just from experience,take more time and make the extra effort do to a good job.remember,if it looks nice,its probably going to be ok.im just to anal about doing this and looking rough.puttting holes in the transom,gives water a very good place to infiltrate the transom.its just a matter of time that the water will makeits way in the transom.go back next yr.and check the seal around the exterior ,where it makes contact to the transom.hope your tab job does no harm.

I tend to agree. It took me probably an hour and a half to complete this job because I was being extremely cautious. Hoping my transom stays dry and solid.
