Earlier this year The Doux introduced 808 Base Gel to the market.
We of course made sure we picked up 2 bottles (1 for home and 1 for the salon) at our local Target. We spent 4 shampoos testing 808 and shared the full experience with our private, SeeSomeCurls community.

I definitely peeped the BGC influence on the making/marketing of this product! Shows that hair care cos are listening to consumers and paying attention to what's going on in the natural hair space.

I live in Florida and right now…the humidity is no joke 🥵😬. Lol. I have used 808, but not by itself. With this humidity in Florida, unless you are wanting to wear a moisturized afro, you can use 808 by itself. If you are a definition person…808 by itself is a no. What worked for my hair is using 808 first (very little in each section) I used a little bit of Poplock , Than put Bee Girl gel on top. I got a very firm set. On day 3, that’s when I got the volume that I love❤️. It lasted me 7 days. Which for me, is normal considering the climate and because I live an active lifestyle. This combo was a winner for me. One thing I have learned about the Doux, is that you definitely can not pair most of her products with another brand. Your hair will be flake city when your hair dries …literally 🤣.

I did 808, then I create hold, and the mousse def on top. This combo has been great for me.

I saw your live when you said that 808 does not play well with others. I did not believe you and tested it myself. Your were right. With that being said 808, crazy sexy and bee girl is a hit for me.

I did the pop lock + Bee Girl + Crazy Sexy Curl and I love the results. I'm on day 5 and curls still poppin. I'm going to try the 808 Base Gel + Bee Girl Custard + Crazy Sexy Curl and see how it performs on my hair.😄

My favorite combo with 808 is with 6:36 Mousse Def and Big Poppa. I would like your thoughts on that combo.

I’m not a fan of Big Poppa so I don’t have anything to add to the chat. I’m pretty sold on pairing 808 with Crazy Sexy Curl + Bee Girl.

I used 808 + Mousse Def foam. Got definition and volume but my curls lasted a long time, at least a week.

I’m curious about these glycerin heavy gels on naturals that live in dry climates. I see loads of comments about humid climates but what about the desert curlies??
