What are some of the things you’ve heard that cause intestinal blockage?

I remember once I threw up a yellowish color and it had a type of iron feeling to it....it was weird because my stomach felt nauseous until I had to throw up

I worked in the E.D before I switched to the float pool (able to go wherever the hospital needs me.) A guy swallowed a bone from a chicken wing and got caught in the bowels. Another one was a patient from prison who had hernia surgery many years ago, who swallowed a sewing needle and perforated his bowels. 2 weeks earlier, they swallowed batteries and had to be surgically removed. 2 words: holy shit

I’ve been chronic for 7 years. Just finished a horrible 15 hour vomiting episode of yellow bile. I would trade a house for the remedy….

Colorectal abscesses can also cause blockages. Swelling and pain can prevent you from being able to successfully pass stool and cause a backup in the digestive track leading to a swollen belly and nausea. At least that's what I've experienced. It's also not great for my Crohn's since it then leads to abdominal pain caused by the Crohn's and even more nausea. What makes it worse is that I can't take the biologic with an active infection and not taking the medication makes the problem worse.

Can you please do a video about children and teens with chronic constipation that leaded to years long encopresis? I would love to hear your information about it.

When I get a migraine, I am convinced that there some intestinal blockage going on. It has a very predictable pattern. A mild headache is triggered by a hypoglycaemic event, usually a late lunch. A couple of hours after lunch, this becomes a full blown migraine for about 4-6 hours with headache, nausea and throbbing of the head. Then I suddenly feel movement and relaxation in the gut usually accompanied by burping. At this point the migraine tappers off and I get ravenous. It’s as if something had been stopping the food from moving and suddenly when it does, things get back to normal. Interestingly, induced vomiting in the late stages of the migraine, or going for a run in the early stages also helps relieve the headache. When running there’s a lot of burping that happens as the migraine dissipates. I’d be grateful for any help on how to avoid this sort of migraine which seems to linked to the gut.

Metamucil without sufficient fluid. Surgeons at teaching hospital asked me to stop putting our elderly patients on it because no one was giving them adequate fluids with the Metamucil, and blockages occurred. So along with dieticians we in Geriatrics developed a prune paste that the hospital gave instead.

I’d love to see you let people know what to expect when getting endoscopy or colonoscopy. First time I had an ERCP it was really overwhelming. All these people coming at me, barking orders about what way they needed me laying etc. with no explanation.

I’d love to see a video about refeeding gut expectations for people w eating disorders. I’m recovering from bulimia and anorexia and god damn my gut is pissed and we’ll I don’t see much talk of what to expect and when I should go see a specialist.

How do I get a doctor to check for these blockages?

I had the gallbladder removal about 6 years ago, gastric sleeve done about 5 years ago. And then had a baby, (c-section) 3 years ago. Gained weight back. And now I throw up bile and phlegm and regurgitate my food every single day. Nothing helps, not even medication. What do you suggest?

My grandpa died from his intestines bursting. I really wish they would’ve paid more attention to him and the opioids they just gave him he already had constipation probably was the worst idea we figured this out after the fact. Hospital sent him home and unfortunately you can’t sue there should be some situations like when they send someone home and then they die from it give them a CAT scan something he had insurance.

felt like i almost died yesterday from smoking and drinking on an empty stomach, vomitted up bright green for and brown for an hour straight. i was almost unable to walk for some reason and got super lightt headed, definiitly didnt feel normal at all and im a seasoned drinker

Intussusception, though very rare in adults, is another one. I have Crohn's and have had it happen twice at my anastomosis site.

I had a transient Intussusception in my dejunal junal (sp). It was a one night thing with light nauseous, and dizzying feeling 5 years ago. Next AM it was okay after night in hospital. Camera pill and Ultrasound, week later. Nothing there. 5 yrs later in an MRI whilst having some GI issues. It showed. No classic symptoms. They calked it transient. Surgeons wanted to do exploratory surgery. I called mayo clinic, they said no need for surgery if not having the symptoms, and I had a double balloon Endoscopy.. they found nothing. Now adays I deal with bad constpation. I can feel pain in whst seems to be colon on right below rib. I get little feeling of discomfort on other side beow rib (intestinal area with the transient issue??)

I’ve been having this problem with my stomach it’s reoccurring so I eat and the moment I eat my food won’t pass and it get stuck right below my chest and when that happens so have a lot of gas’s and I burp a lot which leads to me throwing up and it happens for weeks

A friend of mine is a retired MRI tec and told me this story. A man presented to the er with severe pain/vomiting. Conventional scans revealed he had swallowed several metal objects. His pictures got floated around for a good bit. If a person has a blockage further down in their colon,say around the sigmoid,could this lead to megacolon?

hi guys, i just threw up yellow bile, this isn't the first time and i noticed it primarily happens when i do not have my medical weed in order to eat.. so when i have no appetite i physically, mentally cannot eat and get to the point after about three days of kind of fasting i start feeling absolutely terrible. so i think really this is my stupid brain messing with me because i genuinely love food i just feel addicted :/ i'm gonna stop smoking for the better

Not going to lie. I suffer from something similar to this. My intestines work really slow and I can't help that I eat too much and too fast. Plus may be lactose intolerant too. Bit I do know I've been hospitalized bc my intestines get inflamed and swell often and I always have a tummy ache. 🙃 And I have bad acid reflux. As of rn I'm ok but I'm always worried 😟

i hope you see this comment. i went to the er doctor after throwing up for over two years after eating and sometimes drinking. especially if i eat and drink at same time. the doctor told me it was prolly because i smoke weed. so i stopped that. im still throwing up and its going past 3 years now. sometimes the throw up its like i dunno alot of spit i think its called water brash. but once i start throwing up if my stomach dont calm down i throw up all the food or drink also. even water. i dunno whats going on with me but its messing with my mind. i hope someone comments to this with some hope. thank you for reading

I’ve lost 79 pounds. I’m 5’9 and weigh 102 pounds. Eating is very painful. I’m a cancer patient with Polycythemia Vera and IC/pelvic floor dysfunction. I take a lot of medication that cause constipation so I have to take laxatives to have a BM. My recent CT scan showed blocked arteries from my stomach down to my bowels. I’m due to see a vascular surgeon next Tuesday. Why is this happening to me at the age of 51. I don’t drink alcohol, no caffeine, not a diabetic, no high blood pressure and certainly not over weight. When I do eat it’s not much. I get full very fast. I take nausea medication to help me eat among many other drugs. How did I get clogged arteries. I’m thankful the problem was found before my body kills me. Do you have any advice?

But its not confirmed wheter it is lymphoma or tuberculosis... We have even done laproscopic biopsy but not result.. For the last three she is having green vomitting..
