NASCAR Thunder 2003 On The PS1! But I Suck. 

Basically nascar 2001-2004 on the PS1 was the equivalent of “Legacy Edition” versions that only had roster updates and everything was the same, graphically and functionality.

Nascar 2001 through nascar thunder 2004 on ps1 were all just a copy and paste with a roster and paint update, but with each year there were less and less paints, and 2003 and 2004 specifically had graphical issues that 2002 and 2001 didn't have, it's like they tried to make it better but just made it objectively worse.

No the problem was the hardware they couldn't push it any harder as it is there was texture popping issues with 2002 and 2001

I was poor so this was the last game I had until nascar 2009 and I could buy my own shit.

I recently build a retropie and got some ps1 games, I got to play NASCAR Thunder 2002 and 2003 looks way better, at least the car models look smoother than '02. Btw, yep, braking and driving on the apron on these games is horrible as I remembered from when I was a kid. Apron feel like ice skating. EDIT: You can add the car's condition pressing SELECT, also the track map.

They literally copied 99% of the game from 2001 on until they stopped making it, and that was only a small upgrade from 2000's game
