I like this video her hair came out so beautiful you did a very good job love it and I got my natural hair relaxed I been natural for three years now I'm back to relaxers .( I have a question how many times should I do a protein treatment ???) 😍😍😍😆😆💖✨💖✨💖✨💖🎶🎵😮👑

You don't want to over do protein treatments as this can hurt you more than help. Honestly, knowing when to do any treatment comes with touch and feel and observation reason why I always suggest going to a professional. But I'm going to answer your question to the best of my ability, protein treatment once every 8-10 weeks

I'm not going to lie, my heart shed a tear or two when you started to process her hair. BUT that's because relaxing my hair is a never for me. Notice I did say my and me in the previous sentence, no hate or judgement here. I'm happy that she allowed someone to do her hair with knowledge and obvious care. It's absolutely gorgeous!

I agree with everything you said except for the "everybody doesn't look good..." comment. I've honestly never heard another race that claims that's its possible for ppl to not look good with a part of their look that happens naturally. In my opinion, everyone can look good in their natural texture if they chose to wear it as long as they know what type of styles work for them whether that's long, short, sleek or big and dramatic. Just the same way that everybody can look good with whatever straight style works for their face shape etc.

For us as Black women our hair texture does matter. She’s right everyone doesn’t always look there best with natural hair . The same way with white people they don’t always look great with black hair or red hair so they apply chemicals to their hair to look their best. I think natural hair is beautiful but for some women it’s just not their best . So they revert to things like weaves wigs or even relaxers . I’m a natural btw so no I’m not saying this for any other reason but I feel we all have a look that goes better with us !

I've been natural for 8 years and me personally I think it's over rated. People can and should do whatever they want with their hair and feel comfortable about the decision they're making, whether it's relaxing, straightening, wearing a weave or braids. It's just hair.

Jessica Bryant i agree with everything you said besides natural hair being overrated. how is hair that naturally grows out your head considered overrated? lol
@jessicabryant4759
@jessicabryant4759 6 лет назад
April Miller Because some people take it way too serious and would say things like, "I haven't trimmed my hair in 4 years or pressing your natural hair means your gonna get heat damage". Some people are natural for a reason and some just wanna join a "movement". Some naturals place way too much judgment on what other naturals do to their hair. I've watch countless natural videos on YT and have read some pretty bad comments, shaming a person for what they do to their hair.

@@jessicabryant4759 I'll raise my hand and admit. Growing up I never saw natural hair in or outside of school, church or gatherings. And when In college I saw a woman with a twa and thought something like "She's not ashamed to go out like that? Doesn't she know it stands out?". Me standing there with my long processed (wanna be) hair in shock. This was in 2010. Natural hair was teased and gawked at. And now here I am with my natural hair so proudly with a different mind set. I love it more than anything in this world and wouldn't trade it. For me it's not overrated, but celebrated every time I style it. I appreciate for what it is and how it is. I made it to WL yay! I still feel bad for not knowing my hair earlier in life, like a newly discovered diamond that I thought was a chunk of coal all these years. Now it shines.

I’ve had long natural hair all my life and I straighten it every two weeks (with some breaks in between) and dust/trim every time I straighten it. Most of my newly natural friends on their hair growth journey are trying to deter me from straightening my hair but I’ve pretty much kept the same regimen since I was about 8 (waist length) and my hair has done nothing but flourish and remain healthy these past 10 years (past tailbone). It’s all about knowing what YOUR hair likes

Thank you for your comment and I totally agree! I think people are misunderstanding what I meant, when I said " Women Don't Look Good with their Natural Hair''. SO LET ME EXPLAIN... Just like any one hair style isn't worn on all women, I feel that wearing a AFRO or Twist Out isn't the only form of natural hair nor does these hairstyles compliment all Women as we have different density, length & head circumferences. In retrospect I love natural hair, however, the natural hair community has only categorized us as natural if you wear ( Fade (BIG CHOP), AFRO, Twist-out, Bantu Knots, ..etc and I was expressing that we too are apart of the natural hair community whether we have silk press, braid, faux loc, Sew in, crochet braids, hair color, and etc... But at the end of the day I promote healthy hair in all forms whether natural or chemically treated, so let others choose what's best for them and their hair. Much Love Trinigyul ❤️

