Wow! These rooms look awesome compared to the ones I stayed in! I didn’t have a microwave, and we had separated barracks (male in one building female in other) back in 2000
My boyfriend is in the San Diego location! and I wanted to give him some things but I really don’t know what to get him what are some essentials for living in those dorms so I can pack it for him
Quick question. When you rank up to E4, are you suppose to be relocated to a different room or do you remain where you were when you first arrived to your duty station?
Jenna Owens sorry for the late response, but if your in the barracks when you make E4 you can move to the petty officer barracks if there are available rooms. But at there are bases where E1-E4 have the same Exact room set up, so there’s no Perry officer barracks or E3 and below barracks there all the same.
Ever stop and ask or think why the military budget is so high and yet they give you guys substandard living conditions and equipment? Those should be high quality living.
@@KD-fp3qy lol..yeah hopefully some day but for now im just here to help you guys out. If you have any more questions do not hesitate to ask and let me know if you want me to make a certain video.
Damn, only 2 in each room? I'm in A School in pensacola right now and we have a smaller room with 3 sailors: a bunk bed plus a single bed. And cockroaches, haha. I just got orders for NASNI in coronado, I can't wait to go there!
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 I was in the Navy during the '90s, then rejoined in December 2000, and I had to spend my first month at TSC Great Lakes before going to "A" School in Maryland. Yea, it was all about living with the heavy 1960s metal furniture and old striped mattresses. While there, I came up with a brilliant idea to avoid both quarterdeck duty and barracks-cleaning duties: I started shoveling snow. Since nobody else wanted to do it, everyone left me alone in exchange for me going out and shoveling snow out of the back sidewalk/smoke area and some of the parking area (the quarterdeck sidewalk was the responsibility of those on duty). I went out multiple times a day, laid down salt crystals, and didn't mind it one bit!
I like how he says it isn't much. We had 4 to a room with one locker for storage, Community showers and toilets in the 80's. Most rooms had bunk beds just to have more room.. No dresser, no fridge, no closet and no microwave. Yiu wanted furniture,, you paid for it yourself. These are luxury rooms compared to what I lived in.
I always wondered how the inside of these dorms looked. Im a California native and work on base. I used to go to that side of the base to work out at the Olde Gym and Admiral Gym.
The Navy has come a long way in Barracks comforts since the mid seventies. The time I was in, there were four Bunks and steel lockers. A small table and steel chairs. The showers and toilets were down the hall.
Joe Sanders yes it is nice but every barracks is different some look a lot better and there are some barracks that look worse. It all depends on what base you go too.
Is the section leader like RPOC/AROC? can you rank up from being a Yeoman? I’m shy but I also want to get out of my shell while maintaining a job in bootcamp. And was the initial word knowledge test hard, would you recommend mainly studying certain sections of the START guide in order to pass that test to rank up ?
No section leard was different we had 6 section leaders idk if they all made rank but some did if you lasted the whole time in bootcamp. Yes YN made rank in bootcamp.
@@Loveyourlife_ As RPOC and AROC you will definitely make rank. Study the chain of command president vice president ect.. learn your 11 general orders, learn how to right face left face stand at attention.
Been Supporting Yo Page Since I Was In DEP, I Graduated Bootcamp Because Of Your Advice. I’m Currently At A-School I’ll Be There In Bout A Month.. Thanks For Everything Big Dog
Michael House oh shit I remember you. Congratulations you made it!!! Thank you for supporting my channel I really appreciate it. You a CS right? How was bootcamp was it difficult?
The Official Dave Harris LS & Bootcamp Has It’s Ups & Downs But It Really Wasn’t That Bad. If You Got Time Can You Make A Video Of San Diego For Me. I’m From The East Coast & My Sponser Hard To Reach
Yo dude back in late January I left for bootcamp. I posted a comment and you replied. I’m now a basically trained sailor about to head to Virginia on Saturday.
The Official Dave Harris Bootcamp was crazy intense starting off but once I adjusted it got a lot better. Yes your videos did help and I used what you told me. I’m out in Virginia now probably the same barracks as you had. It’s weird out here it’s not bootcamp but it still feels like it at times.
It all depends on what ship you go to and when the ship nexts deployment is. Ever ship is different. When i got out of A school it was 6 months until i went on my first deployment.
It really depends. Im stationed at Fort Bliss as an E-3 and we get out own rooms with a shared common area with your roommate. My experience in Korea however is similar to this.
