Yes! I would do it because I opted out of doing the iceberg swim in Labrador back in 2009… I had swum earlier that day in an alpine tarn and I was too chilly to go into the water again and touch the iceberg. But I supported folks from the beach and brought them towels when they got out and took photos, along with Sean Todd, who has a healthy fear of the sea and makes sure to point this out whenever people sing "At College of the Atlantic, we have no fear of the sea." Even still, if given a chance in the future, I would take a polar dive. One of the most fun COA memories I have is skinny dip diving off the high wharf with friends in the middle of the night in the middle of winter after the "Overboard for Eddy" concert (to raise funds to replace Diver Ed's scuttled Starfish Enterprise!).
Just wandered onto this video while jumping around on RU-vid. I actually have seen a couple of your presentations before. Your narrations is perfection. Clearly, you do your homework! During this video, I teared up a few times because I am 81 and don't have the money to do these things. So glad I can experience through vids like what you provide. I will now be looking for you.
The videography, the storytelling and the beauty of your videos touches me deeply. I found myself tearing up several times. Alaska will always be a place of learning and discovery. It is always changing and always the same and I love how you both captured it in this special voyage.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing these kind words. We put so much sweat and heart and soul into these videos, it really means a lot to hear that they are connecting. Thank you for taking the time to write this comment. It is the fuel we need to keep going! Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your adventure. I love your style of narration. It's very easy to listen to. Very articulate and your voice is very soothing. The cinematography was great as well.
🎉🎉What a most picturesque cruise my nephew has told me many a time that he wants to cruise to the Great Alaska . I will surely send him the link to this Cruise that might encourage him to take his Cruise sooner than later. I look forward to part 2 keep safe.❤❤
Cora you are a natural narrator, your soothing voice goes hand in hand with the beauty you describe and your effortless way you inform us along the way helps retain what we are learning from you, I always wandered about Fjords and now thanks to you I know, I envy you guys as you seem to be on a perpetual vacation, kudos to you both.....Javi G.
Hey Javi, thank you so much for this kind compliment. It means so much! Before coming to Alaska, I was always curious about fjords as well! I love how much making these episodes teaching me about the world!
A wonderful and epic journey into the Inside Passage. Incredibly well curated with photos and video and of course..the sound track. It makes me so very homesick for my Beloved Alaska. Thank you both so very much for your hard work editing and writing the narrative...simply wonderful! I will see the Inside Passage in the Summer of '25 and this video is such a treat for all with ears to hear and eyes to see...you have Blessed me once again with your talent!
Hey Bob - thank you so much for this awesome feedback! So happy you enjoyed the trip, and so excited that you are getting your own Inside Passage adventure next year. Woop woop!
And yet another excellent video! This one was so fun because we were just visiting our friend in Wrangell so that got 2 shares with the locals (boy were they excited to see their town on video!) and a few more shares…just because. What you guys do is amazing. Keep on putting out your excellent education and exciting content. The quality somehow only gets better even when we already think it’s the best. PS…Cora, I liked your polar plunge the best 😉. Your friends from Homer!
Hey Lonnie and Larry! Oh hurray - so happy you enjoyed the episode! And thank you for sharing with your friends in Wrangell. I hope they feel we showcased their community well :) Thanks for the kind words about the production quality. This one KICKED OUR BUTTS (we're still recovering...it was an exhausting job in post production). So we are so happy it's striking a chord! Sending a wave from Prudhoe Bay!
15:50 This episode of National Geographic's Inside Passage expedition is a breathtaking journey into one of Earth's last great wildernesses. The visuals are absolutely stunning, and the way the team delves into the region's natural and cultural history makes this an unforgettable watch
I used to live in Juneau and worked as a whale watch naturalist for 5 years! This had so much amazing info and footage 😊 Tracy Arm was one of my faves when I got to do those trips! I enjoyed your narration too 🙏☺️ thank you for sharing!
So happy you enjoyed the episode! We are actually not Nat Geo though - we just went on a Lindblad-Nat Geo trip. But, man, was it so amazing and inspiring!
This is one of the best documentaries that I had watched during these years. Well done I like the presentation of the trip as well as the narrative well articulated. Good luck for the future.
