Thank you for sharing, very informative and beautiful. As the saying goes, "Beauty Begets Beauty". I wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year. Best wishes.
Looking good! It's always kind of sad to see the plants going dormant, but that's life. The new area will look great after all the plants grow! Happy new year!
My Brazilian Rock Rose is still looking good too! It also went to seed and gave me 20+ babies this fall that I was able to easily pull and repot to plant elsewhere in the spring. I just planted this plant in April earlier this year. Survived the drought too. It is a super hardy plant so far. Southeast Louisiana, previously Zone 8B, now Zone 9A.
The struggle is real! I’m in Bell county which is split between cross timbers and black land prairie ecoregion. tpwd.texas.gov/publications/pwdpubs/media/pwd_mp_e0100_1070ac_34.pdf My soil is heavy clay with some limestone. I’ve not done an official soil test (I should though!) but I tend to amend my flower bed soil with expanded shale to facilitate drainage. I do raised beds for fruit and veggies which allows me to better control my soil composition. Have you looked into your local master gardener classes? These classes are great at helping you overcome the local gardening challenges. Keep at it!
@@theplantninja-texasgardener oh your not too far from me, I’m a little farther south, our weather shouldn’t be too different, my soil is mostly sand and clay a lot of rocks