Danni Rice hell yea that's why I'm thankful that a beautiful black woman named madame CJ Walker created the relaxer for those of who can't stand natural hair. My hair is thick and the shrinkage is real. It's easy for my hair to knot and tangle. It's easy for my hair to get heat damage. So of course I'm grateful that a beautiful black woman saw fit to create a product to even increase our versatility. And again hell yes ppl was looking a damn fool. That nappy hair ain't cute. Beddy beads aren't cute. That kitchen back there isn't cute. Ppl love saying go natural but back in the day they didn't have all these products ppl put in there hair to.make them curls pop. You folks that's so caught up on this natural hair equals black power is just dumb ASF.

Every other races gets to wear their natural hair in it's natural state band it's seen as beautiful and suites them. Why is it that when a black person wears their hair natural you comments of people saying natural isn't for me, or natural hair doesn't suit me. Your God given hair will always compliment you. But If you want to relax your hair and risk scalp problems and health problems that's on you.

It's crazy that black women have been conditioned to prefer straight and relaxed hair for so long that they don't know how to keep up with their hair in its natural state. "It's unmanageable and hard to style" no it's not 😂 we just don't know what to do, what products to use, etc. People want to say type 4 hair is difficult because they can't do a wash and go 🙄 I wonder what black women would have done without relaxers, pressing combs, and weaves, I wonder if we would appreciate our natural hair more. 🤔

Black women like every other women have the right to change their hair. Without blond dye, white women would also learn to love their majority natural brunette hair, without straighteners Arab women will also learn to love their curly hair. Without a laptop, you would be outside sharing your opinion with no one but yourself, but the invention of the internet has given you a voice. Hair grows. It's the only thing women can manipulate to their hearts desire and it will grow back fresh and new. Stop holding black women to an unrealistic standards so that they can fail purposely. Oh, and straight hair is also found among black people. I'm Ethiopian with straight hair, zero white in me. As do many in Niger, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Sudan, Somalia, Senegal, etc. Perhaps, if you spent less time bossing black women around and instead learn about the diversity of Africans, you will appear somewhat intelligent.

I’m natural and my last relaxer was 10 plus years ago. When I found out how perms can harm your body I was shook and done with them. I don’t care what anyone does to their hair but I cringe when I hear/see ppl relaxing their hair. It’s all out of love though because I want everyone to be healthy and happy with what God gave them. Please do your research on the effect perms can have on your body internally. Your skin is an organ and it can absorb chemicals you use to relax your hair. Be wise guys there’s so many safer hairstyles.

I am a part of the natural community. My hair does not like any kind of chemical. I have tried different kinds of relaxers, different strengths, different stylists(who have all done a phenomenal job with relaxing hair and growing relaxed hair) and my hair still came out. I have tried other chemical treatments also. My hair just doesnt like chemicals. It barely likes color. I love natural hair. But i dont terrorize people who decide to get relaxers. I cant stand natural girls who talk down other people. Its their hair not yours. I just dont understand this hair shaming thing. Natural hair isnt for everybody. Yes you are born with it but not everybody has the time or patience for the up keep of being natural. Their is such a thing as healthy relaxed hair. I have seen it. My best friend has long, thick, healthy, shiny hair and her hair is relaxed. If its not your head dont speak on it. Easy as that. Its not the whole natural community that are bullies. Damage and breakage can come with any type of hair. Not just relaxed. It all boils down to proper care and minimal manipulation. No, I'm not a hairdresser, but I've been doing my own relaxing and colors for over 20 years. I'm sure she will be shown how to care for her hair in-between her appointments. Hair grows, no matter what type you have. Maybe she wanted a change. If she doesn't like it, she can transition back. However, the last thing one needs to do is shun her for her decision in regards to the treatment and process she chooses for her own hair.

