Nature is brutal 

From 7 eggs, only 2 healthy chicks have survived. The first two owlets that hatched were able to out-compete the other babies for food; this led them to grow bigger and stronger, which allowed them to further push the smaller owlets away during feeding time. The weaker owlets were either eaten by the mother or fed to the larger babies 😥
