Ok that squatting/belting exercise she did WORKS!!! I haven't been able to unlock my belt for the longest time (my mixed is so strained), but that totally did it for me! It'll obviously require more work to refine but it helped so much. Thank so much Natalie, and more belting excercises please where that came from! Does anyone else know of any other belting excercises Natalie does?
Yes, it does work!!! I unlock a new part of my voice! Sometimes it's not there, but after I remember how to do it, it's just coming back. Ugh! She's so good and so generous sharing her knowledge. That balanced part of our voice is really sounded good when it was properly produced,
Catie Turner is one of my favorite artists! You have really good tips and its alot to think about. But little things can make such a difference!!! Love to work with you one day
OK but like the first 7 seconds of this video are oof, one of the warmest, most beautiful, and heartfelt things I've ever heard in my life. I keep rewatching and have to repeat it at least 20 times before I can start watching the rest of the video!
I remember when I first started to sing and how I belted everything in chest voice and sang in a fluty head voice sound. I wish my instructor would have said just do the damn exercises cause it will change how you sing. Especially if you understand the lip thrill which is where the actually magic is. I think teachers really need to take the time to explain and demonstrate why the exercise is performed and what sensation your looking for in your own voice.
Ive never had any vocal training and I’m 19 but this makes me want to is there science to say I can’t start now or bc this is amazing she’s like just showing them they already can sing if they just think about a different physical place like that makes no sense but genuinely helps them ????? With hand movements? This is magic take my money
I’m 19. I began taking voice lessons two years ago and have come a very long way. I study classical singing and opera with my private teacher. Placement is a very important part of singing because depending on where it is will determine what kind of sound you make. Thinking about placement (and hand movements lol) are very helpful. With enough dedication and a great teacher to help you develop a solid technique, anything is possible. :)
