thanks for the info chaps... i would like to just say i thought there was a lot to take in there and i found it very hard to keep up... the top tips bits are were easy enough to follow but as for the other topics i think you could probably break each one of those down for a thirty minute video each.. but thanks all the same its a great help.

@ThailandBound

If you go to immigration by yourself it will cost you 1,900 Baht if you use an agent who will do it for you it will cost you around 5, 500. So basically you coming and get the 30-day stamp if you're from a country that allows that once you're here go see an agent and ask them to extend for a further 30 days

Hi Pete from a rather chilly Chiang Mai (down to 16C early morning). This was a great informative video - I’m sure very useful to many as circumstances change. Your guest really does know what he is talking about! Keep safe, cheers. 🍻

If I don't have specific plans to leave the country I am visiting, I just buy a refundable plane ticket out of the country, which I can show the immigration officer if they ask. After I pass through immigration I cancel the ticket and get my money back.

Planning a trip for 2 weeks but staying away from Bangkok. Going near pattaya and south of there. Are Thai banks best place to exchange baht?

Make sure you only exchange a TT booth in Pattaya you'll get the best rates

It's worth keeping a separate mobile phone for travelling. That way, if you lose it, it's not the end of the world. Also, one time, the guy in the phone shop didn't seat the Thai SIM properly (dual SIM phone), and I later found out that the local calls I'd been making were on my British number. That was expensive. On the legal side, you do need someone you can trust if you don't know any locals who can help.

Wish I had 2 mobiles has caused me big problems after getting mine stolen. Can't get into my online banking now because don't have my British sim card now and that is used to send a security code to you.

Good day. Regarding the passport, could I take a photo copy with me??
@ThailandBound

Yes normally this is acceptable as long as it's clear and you need a copy of the Visa page as well most people these days just take a photo on their phone this is normally sufficient for the police

Hi Peter, You mentioned before about the prices of cars being expensive in both brand new and second hand……..But I’ve never seen anyone mention anything about leasing ? Have you heard or seen any firms that do 3 or 4yr leases on cars ? Would be good to know then that way if you leave Thailand you don’t have the aggro of selling it on Thai eBay 🤣
@ThailandBound
@ThailandBound 9 месяцев назад
I don't think there's any yearly lease in here however I haven't looked into it I could be wrong but I know it's relatively easy to hire a car for a day or a week or a month or even longer so there's no reason you can't hire one long term

Alright I need to Bust some Myths for 2024. 1. While not every person in any hospital will speak English but 100% there enough employees who do + there's Google Translate 2. Airport (both) - all exchange booths charge ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH to exchange your money 3.

@@ThailandBound if you watch the video when you are speaking or asking questions. The guy constantly goes mhmm until you finish. It's rather interesting. Suppose that's how he processes and internalizes the conversation

I don't know if you've ever been interviewed but with someone puts you on the spot you sometimes need a few seconds to think about it there's nothing malicious or suspicious about how Peter speaks we haven't rehearsed the video and it was not scripted the questions I asked him were on the spot questions which he had to think about
@samw.6158
@samw.6158 9 месяцев назад
@ThailandBound no, I've never been interviewed. There's nothing bad about what he's doing, but it's the first time I'd witnessed it. I know some folks nod incessantly as they're interviewed. Think that's mostly in person, tho. Curious, is there a delay for others when interviewing like television?
@ThailandBound
@ThailandBound 9 месяцев назад
So basically what you're asking me is does a TV presenter or guest who gets paid hundreds of thousands of US dollars a show mimic what RU-vidrs do who don't earn any money or very little? To be honest I don't like to insult people but you're coming across as a little bit narcissistic

Good to know - once you obtain a Thai Retirement Visa, you still need to have a return ticket, going somewhere like to Cambodia or Vietnam. Just for your information, the US State Department provides a Passport Card that contains essential information from my Passport so I can carry this in my wallet and leave my Passport in my room.
@gibberingwreck9977

No if you have retirement visa you never need a return
@ThailandBound
@ThailandBound 9 месяцев назад
If you're on a retirement Visa you don't need return tickets. You just need to make sure you've got a multi-entry stamp in your passport

The passport card is not recognized and not accepted anywhere except Canada. Passport is a passport. For Thailand make copies of your passport, visa and entrance stamp; both paper and in your phone. It might help or not but better than nothing.

@mattlawrence7130
@mattlawrence7130 9 месяцев назад
I disagree. With the hot and humid weather in Thailand, carrying your passport all the time could destroy it because of being soaked with sweat.
