A couple of clarifications:
He is not reading chat with his eyes at 4:07. He received a text-to-speech message and was responding to that.
The 1-up at 12:48 is actually not determined by RNG! This is something I actually did not know at the time. It will always try to run away from Mario depending on his position relative to it (Thanks to Xein64 for the clarification). However, with the way this person was running around with no setup, it might as well have been RNG if he really was blindfolded.

IMPORTANT EDIT: As this video continues to gain traction I want to reiterate that at no point should anybody attempt to seek out and harass this person over the contents of this video. The point of this video was to examine an interesting case study of a recent cheating incident, something that doesn't happen too often in SM64 these days. The purpose was NEVER to attack this person's character and it especially was never to give him any undeserved attention. I am still removing comments of people posting links to his streams and I will continue to do that. 95% of you guys have been great about this though and I thank you all so much for that. Subtitles have now been added. Thank you guys all so much for all the views and nice comments! I'm genuinely blown away by the amount of exposure and feedback the video has gotten. You should do a "catching cheats" type video series, similar to that of max boxe's tf2 series and many cs:go overwatch series, show us a speed running clip, have viewers guess if they cheated or not then reveal the answer and give the evidence as to why or why not.

@@Nintenblox the chat either has doubters or his regular viewers, i would assume the latter didn't think much of it when he was being called out. i'm even convinced that based on their lack of reaction, they hardly know anything about what's happening. no one's even discussing strats or anything of the sort, just a bunch of encouragement, or echoing what the streamer says. which i think is also a good indicator on the streamer's level of skill, and personality.

The one game I ever played blindfolded was Rhythm Heaven, specifically the song with the guy eating dumplings. You could do that purely by listening cause it's not like you had to turn a camera or move a character, so like you don't have to be an expert to do it. I don't even want to THINK about playing this game blindfolded, omg. Props to speedrunners! Cheating always sucks to see because people who do it for real practice and work so hard.

They all cover these scumbags from hate they deserve so the only downside to cheating is temporary embarrassment. There are multiple high profile speedrunners who have been caught cheating multiple times and this attitude towards cheating is why many of them seem to "make a mistake" like this numerous times. Speedrunning isn't taken seriously by the wider gaming community outside of being considered a fad for multiple reasons but this is a major one.
