Day 23 of the FindUsCamping Crawl started off with a bit of a challenge as we left Gooseneck State Park. The makeshift road held up, and we were able to head to our next destination, LZJ Ranch's Hiawatha Hideout. This remote Harvest Hosts location did not disappoint with its stunning views.
Reflecting on our time at Gooseneck State Park, we fondly remembered exploring Mexican Hat and the iconic Forrest Gump stop. The magnificent scenery was unforgettable. Thank goodness the storm we encountered there wasn’t worse. Now loaded up and ready to move on, we looked forward to more adventures.
Arriving at LZJ Ranch, we were treated to more incredible landscapes. This Harvest Hosts site offered complete dry camping spots and a couple of electric sites, which were actually HipCamp locations graciously shared with us. The remote location and amazing views were perfect for unwinding and soaking in nature.
We took a nice walk towards the creek and came across some fascinating old relics, including an old water pump house and an intriguing outside shower. It was like stepping back in time and added a unique charm to our stay.
Unfortunately, we had to cut the evening short as another storm rolled in over the mountain. These storms sure know how to sneak up on you out here! Despite the weather, the experience was memorable, and we can't wait to see what adventures tomorrow will bring. Stay tuned for more exciting moments on our FindUsCamping Crawl!
