There's still issue of small display. Fallout is very hard to play, unless player knows item locations from memory. I tried it on Steam Deck and it was unplayable for me. It could be fixed modding game to show items better though. Something in veins of like Divinity Original Sin's is it left thumb stick press that shows items as text. That makes it fully playable on SD.
This should’ve happened officially back in the day. RPG games were popular on 3DS. Fallout on 3DS would’ve found an audience. Elder Scrolls for N-gage should’ve had a DS port and Oblivion for PSP could’ve been a nice spin-off game.
Oh absolutely People was playing all sorts of turn based tactical rpgs like disgaea fire emblem... meanwhile all i could think of at the time is how i wish i can play morrowind here 😢😂😂 oh i loved morrowind very dearly you know. Seeing this beautiful port i can absolutely imagine how ppl who grew up with it feel. Id love to play it. Id also love classic diablo and diablo 2 port for 3ds.. and of course doom you cant go without doom 😎
@@cmmmmmmmw I mean, have YOU played the first two games? Or are familiar with old PC RPGs in general? That resolution can age HORRIBLY, and the physical format of the experience really changes things. My old Windows XP laptop finally gave up the ghost (which I kept because that smaller, closer 4:3 screen kept the vibes better) but trying it on my desktop, on my full desktop fairly recently was... really shit. And tinkering around with resolution stuff does only so much IMO. The game isn't meant to be played on massive, modern screens, and there's a point where the fan effort involved to make the gamefeel better starts to alter the experience in a way that can tint the experience. Which is great for replays and all, I love the fanbase. But getting a biiit smaller, but closer and more intimate, on some pretty good quality screens? That seems like a great alternative, should the UI factors get ironed out more. The interface, as many of its contemporaries, screams "Touch me" with its big button graphical elements anyway, so the touchscreen seems a natural fit. This is a quite intuitive conclusion to draw.
@@Bird-wz7nxSo basically you claim the claim is unplayable because the graphics are dated (when in fact it has aged miles better than FF VII for example)
Niiiceee I’ve always wanted this I even considered a ps vita (still am, will get when funds are extra) but my 2ds I’ve been wanting to use more I wanted to play on pc but I’d have a better time playing laying down w these rpg games
Really pleased seeing fans myself included giving this cherished and celebrated franchise so much love by porting it to virtually anything. Fallout’s the new Doom. Great job! 👏👌🏻👍
I remember playing a port of the game on mid-late 2000's phones. There was also a port of Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow that I also finished on said old phones.
I swear some guy is gonna but 14900k in the 3DS soon enough and make it run elden ring , it’s impressive that so much cool ports being added to such a old device
Now if only fallout 1 and 2 could be released on switch like was done for bg1 and bg2... But if it doesn't, always spiffy to potentially have other options.
Increíble, finalmente un port de fallout original para 3ds disponible al público, ahora solo tengo una pequeña duda, sera posible poder jugarlo en una 3ds old con un parche al español y algun mod que corrija bugs y errores?
You can zoom in by moving the 3D slider, or by holding select and pressing d-pad up. You can also press select to zoom in the top screen while putting the full screen on the bottom - this is good for menus. Once zoomed in, the text is fully readable on an og 3ds
Do you have to do any prep mods to the 3DS prior to installing? Can I do this with a vanilla 3DS? I'm doing this right after work today. Whatever it takes I'm doing it! This is amazing.
I moved the master.dat file to 3ds/fallout/, yet opening the game on my 3DS gives me an error that it can't find the master datafile. I'm very confused.
So I take it this can’t run on an android device like Odin 2 or Odin 2 Mini ? I have tried and .CIA won’t work even once I converted it trying Both file types.
Do I need to have previously installed something to mod the 2ds like the Homebrew app or can I do this on its own as I don’t really want to install any other thing apart from fallout 1
Got it installed and running on my 3DS, and started a new save with new character. It doesn't seem to have generated a config file for me to fix the music though, anyone got any suggestions?
tried and failed, my 3ds doesn't run the game, after the "please stand by" screen it goes black and nothing else responds. I have already checked the github page for any troubleshooting and still, same black screen after boot
