The caretaker is just so much fun. Re-incorporating the music later in the video is just terrific editing. Calling back to the intro clues the viewer into realizing that nutty things are happening on screen.
Hey LVD, just some friendly advice; you can still play MDFC cards on their land side if it gets exiled with Elite Spellbinder! I myself didn't realize you could do that until I saw a RU-vidr do it and I checked up the rulings on the MtG Gatherer.

There's just something wonderful about watching you "live the dream". Watching a youtuber I've come to associate with in depth analytical, mostly optimal, plays saying "I'll take 10 damage, I don't care." Probably my favourite of your videos so far.

This is a beautiful deck. Katilda addition is bloody brilliant!!!! The care taker was my first rare or better card from this set and I’m glad to see it getting some play in a solid deck!!!!
YES! This is the deck I've been waiting for since you did your card review. I tried my own brew and got to platinum, but this will hopefully push me to mythic :D
uh...he just said this aint great for ranked....piper is a big boy (4 mana) and easy target (dies to shock) and deck has nothing to protect it.... so... the dream wont happen often...
@@DUES_EX well I regularly get to mythic with mono green stompy or my goblins in historic, but I really wanted to make Avabruck Caretaker work at the high lvl. I can't stand control - pure control players don't understand what makes MTG fun.
@@clubibi I dunno have you ever countered someone's spell and then force them to discard the last two cards in their hand ... leaving them helpless to the planeswalker in play? I'd say that's pretty fun. Frustrating for you, but quite fun for me.
Best werewolf content out there hands down! You must have recorded this one into the hall of the mountain king to be this satisfying to watch ;) Despite being an aggro deck some decisions where interesting (on the 2 drops, and the counters/pump effects). GGs
Spellbinder says "play," not "cast," so you can play MDFC lands off of it :) Awesome video. Watched most of it even though this isn't even a style of deck I'd normally enjoy playing or watching.
I truly adore this video a lot, not only is Naya my favourite wedge, but you managed to make werewolves even cooler. What I truly loved the most was that final match and the music sync. You can hear it faintly in the background before piper comes in, then once he does, it becomes audible. Truly splendid.
Regarding board wipes, adding Laid to Rest and Wedding Crasher gives you some wipe protection, as you draw a card for each human or werewolf that dies respectively
Oooh, In the Hall of the Mountain King. This isn't the first time it has featured in the channel. I remember a game when you were fighting for several turns baiting a counterspell. Gotta find that one.
Awesome deck. I'm having problems with my werewolf one, but I got some tips from yours. I used only red and green, I'm also have a lot of red spells. Do you think is better have more creatures? Also, do you think this deck can match some more high level decks?
I like the low to the ground aggro version of Werewolves, but this bigger midrangey version looks super fun as well, I was hoping to see something like that soon

I opened 8 İxalan packs hoing to hit some rares perhaps even mythic dinosaurs for the Gishath dinosaur Tribal that I was inspired from your historic brawl video. Unfortunately no Dino was hit, I wish I've had opened standard packs perhaps I could have hit a few rares to bolster my standard decks alas great video. Looking for the crimson wov draft & tribal historic brawl videos take care.
Looks a lot like my werewolf deck. Only difference is I've got Blizzard Brawl, Snakeskin, ill-Tempered Loner, Weaver of Blossoms and Arlinn. Blizzard Brawl with Loner is a very strong combination, dealing the damage done to Loner from the creature fight to another target while keeping it safe. Snakeskin to keep Howlpack Piper safe, since she usually gets targeted by removal immediately. Weaver for ramp in case I don't grab a Piper. Arlinn provides much needed chumps or +1/+1 counters in day, and her night form has mana ramp or a 5/5 indestructible that can gain counters from Avabruck. Might switch out Weaver to grab Reckless Stormseeker for synergy with Huntmaster after seeing this video. I get a lot of the same game results, opponents exploding when it goes night if Avabruck is out. The best ways to counter this deck are cards like Meathook Massacre, sacrifice creature spells, fly and deathtouch.
Know i'm late to the party here but I've got a question to ask so when a creature is transformed what is its converted Mana value is it what's on the other side of the card or does that automatically become even? Asking because I run a lot of historic control and have to run extinction event due to blacks lack of non conditional board wipes at 4 mana.
Wow. I have been out of the MtG loop for a couple weeks now, and I'm pretty astounded that WotC just decided to print new Hexproof cards when they made some efforts in the past to 'fix' this pretty busted keyword (ward seemed a lot more balanced to me). Interesting..

the scary thing about howlpack piper is it can go out of wolf/wherewolf to be a hella value drop as well this guy in a simic ramp deck could drop Hullbreaker as early as turn 4 while leaving 2 mana to cast something.
I played something similar in Gruul, with the lonely hermit werewolf, cinderclasm and burn the house down as a combo to just win, 56% of the time, it worked every time. Got rekt by control and mono white nut draws.
Can't wait to start seeing what you do with Dollhouse of Horrors. Mono Black Magic has been having a lot of fun with it and it does seem very powerful/versatile
So, for us budget/free to play players what should we cut from this first? This deck is almost exclusively rare and mythic cards, so what is absolutely necessary for the deck to tick?
@@LegenVD ah, I figured that would be the case. I just went 7-1 in a draft where I got the caretaker and had such a blast playing her that I wanted to see if a constructed deck could make her work.
Going back and watching your old content, I’m shocked caretaker has fallen out of favor. It’s really an absurd curve topper in decks that care about 1/1 counters
It flips to night when a player casts no spells on their own turn. Piper's ability is an activated ability, not a spell, so you can use the ability to put two or more creatures onto the battlefield on your turn without casting any spells.
Hey Legend what do you think of a historic version of this deck including winota? werewolves will trigger its ability and creatures you'll find are always human that enters as werewolves instead. It seems fun to me! Always great videos from you!
Can't play Winota in Historic. I saw that in Pioneer, though. The Huntmaster is especially great to put in play with Winota, because you also get non-Human tokens to trigger Winota more next turn.
Just after clicking on this video I bought the discounted Crimson Vow pack on Arena and opened an Avabruck Caretaker. If that's not a sign i don't know what is.

Oof. I would love to play this deck, but that's a big chunk of rares and mythics and I just don't have enough wild cards to make it happen, lol. I'll just enjoy the video and keep farming until I can make a decent enough more budget-y version of it.
