I think it’s rather logical for a sociology researcher (or any researcher) to focus on issues and topics that people care about. Comically, there’s a lot of research proving the fact that most men think their tool is too small, therefore other researchers try to publish papers on related topics to be relevant and be cited more.
i know this is a year old question but this was a university of washington zoom seminar he did in may 2020. it was exclusive to students but theres some fans who snuck in (including me haha) but yeah it seems this guy uploaded clips but in unaware if the whole seminar is posted anywhere.
