In this episode Greg Blanchard and I spend the day testing two of our most popular pedal drives. The Titan 10.5 and the Slayer 10. The actual review and scoring will be done over on Greg's channel, but I wanted to put together a few of my clips and make a little behind the scenes VLOG for the Headwaters RU-vid fans. Greg is such a gentleman. His channel is filled with knowledge and good fishing. Hands down the most underrated kayak fisherman on RU-vid.

Nice Videos gentlemen. I'm sold and will order my Titan 10.5 on 3/12 as I'm currently deciding on which color and what accessories I will need/want. My final choices was down to a Hobie PA 12 and Titan 10.5. The price was a major factor but but I actually prefer the option of instance reverse for hands free control. Thanks to both you and Greg as well as countless others on RU-vid for assisting with my decision making process.

My goodness the turning is unbelievable on that 10.5 ! I just got my first kayak I purchased a Tamarack Lifetime 10 mainly because of your review on it and of course the cost since it is my first kayak. The peddle models look amazing especially for fishing. I’ll see how my first season goes before I think of jumping into the peddle more expensive models but this brand is very impressive !!! Great video very helpful !! Like to add that I don’t know that this 62 year old could lift that thing up on a car LOL !

I'm stoked with my Titan 10.5. So much room and super stable. Turns on a dime and the peddle drive is awesome. Definitely need the Boonedox landing gear on land but once your in the water it's a dream come true. Thanks Headwaters.

Do you find the air filled tires hard to take off and especially put on while in the water? I see a lot of peeps "upgrading" to the sinking tires that look like car rims.

I bought two Native Propel 10 kayaks last year and I have given up the old fishing aluminum John boat completely. I love the freedom of the Native Watercraft and I don't have to get a license for it. It fits in the bed of my pick up so no need to haul a boat trailer.

Good Video Sir I enjoyed it, I wrestled with a PA14 vs Titan 13.5, Hobie Won made my purchase last July. Kayak fishing is great if you get a chance to bend the rod now that’s the cherry on top. I also just liked and subscribed thx for the return on that, looking for more video from you. 👍🏼

I have more ideas than I have time in the day. At some point this spring I may have to go back and do real work. haha. Who know as this grows maybe it will drive enough traffic to the shop to be sustainable. If nothing else it helps people get an idea of who we are and what we are about. Thanks for following along man. Your one of the early adopters to the channel.

Awesome review but sadly I am STILL torn between the two! Leaning towards the Max 10 for maximum portability, just hoping the stability while standing and fishing is enough. Nowhere to physically test them both so i'm relying on YT vids. Thanks again for making this video!

I think there's a Max 10 but this is the Propel 10. I thought this was the slayer max 10 as well, but it's not

Leaving the seat on the Slayer 10 while cartopping, so that you have a headrest for carrying is genius.

You're right. I was going to find a foam padding thing to use on my head but seat is good idea haha. I put mine downside up with seat off on my crv so I can't do like he did. Only 5'7 here eh. Yes very stable, got my for a week now and wide yaks are totally worth it especially pedal drive.

Huge weight diff. for being so close in size.If you have to load by yourself the 10 seems like the one to get.Did the 10.5 replace the 10?

Hi guys, I am looking at the slayer 10 for the portability but what is your opinion as I am 6'4" tall and 240lbs . I have concerns about leg room , ect ? What do you all thing with the Slayer 10 being able to move the seat back far enough for me? Thanks Scott D

I am 5.10 and can move the seat back far enough that I cant pedal I weigh in at 220 and it is a very stable platform for stand up casting

So what besides length and weight would be the main differences between those 2 kayaks?

Craig Tanner width and deck space. The Titan has so much room for gear! Also horizontal rod stagers, under seat storage, transducer scupper. The full review will talk about all these points. Go subscribe to Greg’s channel to catch that. Should be out next week.

If you're hauling a Slayer 10 and a Titan 10.5, could they both fit on top of your truck on those racks, securely?

Dasan Yang yes for sure. Thats why I have the racks I do. I haul wide fishing kayaks all the time.

I'm kinda undecided right now, hoping you can guide me in the right direction, so I have the hobie passport 10.5 for about 6 months now, its been great sofar, altho the seat is kinda too low for my taste. I'm tempted to switch it out for a native slayer 10 propel.. What do you guys think? Is it an upgrade or downgrade..

I truly enjoy your video's, I will be purchasing a fishing kayak for inshore fishing. I will be departing to japan within the next four months, and want a pedal kayak that can take the Ocean. I'm hoping you can answer this question: I have not had luck finding Navtive Titan 10.5 dealer in Japan, are you aware of any? or companies that will ship to japan "free"?

Shipping is so incredibly expensive. No way would anyone send one to Japan for free. They’re hard to come by here in the states this year because of increase demand and limited production.

Kori Whitchurch that was the plan for this week but we sold all the Flints At ISE. That little boat is Red hot right Bieber we even presold a bunch from our next shipment. But I will keep one for demo for sure.

So did we. We just assumed it was faster, but that Titan is no slouch. It also may have something to do with the motor, but honestly it felt pretty matched.

Size of the person may make a big different. Being 300lbs I would not want to race someone that is under 200lbs.

Adam Crane no sorry to say these have more control but in a drag race the Hobie Drive is faster.

I thought I seen a vid where these things are ripping past a hobie drag racing, I suppose it's in the legs more rather than in the drive like a bike?

Greg was using balls of feet to pedal which is correct and delivers more power...You were using arch of foot which is very incorrect and less pedaling power!