This was wonderful. I moved to Kenai Alaska almost 2 years ago and the adventures never end. Thank you for showing me some don't miss places. And YES, I would do the polar plunge , WooHoo!!
Wow wow what a privilege to be able to go in National Geographic and see all these geological glacier formations. How did you get selected to do such a trip? I’m so jealous but I’m happy that you did such a great RU-vid video. Thank you so much, Lester.
Hi Lester! This is actually one of the trips organized by Nat Geo-Lindblad Expeditions. They do adventure travel trips all over the world, from Alaska to the Galapagos, even to Antarctica! Check them out! www.expeditions.com/
We just completed a Viking cruise to Alaska from Vancouver and I saw the National Geographic ship you’re talking about somewhere maybe catch a can took some videos. Always subscribed to love the magazine and love what they do. Also, we love the Viking cruising it was our number six in the last couple years.last as my wife has now taken a stroke and life has changed for us. I enjoy your series and have watched most of them. Thank you for your work and your effort and I’m gonna enjoy this one now thank you.
Hi again Lester! We saw a few Viking Cruise Ships when we were there in the inside passage. Hey maybe we were looking at you, when you were looking at us! We are so sorry to hear about your wife. Sending all our thoughts and prayers for her continued recovery ❤️
So cool! Thank you! I see my family on there. We saw your big ship go by and it was pretty neat. I remember waiting for the wake when you went by, but it wasn't too bad at all.
Always interesting to know about the labour of these organitations. And you'll have to push me into those frozen waters if you want to see me jumping into it.
Another great video. It was nice to reminisce on my small ship cruise that was similar to yours but with Alaska Dream Cruises and only 49 passengers. Did you get to visit the museum in Wrangell? So much interesting history. I wish I had done the Stikine Jetboat tour. It looks so beautiful. I opted not to do the polar plunge. I've done several in the past but my body has been boycotting the cold for a while. 🤣 Thanks for taking us on another beautiful Alaskan adventure. It brought back a lot of memories.
Love your video and more of the way you narrate. After watching the video this is what we have in our bucket list for our next alaska trip. By the way where have you got your orange jacket from. Need one for myself 😊
Oh that's so exciting! Yay! So happy we were able to help inspire some items on your travel bucket list :) Here is that jacket! rei.rockporch.com/prdlink/vhP5LGHEmY In fact, if you plan to head to Southeast Alaska, you might find this packing list helpful: artwethereyet.com/blog/top-things-to-do-ketchikan-alaska/#southeast-packing-list Enjoy ALASKA!
Places like this are perhaps best preserved by being left untouched and unvisited by masses of tourists. I think that, for most of us, the safest option is to enjoy the educational journey from the respectful distance of the daring few who can skillfully make documentaries from aerial drones, photography, and videography. The wild animals, the constantly changing climate and the harsh physical landscapes makes this part of the world very dangerous to go in person....but also important to preserve through documentaries....as some features have already disappeared and others now present are changing and might soon be gone forever owing to the climate-crisis.
I think that is the mission and spirit behind the wilderness status that is given to areas of this region, such as the Misty Fjords. More info here: www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd3814491.pdf

@@ArtWeThereYet Thank you for producing this video and the others on Alaska. Because of this video and the one on the Sea Bird, we booked our Expedition for next May on the Sea Bird last night. We are so looking forward to it and we have a book full of notes from your videos on Ketchikan, the Expedition, and Juneau that we will use upon arrival. Thanks again and we're looking forward to following your adventures on the way to Argentina. Safe travels.
1:50 well that surly doesn't look like ANKERAGE as after watching it on Nick Johnsons youTube channel 'Deadset that was sad. .. Cheers for the upload my friend. from Sydney nsw.
Hi, we are so happy you enjoyed this video! We use music from Epidemic Sound and choose music from many different artists who have music we think would work well with our videos. Cora is the script writer and sound designer for our videos. If you like a particular song from the video let us know at what minute in the video the song starts and we can pass you the name of that particular artist!
Tracy Arm is breathtaking, those steep cliffs that go straight down into the sea with turbulent currents and tides, incredible waterfalls. Stunning. God bless America 🇺🇸
