The 2K13 review will drop in about 3 hours. I had to reupload this due to it being taken down, so if you could leave a like it'd help it get back where it was. Thanks. Mann this is when 2k was at its peak, no VC, no packs, just grinding and playing, I put more hours into 2k11 and 2k12, than I have with any of the newer 2k’s
The best 2k by far... No VC that you have too actually pay for, no paying for tattoos, no paying for gear... No paying for shit.. Just straight too the point real hoopers feel me..
@JACQUEZ JOHNSON 2k16 is actually not as good as 11 for a few reasons (of course my opinion) at release 2k16 was horrible, still right now, it feels too similar to 2k15 (ps4/xbox edition), pay to win, less game modes, its such a shame though, cause while 2k11 and 2k16 were good sports game, they still aren't good enough, its actually a shame i have to rate a sports game in 2 ways, as a sports game, and as a video game, quick example i would rate 2k11 a 9.0/10 compared to other sports game, but comparing it to video games in general, a 3.0/10, while 2k 16 would be a 8.5/10 sports game and a 2.5/10 video game in general, and the reason why is because sports game release yearly so it doesn't even look like much care his put in to it, theres no heart in it, when im playing it, i dont feel like the developers made the game because they want me to enjoy it, but rather they want me to spend as much money as possible (and i know the devs dont decide that) but still
Bro my first 2K was 2K12 and I didn’t even have it when it came out. I wanted a basketball game but my dad didn’t trust the newer, more expensive game, so he got 2K12 to see if I liked it. I’m so glad he did because I loved every single part of it. I still think it’s one of the best of all the 2Ks
man these old 2k games are something to look back on, no matter good or bad i dont ever think 2k can replicate the energy and love that they use to put into these games. Maybe nostalgia is talking but before vc, 2k was so different
Still come back and play 2k12 till this day. This game is the only 2k where I felt like I had "total control" of my player at all times. The signature moves for everyone was on another level. The best portrayals of any 2k. I love to see Wilt Chamberlain's and Rick Barry's underhand freethrow shots. Other players old and new sigs. This game also has the best defense hands down of any 2k. You had to play smart. Now playing with Zion and the pelicans from the UBR! More epic awesomeness!
I miss the greatest players thing. The vibe they recreated with the resolution or color of the camera during the game was perfect. It also gave those legendary players their deserved shine. I mean imagine if they kept updating this, like being able to remake Wilts 100 points game or other great historic matchups of teams and players etc, like Kobe who was 3-1 vs the Suns but this time you solo army win the game. Or Lebron solo vs the GS like last time, but you play the first game again that JR screwed up but you win.
2k12 was one of my favorites. I never had Xbox Live, so it was all about the offline play for me. The NBA legend mode was sick, and I personally think 2k12 had the last good soundtrack.
I believe sports games are the biggest reason current generation doesn't have backwards compatibility as previous generations did. 2k12 is better then 2k20 change my mind
Creating a legend needs to come back, sometimes I’d rather play as a rookie, an up and coming player or a former star and play out their career as opposed to my career. But 2K is all about the microtransactions now so we’ll never see it again
I’m telling y’all 2k12 was THE MOST SLEPT ON 2k... it was so good and underrated and you actually had to play smart instead of spamming the dribble stick. The only broken thing in the game was the Spin Dunk animation. It was basically unstoppable.
2K12 was the best 2K game, and I own all the games from 2K on the Dreamcast all the way to 2K17 on Xbox One (stopped playing the series after that game after I realize what garbage the series had become).
This game was really underrated. Just think about it, they took 2K11 For many people is considered the greatest 2K of all time and they built upon it with more modes better graphics, and one could argue a smoother gameplay. This game might be low-key the goat of 2K. Not to mention, the soundtrack is pretty solid as well.
2k12 when it first came out felt similar to 2k11. In the Jordan challenge it was like I wish I could go back in time again and but more in depth. 2k12 brought that and it brought back to life some of the underdogs and forgotten athletes this game has produced. Players like Muggsy Bouges, Penny Hardaway, Chris Jackson and etc. It was an exciting time because growing up we had to always create hella players. Creating Barkley and Reggie was nothing but imagine trying to create ALL the classic role players too. 2k did the retro community a favor and allowed us to finally see the “small” guys get love in nba 2k for the first time.
Yooo I have this game with disc for PS3 no scratches and the ball looks realistic with a needle on it and now I want to buy 2K11 for PS3 as well in Christmas
MrGNugget it was tough and no crossovers would work to get past them. Only thing that worked was the off hand sprint animation and that worked every time.
