At some point, we’ve all started on something small like a tinywhoop, but there eventually comes a time where you;ll want to upgrade to something bigger and faster. The most iconic and pretty much the standard in the FPV Hobby is a 5-inch drone. Now, there are a lot of drones in this segment, but time and time again, one name keeps coming up..And that’s the Nazgul line. So today we’re taking a look at the Nazgul5 V2 to see if it’s still the best choice for your 1st 5-inch drone. The nazgul5 features a strong true X frame with powerful motors, and a good tune. Furthermore, the drone is equipped with stickers and instruction to get the drone safely in the air. For more information, check out: bit.ly/37KnUfX

Nazgul5 V2 was my first 5-inch too (and still is!)! iFlight is great. I've bought the PNP version, and installed an ExpressLRS receiver. I've already made some upgrades: camera Foxeer T-Rex (best analog resolution and picture quality!) and Rush Tank Solo VTX (more than 1w power output). The iFlight VTX was horrible, even when setup with higher power output. I don't know with my unit was faulty, but I really didn't liked it.
@OneManUnmanned
@OneManUnmanned 2 года назад
Good to know..The ELRS feels buttery smooth and responsive in this drone. I've flown it only a few times, but the VTX is holding up. I might convert it in the near future though.

Hey man, great review as usual 👍. I've had the nazgul5 v2 for about 9 months now. The 4s version with elrs. It's my first and only 5" so far. So I don't have a lot to compare it to. I love it though. The only problem I've had is some of the screws seem a little short on the bottom and will strip out, so will the pressnuts. Some longer still screws and press nuts may be in your future. That happens to all aluminum hardware if you aren't very careful with it though. It flys Phenomenally however. I'm not a big van of the props it coms with that's personal preference though. I think the watermelon or the lemon lime props feel good on it to me or pb&j. Its plenty fast on 4s and the batteries are cheaper. That's also personal preference. I also put a rush tank vtx on mine. I've heard some not so great stuff about the succex vtx's out putting much lower than it says. I have trouble leaving anything stock. That's one of the great things about this hobby you can really costimize stuff. Enjoy your first 5" I know I have. I still love micros though.

Wow.. thanks for the insight and your experience on this drone. I will definitely keep that in consideration as I fly it. I really do think customization is one of the best aspects of the FPV hobby. I already had plans months ago to convert the VTX to DJI, but I might eventually do HDZero as I already have the parts for both systems. I agree with the added cost of 6s drones, but it sure is fun powering out of corners and dives with this thing. 😀

@@OneManUnmanned I've only flown a couple friends 6s I didn't really notice that much difference. Maybe I need more stick time with it. It really just a personal preference thing. Everyone I know swears by 6s. It should be real nice with the dji on it. Enjoy and keep up the good reviews 👌

Hey Man thanks for share this important info., I started the learning plan exactly as you did, more than a year ago bought the same Nazgul5 V2 directly to iFlight but mine is 4S version - Controller is SucceX-E F4 V2.1, same receiver RXSR_ACCST 2.1.0 and components except for the motors and did bind to my TX16S radio but I also like to upgrade to ELRS (have BetaFPV module), I have same HappyModel EP1 RX as you but I'm not sure how to connect it (wiring diagram) to the drone controller by using that same 4 pin Blue,Whtie,Red,Black included wire to just make the RX swap as you did made and like to confirm with you. Also like to let you know that I did figure how to install a HGLRC M80 Pro GPS to this Nazgul and made an image to share the connections diagram if you or anybody here need it. My Nazgul5 V2 is still new never flown before, I'm still learning to FPV with a whoop, and simulators. But upgraded with a GPS and placed a 4K squared RunCam5 Orange.
@OneManUnmanned
@OneManUnmanned 2 года назад
That’s awesome that you have a 5 inch while learning to fly FPV. ELRS was a well worth upgrade. I just followed the pin out in the included schematic sheet. The plug in setup makes for a clean build. I thought about adding GPS to the Nazgul, but have another drone I’m about to review with bulit-in GPS.