@AyanaSioux

Shannon920 but scientifically speaking, relaxers literally remove part of the cuticle of your hair, literally breaking it down, meaning it thins the hair, making it more prone to breakage than it would be in its natural state. So pseudo science aside, in reality it does make your hair break easier and maintaining length becomes harder with relaxers.

I had my hair relaxed for YEARS and it never grew past my shoulders. I’ve been natural for ALMOST two years and it’s bra strap length. When I was relaxed I went to the salon religiously every 6-8 weeks. Now that I’m natural I am able to cut that down to twice a year and now know my hair much better than when it was relaxed. I will never go back.

My mom's hair is relaxed, myself and my daughter are natural but its not a matter of what people think why we are. I just chose this after surviving cancer three times and chemo... My daughter is thirteen and never had a relaxed hair... In other words... Al three have healthy hair and my mom's grows long and full and so does ours... I believe you are 100% right in choosing the right stylist to maintain your relaxed hair. I don't do anything to my natural hair cause I am lazy and I hate combing my hair but it still grows. Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed

Arielle Edwards Um God wants us to do his will and his will only. We supposed to obey his living word and everything shall be added unto us. We don't do what we want and call it gods will, then it is not his will, but your own counsel. I see A lot of people are doing that, when scriptures speaks against vanity etc. Gods wants us to live abundantly, but what we have to walk in his righteousness in order to do so. It is too many people have done listen to these false prophets into thinking that God is a Santa Claus. No he is not he is a king. A king that established the law that we should abide in, people that do not abide in the law shall reap what they sow. It is just that simple.

I'm natural and I don't care what anyone does to their hair. I have had the same experience with the "creamy crackheads". I got a silk press one day and all my black co-workers would say " your hair is so pretty when it's straight". Another comment I receive all the time is "I can't do natural". How???? You were born that way and it is very self hating for you as a black women to say some people don't look good natural because they have big heads or etc. YOU ARE ENCOURAGING SELF HATE IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY AND YOU ARE TEACHING YOUNG GIRLS THAT LOVING WHAT THEY WERE BORN WITH ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH. I get more compliments from BLACK MEN with my natural hair because they hate the fake weave and shit . If you hadn't noticed by now, most black men are running to mixed breeds or other races. Not because of relaxers but because of the self hate that black women have of themselves. BLACK PEOPLE WAKE UP.
@StylistLee1
@StylistLee1 6 лет назад
OOOOOOH NOOOOOOOO MY SISTA!! I know you may not know me and probably never will but I love BLACK more than you'll ever know... I can assure you that at no means am I teaching self hate, I'm actually doing the opposite. These same feelings you have towards my statement are the same feelings I have about the "Natural Hair Community" as they don't embrace ALL Natural Hair whether silk pressed, or colored, or box braids. The natural hair community feels like if you don't wear your hair in a Afro, twist-out, or bantu knots you cant be apart of the "CLUB" and I'm here to say that is not right! Besides it can't be self hate if your still wearing your real hair.. Everyday a client comes in my chair concerned on what their hair is considered, because their confused based on what stipulation the natural hair community says. Well I'm here to say, whether you wear a SILK PRESS, BRAIDS, WEAVE, AFRO, TWIST OUT, CROCHET, DREADS, LOCS, CORN-ROWS, HIGH LIGHTS, ETC.. You too are apart of the natural hair community despite what society has to say... As for my black men seeking the other side, thats a conversation for another day.. I can talk for HOURS on this subject but not today, its about hair.. Thank you for your comment 2pac's Spirit and for my natural babies do you !

Dazzling Jewel I disagree . Firstly that was not a fact it was an opinion. Just because YOU may think a certain style doesn't look good on someone does not mean others feel that way. It's not even about what others think ,if someone decides to wear a certain look and is confident about it nobody has that right to put someone else down. No other race on the planet does that shit.

