Yes but you won't really be working with people, which is questionable. What I mean is, how do you have time for classes when you work starts at 0700 and ends "depending on rate" around 2000-2300. I knew a guy who took classes but he was rejected from his division and worked for another division. He was an MM and worked for LS rate because he caused problems. So like I said depending on your "job" will determine if you'll have time for classes. Books are better. Self learning and then there's a program called US MAPS. it's certificates and qualifications for the civilian world. It takes what you do day to day and gives you hours to qualify for that job when you're out of the military. Hope this info helps.

+Darci Marshall Thanks for the support :) Congrats! I don't personally know any LS's but usually I see them picking up parts, doing the inventory then distributing out what they get. Also, LS's can get stationed almost anywhere in the world.

There's wifi on ships when they are in port but out to sea no. We do get internet connection from time to time but only on desktops.

Im an MM in the Navy and in charge of such a job. There's these things called evaporators and they have chambers below atmospheric pressure to decrease boiling point of water increasing speed in which it is "cleaned". They have to boil off all the excess (brine) it's the waste from boiling sea water. You can Google the contents but essentially it looks like sludge. Depending on the gallons per hour it makes. Um the reason for a water shortage could range from a tank leaking or garbage disposals leaking by, which means a solenoid valve (electrically automated) doesn't shut, causing excessive water loss. Also leak in hot water heater coils cause potable water to contaminate steam and if they reclaim the steam condensation they have to purify it that much more. Which is why you should always do your preventative maintenance. To prevent casualties on equipment, or extra work.

I joined in September as well! I set out to travel so when I get vacation or we pull into ports I'm in a different country. Some people are to scared or think they need to save year round that they don't get out there. You make your military experience. Good luck with bootcamp.

AO2 here.... yes we deploy when you're on Sea duty... our sea duty is 5 years... you'll probably deploy 2 out of those 5... for up to 6-9 months... when you're on land during sea duty we go on a couple detachments to different bases for training purposes ( if you're with a squadron)... if you're attached to a ship you go whenever that ship goes out... it all depends on your orders...we travel a lot. No you dont

Depends on your ship. You'll have internet on the computer but some high bandwidth websites will be blocked. Pulling into port you'll regain service, though you're not authorized to use your cellphone because it's a security risk. Also it can get confiscated or you can get written up for it.
