied that, for the FOX portion of the schedule, the races would be on Fox. Now, the majority of the races are on FS1. And people wonder why NASCAR, as big as it is, has dwindling ratings and attendance. Hell, I can remember when NASCAR and NHRA were deliriously happy to be on The Nashville Network. NASCAR has gotten too expensive, too bloated and too gimmicky. I gave up when they impersonated the Piston Cup race at the LA Coliseum.

This sucks! No other way to say it! It's been my 14 year go to. Jamie Mac will be missed!