2pac's Spirit actually it is true at the moment I’m a cosmetology student and the teach you when styling hair choose a style that best flatters you clients face shape, head shape and size, and their body shape. She is completely right certain styles don’t look good on everyone. I myself can attest to that I recently big chopped and I have a large round face and I don’t think my short fro looks that great sometimes but that doesn’t make me hate myself or my blackness I embrace it more. But if you really listen to her you can tell she’s being positive and not spreading this “self hate” so many people scream of.

Honey this is so true! Natural hair is not for everybody. Natural hair takes a LOT of work. And sometimes all of the experimenting you have to do in order to find things that work for your hair, can make it worse than better. People get tattoos, piercings, acrylic nails, all of that. But if someone were to say “stick with what God gave you. That’s not your natural you etc.” Then you’d have a problem with it. Leave these people who make decisions for themselves and not others alone. Her hair turned out beautifully!

I shaved my head 3 years ago due to a bad hair bleach done by my beautician. So my husband shaved my head but my hair before I went natural would never grow past my shoulders. 3 years later I relaxed my hair and I agree with you I relaxed my hair because I got tired of wearing same styles I never used heat on my natural hair. I did get blowout 1 time soon as I walked out side that silk press went bye bye!!! It completely went frizzy then by night it was curly no more body just stiff what a waste of 💰 I decided to relax my hair and it's the best decision I have made I now know how to care for my hair I only flat iron my hair 4 times a month and it's grown to my bra strap! It's even better before I went natural I think my hair needed a reset and it's continuing to grow I don't regret relaxing it wasn't for me but I'm blessed it's better for my sacrifice.

Miss Frog my hair have been growing I'm in beauty school and my instructor and I have been documenting my growth as well. Like I don't put heat on my hair but once a week if that but it can grow with a relaxer every one is different I'm living proof. Besides when I do relax I only leave on for 15 min I do not apply on the scalp at all that's what damage the hair follicle which causes hair to stop growing only if hair follicle is damaged.

I love how honest she is and how she shuts negative people down. I have alopecia and I have been researching wigs and somehow ended up here. I’m hooked now! I love her personality! I wish as a Caucasian woman could find a stylist so knowledgeable about wig installation. With alopecia I feel that a lot of my femininity is lost. I cry everyday working to hide all the bald spots and now have to wear my hair in pony tails to keep from too many spots showing. I use hair powder to hide the ones seen while in a pony tail. I hate how I look and my hair had always been a big security blanket for myself, but now I feel so exposed and struggle deeply when I have to leave my house. I won’t get out unless it is absolutely crucial. I hate myself this way.

lovey Exactly, they're crying over it, thats why Im saying shut up about it! Im natural but another natural will look at my hair & say "Well technically ur not natural cuz ur blonde" Riiight! And ummm make up has chemicals too in case u didn't know. It can cause your pores to be clogged, acne, sores, redness, breakouts! Same as a perm for hair! The "white man" has nothing to do with my statement, my whole point was, if ur natural cool but stop trying to point fingers about being who God intended when you're looking like what Revlon intended.
@urgunnaluvmeh
@urgunnaluvmeh 6 лет назад
lovey the origin or the reason why one uses perms or makeup doesn’t matter. She’s only speaking to people that are for being ALL natural. She’s saying if you’re someone who bashes other people for not being “fully/really natural”, then they should be “fully natural” before they speak too. But since you don’t like the example of makeup being used, fine. How about those natural Nazis use only all natural, earthly products for their hair too. Because they’re not natural because they use store bought hair products with chemicals (yes even those “natural products). Yeah, see how dumb that sounds?

urgunnaluvmeh 💯💯
@thatthingyouseeatthecorner5249
Amanda Simmons That’s kind of like comparing skin bleaching cream to lotion. Both have chemicals (as does everything) but one is obviously harsher. It’s pretty petty to say someone has to be all natural just because they have an opinion about what natural hair is. That being said, it’s not as if black/brown hair has been deemed ugly or unacceptable by society, and as long as the dye doesn’t affect your hair texture, I’d say you’re no different than any other natural.

