Love the video!!! Thank you so much for posting. I also want to say I am so proud of you for not falling into the temptation of showing your baby on social media. Many people do not realize how cruel this world can be and you have to protect your family at all costs. I plan to do the same thing once I have my baby. I'm three days overdue so please say a little prayer for me bc I'm beyond frustrated lol. Congratulations and many many blessings to your family! ~Lavena
If your baby isn't sleep, you could also place him outside the bathroom door in a rocker or something and keep the door opened. I used to baby sit my niece I used to do that if I had to shower, use the restroom, or do something in the kitchen. You can just keep peaking out to make sure nothing is going wrong. Even if he is sleep, you can still do that if you are not making too much noise.
Congratulations! I remember those days. You are better than me because my hair was brastrap length and after the wash process I would pull my hair soaking wet into a bun. I wore a bun until sleep was no longer an issue. This was way before the internet explosion, RU-vid and videos like this. My son graduated HS this past Saturday. I like what you have discovered! Enjoy your baby! I once thought it was so cliche but they really do grow up like lightening.
I've been with you since the beginning and I'm so glad and proud that you finally finished. It's been a privilege to see you grow and be a motivation to me and others as well. Congrats Dr. Mae and many blessings to you and your expanding family!
Congratulations on having your baby! You are officially a mum now! :) And as usual, your hair looks really good :) Congratulations on finishing grad school too!! :)
Did you know that you're the only mama that posted a video like this? thank you from the bottom of my heart. My son is due in August and I was terrified about my hair until I saw this video. Your new fan, Keita
Congratulations on your PhD and your baby!!!! I miss your videos. Thanks so much for giving a glimpse into your world. I'm not on any other social media outlets other than RU-vid but I'm so happy to learn all this great news about you. You inspire me!
Congratulations to you and your husband on your new addition!! Also congratulations on finishing your doctoral program!! My daughter was born on the first day of the second semester of my doctoral program. My goal was to finish before she started kindergarten. By the grace of God and God alone I finished just 2 months before her first day of kindergarten. Enjoy the journey of motherhood. My daughter is 7 now and every single day has been incredible!! You are going to love being a mom!!
wow...I have followed your journey from your big chopped and even the blossom of your relationship with now hubby and schooling...I haven't watched any vids for a year or so, congrats, congrats and many more. very proud of you!
Congrats on your baby boy. I had my daughter in April as well. The struggle is real with a newborn and wash day. Thank God my husband was able to take over when he made it home.
Congrats Mae on your bundle of joy and your degree! Your hair is growing beautifully again. I remember when you went in that salon for your 1st big chop. ❤️ it!!!!
Congratulations! It is so refreshing to see a woman of color completing a degree and especially in STEM. You go girrrrrrlllllllll!!!!!!! Peace and blessings to you and your new family. Love, Love, Love!!!!
Congratulations! So many blessings! Having a routine is the biggest step so the fact you've found one is awesome! Cherish it all because they grow so fast it's unbelievable 😢. Your hair has grown so much. Very pretty.
Hey Mae. So glad you're back. You're an inspiration to me. Wishing all the blessings to your family, specially to the little one. Much love from Brazil.
Banding the hair and waiting til the next day to style is great for anyone who's low on time! I started medical school in August and kinda stumbled upon that method. I noticed my braidouts never look good on Day 1, and that's because my hair doesn't dry well in braids. Just the nature of the braid itself doesn't allow for much air flow. So I started 3 strand twisting on wash day, but that takes over 1.5hrs. So now I just wash and band, wear a bun the next day and then that night I braid for a braid out. And at that point the braiding only takes 25 min or so because my hair is still detangled from the banding and bun.
