I remember when your MyPlayer would start off at a 40 overall and you had to actually grind to upgrade your player to a 99. Also Chris Smoove's parody of Amazing by Kanye West is a RU-vid gem that needs to be preserved.

We should also talk about the soundtracks of these 2ks as well. After hours of Association mode, those songs get stuck in your head. This game had a pretty solid collection.

As a side note: did y'all know that in old 2k's if you created a player before starting a my career, that player would actually be in the league with your my player. 2k didn't need to make our rivals for us back in the day.

I love the 2k insider and yes, you started in the 30s, but the grind was great in my memory. I WISH there'd be no story and just bball, maybe connections.

Bruh 2k10 was so fun to me as a kid. Maybe because it was easy. I played myplayer heavy and you can throw any pass towards the paint and not have it stolen. Pick and roll was so over powered.

Thank you for this. This was my Favorite MY Player. Simple and straight to the point. And Realistic!!!! Went to the D-league and everything. Got kick off the Spurs..... Then I took D. Fisher spot and got to play along side Kobe. Just that journey alone I'll never forget. They need to bring it back.

Another Great Vid Dom

This was one of my fav 2Ks. I used the Draft Combine pre-order feature and had a PG that used flirt with Pts/Reb/Stl triple doubles all the time and got him drafted in the first round. Skill points didn't jump that high when you tried to increase your stats in Draft Combine (idk why) and I was able to max out his quickness. So despite being a 42 ovr, I was able to get into the lane with ease once I got to the NBA. Eventually got him 90+ ovr and he was a monster. My only gripe with MyCareer in this game was the terrible substitution patterns and you would frequently find yourself going in and out of games with blowouts every time there was a dead ball.

2k10 was a classic, one of my favorite ones

Really hope you continue this series, still very interested on what you’ll say about 2K14 & 2K15. In my opinion it was probably the most weirdest era of NBA2K ever.

This was my damn game. Soundtrack killed it and myCareer hooked me ;)

I remember this was the first 2K I bought since 2K7, and I remember being impressed by it graphically because the uniforms didn't look plastic and off color a well as the difference in material (before the league switched to the Adidas jerseys the next season). I also took notice to how more realistic the player movement had gotten as well as the in game presentation. I didn't play MyPlayer until the 2K11 but I might give a whirl sometime for a throwback if I decide to skip 2K19.

do you remember draft combine for 2k10? you got to train your player before the draft (doing practices, scrimmages, etc) and then transfer them to 2k10 with extra SP. it was sick. Chris smoove has some old videos on it

This was the first 2K me and my friends started playing online together, looking back this game wasn't really all that but the memories of playing with the homies is what made this game for me. I recently went back to play it a couple weeks ago and I couldn't stomach more than 10 mins of it before I cut it off lol

I remember there being this weird glitch in the association mode where a player would get traded for another player,and then 2 days later,the exact same trade would happen,and the players would be back on the team they started with.Also,players (good players) would get traded 4-5 times a year.

Great video. I'm amazed how good nba 2k10 looks. It could hold up today if released as new. This is also the only year Mike Wang wasn't with 2k, he went to EA that year. For one year. I remember this game being very glitchy in the early release.

I played so much of this game. Even after I got 2K12, I still went back to this game for the soundtrack.

I remember doing the dribble/speed drill where you go through the cones and end with a layup or dunk, get the speed attribute as a reward, and take it off in the menus because it gave you the most skill points back, then you can upgrade other attributes! Good times ha

I had this game on the Wii and I played it with my brother all the time. I remember once the Tar Heels were playing Tennessee in basketball and seeing the live score update in a NBA was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

You can still practice in the 2KU section of Nba 2k18. But they did get rid of all the tutorials if I'm not mistaken

Just ordered this 💯💯💯 I didn't get on 2K until 2K11 so I missed this one but definitely remember when this dropped. After I got on 2K11 on PS2 I was hooked I attempted to steal my homeboy xbox 360 and 2K10 🤣 but I ended up putting it back lmao bro didn't use it anyway he had it boxed up and put away he definitely wouldn't have missed it with his rich ass.

I loved 2k10 I still play it from time to time I even updated the roster to today's roster instead of 2k18

What they need to do with my career is exactly what EA has done with the journey in FIFA and longshot in madden. Have a story mode career and have a plain my career with no story whatsoever and eliminate the micro transactions to improving your character.

This the only 2k I bought on both consoles ps2/xbox 360... great memories on both

You were able to download rosters in 2K12 I believe, I remember someone got the rookies in there before 2K cuz the lockout was still going on so 2K couldn’t add them at first. Only thing was the skin colors were off (like arms and body color didn’t match the head scan)

Now i dont even play mycareer since im never gonna spend a dollar in 2k so my 2k18 mycareer experience was horrible
