Do you think cwt(ctn) is the best for enlisted deciding to do college during their contract/s. Since on shore the whole time I’m guessing “more free” time to work on school if u choose. Or am I wrong?

@@c4sare4kiddos really depends on the command but college is very doable especially since you’ll be land locked. Most do online but the credits you gain from certificates earned through navy can transfer into college. Idk if you’re a sailor yet but navycool is a good place to look for answers. If you’re gonna go for cyber it’ll be easier to get certs as well

@@kav4840 I signed for CTN about 3-4 weeks ago. Am waiting on a CTI contract to open up before I leave for RTC in January.

Did you get the job and what score you got and did you get your security clearance

I scored a 49 so I’m thinking of actually retaking it and going Air Force

@@V10_estate a lot of algebra & geometry & you get a score on each section depending on your career path it’ll determine the score if you google it it’ll show you the exact score you need in certain sections

It’s one of the hardest jobs to get you need a line score of AR/GS/MK=235 which means you need a 81

CTMs are the only other CTs that may have the knowledge base and/or skills to do CTN work. Outside of the CT rating, IT is the next closest thing.

@@dayzofreckoning5253Would you happen to know if it's possible to cross-rate from CTM to CTN? I don't know which part I didn't achieve a high enough score (maybe mechanical comprehension?) without currently qualifying for it on the ASVAB? CTN is my dream rate and was in school for the objective they perform. Maybe if I work hard enough as a CTN it's a possibility? I go to MEPS next week.

@@porixify2251 There are currently no opportunities to cross-rate in to CTN due to manning. Could always change in the future, but I wouldn't rely on it. Best bet is to get your scores up and try to join with a CTN contract, though you still have to make it through the school (lots of tests).

IT (information technology) is the closest thing to CTN... within the CT rates, the closest one's would probably be CTT, then maybe CTR

Yes. There's also other cyber jobs for officers that are more pure cyber security.
