Some of the comments on this vid are complaining cause they expected a video on players switching teams That makes no sense for 2K Most players eventually switch teams, but only 4 happened on a cover year The rest were injuries or some other misfortune which makes a lot more sense for 2K because as you can see, that's happened almost every year

With Ben Wallace's cover curse, the Spurs routed the Pistons in the first 2 games in San Antonio. When the series shifted to Detroit, the Pistons routed the next 2 games as Ben & Rasheed Wallace hounded Duncan into giving his worst finals performance (20-14-2 with 2 blocks, but shooting just 40% from the field.) In game 5, the Spurs led by 2 with 10 seconds remaining. Rasheed Wallace was guarding Robert Horry, but left Horry to double team Man Ginobili. Horry promptly sank the game winning 3 to put the Spurs up 3-2. The Pistons won game 6, but it was too little too late, as game 7 would be in San Antonio. The Pistons lost game 7 and have yet to come close to winning another title since. Ben performed well in the series (10 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and almost 2 steals per game on 56.9% shooting). But if Rasheed Wallace didn't leave Robert Horry wide open, when he knew a 3 would win the game for the Spurs, the Pistons would have been repeat champions.

I was thinking about this today. 2k had a baseball game since 2005, and the Cover Athlete of MLB 2k11 was Ron Halladay and he died in a plane crash in 2017. Kobe retired in 2016 and was on the Legends cover for 2k17 released September 2016 in the same year. Four years later Kobe and Gianna died in a helicopter crash.

We gotta stop with that AI no talent b/s. Mutombo was an All Star in 2001 and 2002. He was the DPOY when they got to the Finals. Aaron McKie was the 6th Man of the Year in 2001. The Sixers were built the way they were to maximize the way Iverson played. He never did anything with another scorer/star. So Croce and Larry Brown were smart enough to surround him with defense first (and second with a few guys) role players that could help absorb the occasional 8 for 25 game AI would throw up because they kept teams in the 80's a lot.

THAT'S NOT THE 2K CURSE. The 2k curse is defined by the cover athlete leaving their team eventually. Let's see some examples... Allen Iverson was on the cover of 2k4 and was traded to the Nuggets in 2006 Ben Wallace was on the cover of 2k5 and went to the Bulls in 2006 Shaq was on 2k6 and 2k7 and was traded to Phoenix the next season 2k took a break from cursing people for a while, as it took 3 seasons for cp3 to get traded, 4 seasons for kg, kobe never changed teams, Jordan was on the cover for 2k11 and 12, and there were 3 cover athletes for 2k13 so it doesn't count LeBron was on 2k14 and went to Cleveland the next year KD is a snake 2k16 had 3 cover athetes (doesn't count) 2k17 was Pual George and was traded to OKC the next year 2k18 was Kyrie and he was traded before the season even started 2k19 is LeBron and he's been gone since July