Congrats on your baby boy and on earning your PhD! I have a 2 year-old and I always wondered how moms are able to do elaborate natural styles and routines with kids running around the home! I keep it simple and I've learned to have headwraps/hats that I can throw on in case I get interrupted mid-style and need to run out for some reason.
waaaauw its so inspiring how you manage to get a Ph.D a baby, combining you're private life and YT !! were sitting here thinking how were going to manage going out and waking up in time for class hahahahahah Loved the video doll many blessings to you and your family
Yay, Mae. Congrats on the baby boy to you and your husband. I've been with you for about 4 years, congrats on your graduation, I am still trucking along right behind you. I will have my degree this winter :)
Congratulations Mae! So happy for you!!! I've been watching your videos since you started and I'm so glad Gpd has brought you to the finish line and you got your PhD! May God bless your baby boy! 😘
Wow congrats congrats congrats, Engineering! I am starting my undergrad in engineering this fall semester! So excited, I know it's obtainable, but so hard ! But truly congratulations girls!!! You've inspired me even more! (:
thank you. this is the most honest video I've seen in awhile. taking care of baby and yourself is tough but you can work through it. Thanks for giving me hope
This was a really great video. I really need to get back into wearing my hair in twists. It's a great protective style and it lasts long. And you can even do a twist out afterwards.
Congratulations , feeling proud. I think about what all I could have done in those years of following you and the things that could have been accomplished. May your life be continuously blessed with all the joy and happiness life brings you.
congrats on getting that PHD and also managing to have a baby and get married on top of all that. You managed to have it all. Looks like your hair is growing out. Will you be cutting again or growing it out? Can't wait for all the new videos to come.
Congratulations on getting your Ph.D and the arrival of your precious son. I am a first time mother to also to a 8 month old baby boy. I usually do my hair in the afternoon or late evening but sometimes I do have to stop to nurse him or play with him. One time it took me two days to twist my hair~Lol
I'm in my last weeks. This pregnancy has been much different than the first, so I've been much more tired and ill, so I've been relying on a monthly salon blow out to manage, I think I'll continue that for the first few months after baby to manage. It's much easier for me to style like this- flat twists, two braids, afro, afro puff or updo :) I'm thinking I'll put twists in at my next blow out. Your twists look awesome!
Congratulations on the new baby and finishing school. This was a great video with some goid ideas that I will definitely be putting to use when my little one arrives in the next few weeks.
yaaaaay!! congrats DOCTOR Mae. u deserve it all girl i remember when u first started and its so motivating to see you've completed ur goal. i almost forgot u had a baby cuz you've been MIA from my timeline but yaaaay. boys are so much fun!! more power to u WITH hair and a newborn cuz i grab the scissors QUICK lol.
Oh Mae I am so happy for you guys I really did miss you. You remind me of my best friend so much. Congrats on everything your baby, your graduation and may God continue to bless your family.😚
Hello Mae!! Oh I've missed you! Congratulations on the birth of your son, now on top of Dr. Mae your momma Mae lol!! I had some laptop issues for about 2 months so I've fallen behind on my subscriptions and I'm playing catch-up. Ooh girl I'm rambling and almost forgot to "thumbs up" you know I have a habit of thumb uping before I watch a video, lol! Wow your hair has grown A LOT! Congrats again on earning that Ph.D.! :D I like how you're using the same brand of product...man, Shea Moisture just has too many lines and I want to try em all without being a product junkie, lol! Great video, even though I'm not a mom, I really like this video 1. because it is so well executed, I love planned out videos 2. it's still showcases your FABULOUS head of hair and I get to see what products your using and 3. Any video with my Mae in it is great, you just have a super upbeat personality, it would be hard not to like a video you produced...unless you for some reason ventured off into the creepy world of spiders and clown talk then considered me a no show in the ratings and comments and I'm tired so I'm going to shut up now, lol! Thanks for sharing and I hope you and your family have a wonderful upcoming week!
kerducky LOL!!!!!!!!!! Hola kerducky!! You're probably asleep by now but you really just crack me up! I love the videos you watch all the ladies are so nice! This lady is part of you hair team in your "thank you" video and cards you posted on your Google+ page, her card was the one I liked the best (me gusta mucho!) with the pale yellow color and flowers! Thanks for sharing and I will definitely give this video a thumbs up! ;)