I loved this! I’m a natural and I agree with you about not shaming other individuals about their personal hair choices! 5 years ago, when I did the big chop, my mother and I got into it incessantly about my hair. She’s been on that creamy crack for nearly 40 years lol and change is difficult for people. She finally had to understand that my hair is my own. Personally, I would never go back to relaxing because I have a really sensitive scalp and bad allergies ( I would suffer for a week after each retouch). Never stop sharing your light, love! 😍

I think the real test with permed hair is long-term maintenance and length retention. Having experienced perms for decades before deciding to go natural, I can't help but cringe a little bit when I see this process. Now, that was my experience and I'm not blaming any stylist. Going natural has released me of a lot of worries. My hair hasn't been this long since I was a little girl and mama did my hair. My permed hair was okay, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my natural tresses for its unique beauty. Honestly, I get so many stares. And then there are girls careening and stretching their necks looking for tracks and hidden lace fronts that it's comical. No judgement. Just sharing my experience with both camps. Great video!

My view: * Learn about natural hair it is ours and we are beautiful with it and it is possible to grow it long and beautiful with specific methods just for us * if you choose to do anything to it make sure you are mature enough and you know who can professionally keep it at it's best. I don't agree with relaxing our hair simply because it's not reversible or healthy no matter how we simplify and brush it off but It does look good on us then again what doesn't and it's a personal decision. Long or short we need to change the mindset of our hair not fitting us because there is no reasoning behind it, own it and make it beautiful...we've done greater things as a people. If we don't see it as beautiful, who will? We need to accept that our hair is different so it looks, feels and grows different and if we can't accept that then we are weak as a people to want acceptance but can't grant it to ourselves... It requires more and that should be something we are proud of no matter the state (relaxed or natural)

I think black women and even men get all bend outta shape about natural hair because blacks and our characteristics have been looked down upon as not being beautiful for so long people get bitter because they feel as if you don’t love yourself as you are with alterations. But hair is so flexible and versatility is our friend. You are allowed to change a hairstyle based on your mood job or whatever. It’s hair! It gets cut. It grows back! It’s not that serious to be fussing over someone else’s hair.

Ohh I love how long her hair is naturally. This has motivated me to go ahead and get extensions in to try to grow out my hair

I'm so tired of people saying being natural isn't for them. I love my natural hair.

As a white female I don't know nothing about weave or anything lol I just wanted to say you are beautiful and I don't wash my hair daily only once or twice a week and I don't but my sister does have super dry scalp so don't think Caucasian women or men don't know that struggle😊 and if they say it don't happen they are liars

This was such an informative video. To each their own the client knew what she wanted and got it done. She seems happy and that should be what matters!

Omg girl yes I’ve been thinking about relaxing my hair for a year now but I felt ashamed cuz I have a hard time loving my kinky coily natural hair I’m still going to explore in different hair styles but thank God I watched your video cuz I don’t feel as bad changing my own hair that nobody else takes care of except Me anyway...... “ I THOUGHT NATURAL HAIR COMMUNITY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SUPPORTING”

Lol I’ve been natural since like 2013 and never even realized it. I just didn’t have any chemicals on my hair, I used heat but no chemicals. It wasn’t till this year I started caring about what I was putting on my hair, products etc. I couldn’t imagine caring about what someone else chooses to do with their hair, never even crossed my mind.

I have had a relaxed hair for a very long time. My hair is half way down my back. I take vitamins and comb it twice a day. I have color in it and it is fine. A good video.

You just gained a new follower 🙌🏿🙌🏿 I love a real person in general especially when it comes to hair cause we know in the black Community ( Women) “The naturals” can be very judgmental about what you did with your hair like they helping you buy them products. P.s. I have been natural for almost 3 years
