What makes this case particularly disturbing is that three agencies - the Navy, the police and the sheriff - all were complicit in this and none of them caught the error. They say a lieutenant notes a concern but no one follows up on it. @@grondhero Any differences in the date of birth should have been a red flag to anyone paying attention. The birthdate information, if known, is always on the hard copy of the warrant, and it is always entered into the state and federal data base. Also, if known, height and weight are listed, along with any distinguishing marks and tattoos. Due diligence was definitely missing in this case. Either the training in this region is severely lacking, or they're hiring lazy people to do the job, which, giving the current anti-police bias prevalent these days, is a likely case. Good people aren't going to want to be treated like crap, so they're not going to apply, forcing departments to lower hiring standards, just to fill empty positions with warm bodies. It starts with defunding the cops, then the DAs and prosecutors start letting criminals slide on all sorts of criminal behavior, and the rapid decline of the quality of life begins, thus creating the progressive paradises we all see today in all these cities. So sad my name is Cooper and years ago I applied to do the census and came back as a felon. The police sent fingerprints that I paid for and yet it was never resolved. For 10 years previous to that I worked in Apartment buildings and had to have a federal background check to have access to pass keys. No one cares when they screw up and no one will fix it, I hope she gets her name cleared and an apology. How awful for a new mom and her family God belss the whole family.

Also did the person that was to be arrested not have an image in the arrest warrant and a DOB? THAT SHOULD ALWAYS BE INCLUDED. IF NOT LEGALLY INCLUDED IT SHOULD BE. The commanding officer should be checking as to why they arrested a person whose name did not match. Come on attorney's step up and represent her in this wrongful arrest.

Expungement of her record is paramount. She needs to get that off the databases or it will haunt her forever. Police start fitting the evidence at hand to the supposed crime instead of investigating and de-escalating. And the base police will say they are immune from being sued. There should be heads rolling at the base since they injured her. Wrong on so many levels.