I still play 2k12 on my ps3 tbh since I haven't upgraded yet and I like it. I can't help but rage over the movement when it comes to dribbling tho because there was no possible way for you to actually go by your defender in 12 compared to what 2k13 and all the games after that did. I still rage over it but I like it anyway
2k14 was the last one I was playing. Still had the good animations and the good legends and has the good mod support still. 2k15 is where modding drops off and you get kind of a slower game with too much shooting and BS in it.
2k12 was and still is my favorite 2k game of all time. That 2k game was the game game that I put the most time and effort in, even after the launch of 2k13 I went right back to 12. An excellent soundtrack, amazing presentation and graphics, the mycareer was dope as hell (I wish they'd bring back skill points so it wouldn't be a play to win kinda game). 2k12 was just the best in my opinion
Omg I can't like this enough. It wasn't perfect but dam was it good. I don't even have time to go into how good it was. And they could have built upon it as a base moving forward and had true greatness.
2k11 2k12 2k9 2k10 NBA Live 09 Those are the top 5 basketball games ever in order Honorable mention : NBA Live 10 was perfect presentation wise but the gameplay was just too sub par
9:24 the reason was because since my players were on native hard drives instead of 2Ks server people could could just put there my player on there PC and make them a 99 and like 9 foot tall so 2K just decided to gut my player online until 2k13
2k12 was nice at the time! it improved a lot when it comes to features but it took a few steps back with gameplay I don't remember all the flaws, but everyone wanted to go back and play 2k11 besides the speed problem, the defense was too OP so you had a hard time getting to the basket and Post Hops were kinda OP, and fadeways were easy to make and in MyCareer, the way you earned your salary was "not fun". if you wanted to buy MJ's jump shot you had to play 2 seasons to be able to earn that amount of money those are some things that I remember.
2k12 was good? fuck that shit. you cant even play the my player mode properly. you cant even fucking move off ball because you always get stuck in a fucking bs animation. and oh, cpu's doesnt even get contact layup animations and everything they put in goes in even at allstar diff. but the best thing is that your bigs will refuse to pass you the ball and settle with a mid range stepback jumper instaed, with 14 seconds left on the shot clock. and also, 2k12 gives you a ball hog steve nash. 2k12, IS. FUCKING. GOLD.
I used to play 2k12 and didn't play again until 2k19 I was like wtf happened to the graphics??! They looked so much more realistic now they look to cartoonish..
Once 2k13 came out I either kept playing 2k12 or eventually just stopped playing 2k. I didn't really care for 2k14 or 15. And the only other 2k I played alot of was 2k18. Still 2k12 to me was the most entertaining
2K 12 was the best in my opinion because they did a lot of retro stuff for the Lakers the Chicago bulls the Boston Celtics the New York Knicks and so on...
If you want this game because of its features, this was the one to go to especially if you like historic NBA. If you want the gameplay of it, it's hard to go with this. Post defense is OP, hop steps are OP, somehow tall and slow centers can catch up to lightning quick players, and post fades are too easy despite the OP post defense. Not as bad as 2K18 later on but you had to rely on a good outside strategy because there was no way you could attack the hoop. The post controls were very nice though and you could spam Dirk if you used him right. This is one of the better 2Ks but 2K11 will always reign supreme.
2k11 is the best because of the draft combine imo, every other 2k sucked at that. Either its rookie showcase or some boring ass school and college games that require no skill to put up buckets. 2k11 draft combine was hard and enjoyable, u couldnt just put up 30 or 40 points unless u played 12min Qtrs. I would sometimes play draft combine all over again just because i used to get bored with nba matches.
I have the game it was my first 2k game. It's unbelievable nobody is talking about the broken My career mode. The draft was in alphabetical order each year, so Philly always have the first choice and Washington the last one. So no point to do this mode. 2k did nothing to patch that, unbealivable.
2k12 was my favorite on the ps3 and honestly I was hyped to see actual legends on they're respective teams and too somewhat play the game how it was with those legends showcase games how the courts were designed the game play presentation of each era definitely gave you somewhat of a different feel playing in the 60's till the year 2012 and for a fact I didn't really know about guys like Oscar Robertson Willis Reed Walt Frazier till I played 2k12
I've been playing this game lately and there were abilities before badges and I think it's bs to have a badge to make free throws or to have to have a post fade away ability when you have a 80 post shot I have a 3pt specialist missing open threes
I’m pretty sure that rookies from 2011 were only absent when the game first came out. There was an update later, after the lockout which added them in. I’m not sure it’s attainable on console anymore but the PC version has a popular unofficial patch which contains them.