Dam dude, never had to share room, in the Army. Our own room, camp humphrey, we have our own oven and stove top, fridgerator, microwave. Fuck!! You guys have a better bathroom though.
Not in this particular room but most barracks rooms do have desk just not this one idk why tho. You could always buy your own desk and put it in your room just an option.
Because all of our bases are near the water and there is always beaches near by or the city life. Other branches get stationed in the middle of nowhere or small towns.
@@theofficialdaveharris8794 Sorry, not you. Commentors. And the junior enlisted that are in A school constantly thinking a single barracks is a barrack. I don't know why but that bothers me.
TheLifeOfQuin in most military housing there’s a waiting list but if you go on Lincoln military housing.Com you can check to see how long different wait times are.
Brianna Harris learn the difference between a petty officer and chief. Remember your 11 general orders, sailors creed and navy core values verbatim. Also learn the chain of command from president down. Make sure you do a lot of push ups and sits up and run a lot before you go.
Today I had a dream on March 21, 2022. I ask for God to help me interpret the dream. In my dream I seen a American Military base where service members were training on ground and in the Air and a few civilians. I seen the American Service Members in the Air being threatened by another jet that isn’t an American jet. The American jet assume this was part of the training and wave an Orange flag to the Threat. Soon after 3 of the American service men were ejected from the training jet via parachute and landed where the other service men were training. After being welcomed and helped by the service members on ground. A white fighter plane which is not American slowly approached above the base and started to shoot from a distance. Soldiers were falling left and right. I ran inside the big building next to the training area. In the far left side something was causing the people to drop dead but it was a gas. I quickly realize that and went the opposite direction and covered my nose but started to get a minor burning feeling in my chest. The building was being shoot at from all direction except for one small bullet proof room enough to fit a few people but I was the only one who notice it. I played dead with blood of deceased bodies hoping help would come. One of the decease was a baby and her mother. My fellow brothers and sisters please be safe and put God first in everything. He will show us what we need to do. Thank you God for the dream please help your children.
The Official Dave Harris Thanks for the Sub bro✊🏾 I’m headed to Army OCS so I might upload my commissioning ceremony. E1 - E5 single Soldiers stay in the Baracks. They have one roommate, the sleeping area is private but they share a kitchen and common area.
Damn they changed when I was an E3 we slept in open bay Barricks. Even as an E4 and I was staff in Pensacola Florida we slept in bunkbeds three to a room.
I feel so spoiled being in the Air Force. Zero room inspections a room to yourself at any rank and some guys had their girlfriends living in their dorm room. I finally got to moved off base at E-5 but could've at E-4.
wow very nice... I was in from 85-89 and stationed at Mare Island and for our Special Boat Unit, we had rooms, but nothing even remotely close to this nice...
I have a Question I hope you answer but my question is during your contract do you deploy every year or is there rates where you don’t deploy that often
Xavier Kluttz it all depends on what ship you are on and how many times that ship deploys. My ship went on deployment every 3 years so if you on a ship for 5 years like me you might catch 2 deployments. There are some rates that don’t o out that much like master at arms, Seabee rates.
The Official Dave Harris Thanks Man But I’m striving to be a Seabee I love working with my hands I’m going back to my recruiter at the end of the month or early June
Xavier Kluttz make sure you go back and get the job you really want it will be worth it in the long long. Seabee will be perfect for you if you like working with your hands.
Cascade HyDRO the blue uniforms are type II and the green are type III. They are getting rid of the blue uniforms in October of 2019. The entire Navy will be switched over to October 2019
The Official Dave Harris that really sucks. I always thought the Navy had the best uniforms. I’m in the Airforce and it’s a joint base and I see a lot of sailors with the green and some with blue. I never understood the purpose of a green uniform when you’re the water based branch. Same with ABUs if we’re mostly sky based why wear sage green instead of grey or bluish grey like aircraft. But everything has purpose I guess. Thanks for the answer!
Cascade HyDRO yeah that’s one of the reasons I joined the navy was because of the blue Camo now they are going out of style..lol I don’t get it either they say change is a good thing but we shall see!! Thank you for watching tho.
Tanishia Mccoggle until you make E5 you will get BAH to move out in some places it’s E4. If you get married or have a child. You can move out whenever it depends on you but you will be paying out of pocket.
