The average Navy Seal carries gear weighing up to 75 pounds. Man down? Add another 180 pounds. Now climb over a ten foot wall. Yeah. Core Strength is important. Take your workout to the next level. www.Navy.com/seals
These workouts posted here will definitely help anyone whose applying for BUDS. DO THEM ALL AND MORE! Remember, the only easy day was yesterday. Navy Seal Seal Team 2
a solid workout. 20 minutes of that seems long, but then these guys are Seals. One comment he didn't make on form is how the bar is actually behing the head at the bottom of the overhead squats. They require good shoulder mobility.
This Dave Castro seems like a smart fella! He should make a fitness test to see who could possibly be the fittest man and woman on earth, feel like he could do that
Wow, these instructional videos are great! I love not only the common sense present regarding the avoidance of injuries, but also the realization that not everyone has access to such equipment. Thanks for making these videos, gentlemen!
My basic training company commander ( a Machinist Mate) used to say, "I PT with the SEALS!" Translation: jogging, jumping jacks, and pushups on the pavement in jogging shoes. He was a PT-machine though. Haze Grey And Underway. Not just a job. An adventure.
@Dorkster81 You're giving alot of good advice to people who will try to be SEALs. Alot of people simply don't understand the level of mental toughness, focus, and lack of freedom to live their future in the way they want that is required by elite force military squads. Even in the regular army/navy/marines/coast guard you get leave of duty(vacation), sometimes good deployments, average work etc. Elite forces require your life, most likely you won't be able to hold a family together.
Awesome workout keep your shoulders down and relaxed to feel the complete benefits of a core workout. Most of the exercises you are using are a close relative to Pilates so remember you can double you benefits by breathing out during the push. Keep it up and you will have less back problems on your mission. Peace
You know at first I was like "5 overhead squats with a broomstick? Seems kind of easy". Then I see him with the weight and was like "Oh, never mind" lol. These SEAL workout videos are awesome. Stew Smith has some good stuff too.
my brothers an army airborne ranger and his work outs are sick and seals are like the same level as green berets i couldnt imagine doing half the stuff that he shows me so to picture what they do its stupid hard
@PolishGROM389 Thats awesome dude, power to you. I think its awesome when someone has a dream and goes for it. I'm going to BUD/S myself after boot and I think I can do it out of my confidence cause I'm that type of person to be over confident with things I wanna do. Good luck man, hope to see you there.
YESSSS WRESTLING IS LIFE THE REST IS JUST DETAILS! The only athletes that can compare to SEALS in terms of physical fitness and mental toughness is WRESTLERS

This is really good workout to get injury of backbone...
Amazing ROM he has. Couldn't do overhead squats without any kind of levelled heel like in WL shoes - only met one in person who could do that before. Then again, my ankles are pretty much as stiff as they can be.
Those ab works outs you'll be smart to use the AB lounge. A lot of people think the AB lounge is crap but AB lounge does work really really good. The only problem I have with the AB lounge is the side exercises on it are not the best so you'll probably have to find something for that.
Dive Phase Evolution- Treading Water for 5x with Twin-80 load out. Glute Ham Developer is essential. Not West-Side Barbell & Bird-Dogs on the grinder. Regards.
KruNae, only an arrogant or unintelligent person would assume that things that you find on youtube are the entire basis of what the Seals are. Everything else is highly classified. Good luck to any olympian who attempts Seals. It takes more than self glory or achievement for the sake of the self to get through.
I admire each and every one of you bastards in the Navy SEALs and armed forces. If you're at a bar and mention that to me, the bears are on me alll night ;)
i'm slightly confused, cuz I could have sworn that some other fitness dude said at some point that not keeping your legs bent during a situp puts strain on your back
actually here's a nice tip for all you guys who want to do endurance. start with 20 push ups and start adding just 1 more each day, that just 1 more slightly increase your strenght and endurance each time you do it, I started with 20, now I do 90 a day, without rest, tommorow 91. try it, and if you stick to it you'll be even better at this than a seal!
I agree with jgajewsky. Idk where people got this tier 1 tier 2 tier 3 stuff. Probably from video games like medal of honor. But yea the point is seals are tough as shit. Sure u can say ur strong and can lift a lot of weight and all that. But when it comes to a real situation it probably won't matter. Strength and endurance are what make seals. Not oversized muscles and show offs.
Despite strength is great, keep in mind anyone going for seals that endurance is least %70 of it. Most things are power to body weight proportional and muscles are heavy. thats more that ya have to carry in the long run. the're are very few occasions were the big muscle guys make it but it's rare. notice these guys don't appear as humongous sized body-builders though they are strong considering their body-weight
@the1holysaint im going to try to do this? nah but im serious i agree with you but this is probably the easy stuff that the SEALs do i know theres thougher stuff than this in BUD/S, like me i am going to do my best to acomplish my dream of being a SEAL as i visited a recruiter today learnign more about the navy and my dream :)
It goes with the territory. In combat situations theres a strong chance they'll get injured. Training attempts to simulate that. Can they keep going through the pain? or will they leave because they hurt a muscle? The people that block out the pain and keep going are the type of people they want.
@JayPull85 Actually sorry to burst your bubble, but according to what Navy SEALS have said, G.I. Jane is one of the most accurate depictions of elite forces training and preparation.
Nope, I'm definitely not an expert nor have I been to BUD/S. But I have met and spoken with Stew Smith and David Goggins among various other SEALs about the physical requirements needed for BUD/S. I'm guessing they know their shit.
The only time they get only four hours of sleep is hell week, everything else is normal, and they can get off on weekends, thats why hell week is so tough. But they do go through cold swimming sessions.
I'm a citizen planning on joining the military. I'm also a mother, and I've got a good deal of common sense and decency. Wish I could say you've got some of that.
@THEZOOKEEPERR ost of them can run half marathons and or marathons can you do this? Many Ironman competitors actually fail the training because of the mental requirements. You may can do it, but when you start adding all the days together, and the fact your doing all this soaking wet in cold water EVERYDAY ALL DAY. It makes stuff mentally harder. Being wet shouldn't prohibit your performance, but your mind is going to be forcing you to quit. That's why BUD/s is so renowned. For making people quit
@the1holysaint i got six years im 17 cuz i want to go to college and i did visit the Naval recruiting center so i have many approaches to the BUD/s/SEALs and becoming an officer
Hello! Does anyone know the maker of the apparatus used for the glute/ham developer? That's a sturdy looking piece of equipment & I'd love to get one for my home. Anyone know the manufacturer? Thanks
@HermannTheGreat , heh thanks i wanted to join too, and kinda asked questions about different levels you can move up too. and i actually got lucky and met a few people who mad RANGER, or other types of levels i met a marine who was security at a club...(yes my first question was WHY YOU HERE?) anywho, he tried out of like combat instruct, they had 30 try outs and only 6 made it......and he and the 6 got broken bones while trying out =\ and thats COMBAT INSTRUCT X_x
@556pilot That is a common misconception, well i might say it is half truth. It is important to have both max effort strength and max rep endurance. example, the average power lifter is very strong but has very little conditioning. the average marathon runner has great conditioning but has very little strength. you would not want to train like either.
can someone explain what the difference between "stress" and "work" I always here "this puts stress here or there", but isn't that good. Doesn't that work you out.? You put stress on biceps for example to make them stronger. But no one uses the word stress, instead "work". You work on your biceps but you stress your joints. So what the difference, don't your joints get stronger with stress.
