Love, love, love ❤️ This is traditional Mexican music. The song basically says: "I usually sing my sorrows and my joys. I love singing so much, that when my time comes, I want to die singing, just like a cicada." A cicada is a little insect that starts singing when it's about to die. Everyone who sings this song needs to sing it that way, with those long, high, strong vocals. Excellent choice. I really love that you're delving deeper into our culture. We Mexicans love singing when we're happy, when we're sad and when we're hurt. Greetings from Mexico

Fun fact, Natalia Jimenez is a Spanish artist who's career essentially started in Mexico, and she treats our culture with such respect and love that its a beautiful thing to see, and I can see it in you too. I would translate it or the meaning like this, "there is no darker color than the color of my sorrow but even so I will die like the Cicada, singing because life is too short and even if it is hard you have to keep on singing". Cicadas die during the summer usually when you hear them singing you know the summer is over and they will die because they can't survive the cold nights...

The cicada is an insects that chirps or sings. Some believe that when they are about to die they sing at their most beautiful aspect so that's what they are trying to portrait they want to enjoy life and music is a huge aspect of their life they want to continue singing till they die just like the cicada

Hearing Mexican music like this is like catching the holy ghost it makes your arm hairs stand up . A true work of art and these 2 queens you said it lila downs mexican icon and natalia a gift Spain gave to mexico and the world even though she's not Mexican she has the mariachi in her blood. Lila Downs NO es México-americana, sólo mexicana, nacida en México, con padre estado unidense y madre oaxaqueña. Vivió unos años en USA mientras cantó ópera y estudió arte textil. Pero casi toda su vida ha vivido en su México querido, resaltando su arte con su voz, su música y su vestuario llenando gratamente todos los escenarios que ha pisado!!!
