It's Sade to see how many of my Nordic brethrens families were taken over by the christians.. I am blessed my family's Norse heritage has stayed Strong to this day.. Good Ostara!
My father brought a Scots lass back to Canada after WWII as his warbride, my mother. Many years later I heard of the DNA project of the University of Edinbourough called "Blood of the Viking" and submitted a DNA sample to be studied.....the results of that DNA analysis stated that I was of 80% to 90% of Norse origin, decidedly from Norway. While I was amazed, I was not 100% certain. Again, years later after retiring from a military career, I again submitted a second DNA sample to another agency doing DNA analysis and was told in their reply that my DNA was conclusively of Norse origin, with a high percentile stated of 80%.
I have had my DNA done as well and it indicates I have some Scandinavian ancestry. I have never seen a DNA test indicate 'Norse'. Of course if you have Scandinavian DNA then by default some of your ancestors would have been what we consider today to be Norse.
There is a real life adventure brewing out their. A man has discovered a dictionary that allows you to read ancient Viking runes as ideograms. Stories from over six centuries ago are now readable. This dictionary does for prehistoric runic what the Rosetta stone did for Egyptian hieroglyphics. See 'The log of the Kensington rune stone', on you tube. Anyone can participate with a copy of his report. No hoards have been found yet.
All i been watching are all out dated and new finds have been discovered and even the lief ericsons voyage who settled on the hudson vinland is found it was in the north americas not in canada except for the lands they camped on along the way and the lands they named
There are no confirmed Norse settlements in North America other than in Greenland and Newfoundland. And, since when is Canada not part of North America? Do you mean in the northern USA?