I've been thinking about the Evoque Deadcat version myself. I got into FPV about 4 months ago with the Cetus Pro. Last month, after a hundred something flights with the Cetus, I got the DJI FPV. So I have the DJI Goggles v2, but no GOOD radio.
@OneManUnmanned
@OneManUnmanned 2 года назад
Yes, the Evoque is also a great choice. How do you like the DJI FPV drone? There are pretty decent options for radios, but it depends on what form factor you prefer. If you’re looking for a Full-sized radio, the TX-16s MKII is a good choice. The Zorro is a good choice for game style controllers. If you’re looking for something mid-sized, the TX 12 is good.

@@OneManUnmanned I really love the DJI FPV, I’m definitely a bit hesitant when it comes to attempting freestyle with it. I love it for a mixture of DJI camera/freestyle, so I get some really BIG shots when I fly. I’ll do freestyle up in the air, like big power loops. Hence why I want to get into 5” where I can just fix anything. Thank you for your recommendations on RCs! I really appreciate it!

@OneManUnmanned
@OneManUnmanned 2 года назад
Hi Justain, because i- flight still makes the drone. I purchased this drone over a year ago when it was introduced to the market, but did not open the box till this week. I review every product, old or new to have a wide category of items/info on the channel. That's why most of my videos are in somewhat linked from one to the next. They all have a purpose especially for the consumer looking to make a purchase decision. If only reviewed new products, my Channel would only have limited content. Another reason is because products are not free..A Mark5 is an amazing drone, but can be optioned to about 500 dollars. If I bought every new product, I would be broke. It's also not the recommendation for a 1st time 5 inch drone(although it might fly well). Check the channel out next week, there is a newer product I'll be reviewing then. Thanks 😊.

Can you please list me what gear should I get with nazgul5 HD 6s version of the drone and everything I would need? Also should I get analog or digital(hd) version and is the drone itself worth 520$. My paycheck is 700$ so drone it self takes it away 🤣.
@OneManUnmanned
@OneManUnmanned Год назад
The Nazgul series is definitely worth the money. Digital will give you a cleaner and clearer image than Analog. If you decide to go analog, the cost to fly will be cheaper. You will need some goggles and a radio to fly your drone. You have the DJI Goggles V2, Goggles2, and Goggles Integra. They’re all good, but would recommend the Integra or Goggles 2 if your budget can afford it. The DJI Air unit/Vista does have a built-in receiver, and because of that, you could use a DJI transmitter(controller) to fly the drone. Many people also use third party transmitters such as Radio Master or Jumper to control and fly their drone. You’ll also need some 6s batteries and a charger to charge those batteries. It depends on the drone, but in my case, the receiver was powered by plugging into the computer USB port. Are your versions on the radio AND receiver the same. I had difficulty connecting to my radio because my receiver firmware was 2.1, but my radio was sub 2.0.

Any brand receiver should work, as long as it's the same frequency. 2.4g with 2.4g equipment and 900mhz with similar 900mhz transmitter. Most pilots choose a rx based on brand loyalty and size/form factor. If you're flying long range, an external antenna is a must. If you're flying relatively close, a ceramic antenna will do just fine. I'll leave a link to a total breakdown of RX choices and a few visits of me installing them. www.expresslrs.org/2.0/hardware/receiver-selection/ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hsyRAzHJCnY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pUhe3jKzduQ.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HOUFqs6iTAA.html

Butch, Bro... Why the hate? We've had this discussion in the past, so I'm not even going to reiterate. I don't buy products for views.. I'm just here to help potential buyers. If you watched the video, you would have heard that this was purchased over a year ago(I could have reviewed it then). Anyways, the point is it doesn't matter if you post a positive or negative comment. But, if you're going to post something negative make it constructive(how can I improve my videos)? My last few videos I got the same "love" from you with the same remarks, yet the biggest RU-vidr in FPV drops the same video a day later, but you're quiet then. Bro, you're the definition of a "troll". Low key, I think you want me to succeed, but you're going about it the wrong way. You do know engagement is the best way to help a creator(and you are doing that). That's the only reason I haven't deleted your comments or completely blocked you from the channel.
