I know!! It's shocking to see me in natural/light makeup!! Today I gave Less is More a try because we took to the streets to see what types of makeup guys like! Well, I already knew the answer but this triple confirms it.
While I'm a strong believer that girls should wear makeup to make themselves happy and confident, not to just to make guys happy, it is however true that many guys find girls in heavy makeup very intimidating. If we don't want to scare them too much on the first date, I suppose a more natural look is better. However, it doesn't mean that you actually need to apply less makeup; in fact, making it look like there is little to no makeup with plenty of makeup on actually takes some skill and time!

When guys say they like no makeup, they don't mean really no makeup. They mean flawless skin, perfect brows, natural flush, pinky lips and thick lashes, but preferably through winning a genetic lottery and not via Sephora. If you didn't win genetic lottery to get all these things naturally, then you should be so good at makeup that they cannot tell you have all that stuff on your face. You know what a girl without makeup or hair looks like? A boy. What I'm trying to say is, don't believe the guys, they think Kim Kardashian has no makeup on. They dum.

Hate it when girls are pressured to tone down their makeup cus guys here are scared of it. It is fun to express ourselves using coloured liners and shadows. I ain't going to stop playing with colours and thick wing liner just for a guy! It was so painful watching Xiaxue avoid the shimmers in that palette.

Guys can bugger off. Wear makeup, then say “too much”. Don’t wear makeup, then say “eeyer~ why you look so sick today”. 😒 You think we buy a $70 palette of eyeshadow, or a $53 lipstick for you meh. Is to make myself happy and feel good. If the makeup don’t change how I look then what for I spend so much money on it. Tsk. To be honest; I’m traumatised by how Xiaxue looks without her colourful hair and makeup. The plain Jane look doesn’t suit her. I prefer her as she is on the regular. :)

I thought it was Michelle Phan on the thumbnail until I saw the user. A fun alternative to what we're used to BUT I'm glad you stuck to your own principles whilst also being understanding of the opposite view. if you guys say you want "natural" you don't actually mean bare-faced at all like it actually takes just the same amount of effort to have a "natural makeup look" as compared to a crazy creative colourful look But whether you are one of those girls who want to go simple or all out, YOU DO YOU🙆 if boys feel intimidated by a lot of confidence/makeup, it just shows to prove that it's more of a 'self-reflection' problem rather than a 'preference' problem

Personally as a girl I find myself gravitating towards girls with less makeup too bc I somehow am more intimidated by girls with a full beat makeup coz from my personal experiences with them they do tend to be abit less approachable. However in saying that I've met girls who have full beat makeup who are rly friendly and nice and girls who are more 'natural' who are bitchy, and I'm a strong believer of you do you as long as you're not harming anyone!!! Put on as much makeup as you want and fuk guys who "get turned off by you" coz you have too much makeup on lolz

I think the general stereotype of a girl w bold makeup is that she is bitchy, full of herself, or slutty... As with all stereotypes I'm sure there is some truth to it, which is why I also try to be understanding when guys say they don't like girls with makeup (I feel like it should be none of the guy's business). Well that's a tough question to answer. In Singapore, I would say 90%-95% of the men would find, say, purple lipstick terrifying and hideous. While I personally think that is ridiculous, it is also true they cannot help what they are attracted to. That leaves 5% of men left to choose, if you persist in crazy lipstick colours, and what to do, sometimes we have crushes. I actually heard a girlfriend tell me that her boyfriend forbade her to wear ANY lipstick AT ALL. Can you imagine the horrors? NOT EVEN NUDE OR PALE PINK?? Like zero lipstick! omg

I find it funny because even if you can have a "natural" look, it doesn't mean you are using less makeup. I can use primer, base, corrector, powder, eyebrows, highlighter, liptint, blusher, that's quite a lot, but it doesn't seem like I'm wearing almost anything. I think it's just a matter of style, rather than a matter of quantity. Just wear what you feel comfortable with. If a person is going to judge you based on the way you like to look, then that's not a good person to be with in the first place. I'd rather be alone than with a person who is going to be so picky about my appearance. Also... Sometimes is like boys don't want a girl who is human like them. Who has insecurities, who wants to have their own personality, who has different body shapes, dark circles. Do they even look at themselves in the mirror? They want us all to be barbie dolls without no effort. That's just not realistic. Anyway if that's their priority I'd rather not be with someone like that. I prefer someone who values me as a person and doesn't judge me based on superficial things like that. Luckily I have a wonderful boyfriend who loves me just the way I am, no matter how I look.

The first time I actually wore makeup was during a concert in middle school and most of my girl friends were like "Why do you wear so much makeup?" At that point I felt really insecure about myself and these thoughts would linger around for most of the time. But compared to what some guys would say about a makeup-wearing-girl, my guy friends were totally fine with the makeup and it was at that moment I really felt like crying of relief. Up till today, I still feel grateful for my guy friends who actually accepted me for being myself. Honestly they say that girls should go natural and be more ‘confident’, but in my opinion, putting on makeup makes me feel great and confident. I think I’m quite ok looking, but I really like to put on make up, experimenting and so. And it’s what *I* like. People say make up is to hide whatever ‘facade’... just no. Not all girls or even most girls that wear make up are like that. Guys say they like a natural look, but would they want someone below average or someone who can wear make up (nicely and properly) ??

What they said were really predictable and in fact, I love that two of them admitted they find made up girls not approachable. That’s as frank an answer as you can get... people cannot help what they are scared of. At least they didn’t pretend they only like no makeup coz they really like how it looks like. Xiaxue In the past it has been true, as you have endorsed ZA Impact lash mascara, Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto and Maybelline Rocket mascara and still you haven't stopped wearing false eyelashes for your pictures or videos. As for this promotion, how would I know if you really were going to wear only mascara if you have just uploaded this video? By no means I mean hate, as I've followed you for 7+ years. Enjoyed watching this. It's interesting that guys prefer natural makeup. But in the end I'm also more makeup is preferred. I some how can't do natural makeup. My guy doesn't mind me wearing full on makeup, he knows I like it and he knows that I'm not gonna listen to anyone when it comes to what I like and what I want lol.

At the end of the day, find a man who appreciates both side of you. Natural or Bold. If he can't handle your bold makeup or vice versa then just leave his judgemental ass. Simple! Why should we please them when they don't even have a skincare routine?!

I think it's best to wear natural or little makeup on the first date and after that on your second, third date or whatever to wear more glam makeup. If you wear glam makeup on the first date guys might feel like your trying to hard also guys are dumb they will think you have naturally golden eyelids and be shocked when he finds out you don't lol… So yeah ladies stick to natural makeup (for the first meeting, after that do whatever you want and if he doesn't respect that then fuck him.)
