"This game allows for great on Ball D " ??? I'm def missing something .. the player movement in this game is sooo trash, they're literally 5 steps slow, cant turn or cut, or recover.. its just terrible off ball defensive movement

George Gutierrez look at how many of those online players are 2 Way archetypes. The game overall is trash. I’ve played it daily. It’s terrible. I love 2K because it’s the only basketball game that’s actually decent but online is just terrible. Which is why i stick to Mycareer games or MyLeague

Hey, did you notice, that you will have def. rebounds problem in a MyLeague game with this settings? For example i am playing with OKC- and i loose always the rebound battle...do you recommend only the switch rules 1-3 then?
Does the Clamps badge help me at all as a Center in my career? I have been contemplating trying it at Bronze to help against Stretch 4/5's or when a switch has occurred and have a smaller player in front of me.

Good Clip, but at first your setting hedge Center ist "Catch Hedge all" (Minute 2:14) and at last it is "Soft hedge". 😅 Soft hedge are the right settings? 🙈😅
I've found stay attached helps more with pick n fades. With stay attached on when u defend a guy like Dirk who can flat out shoot, the hedge man will stay with him if he fades. With stay attached you do become vulnerable to PnR rim runs from guys like Shaq Deandre Jordan Kevin Garnett or even Amare. I use catch hedge if the center Im guarding isnt a threat to shoot. If they are aPick n pop threat I use catch hedge also but stay attached on.
I agree. When I see a roller I simply use stay attach as a way to put by AI hedge defender at a good position to defend all slips. Once I know is a real PnR I manually control the hedge. Stay attach is best on C because it works to defending everything on its own Fade and slips. The only thing it doesn’t defend well is the drive pull up three but I can manually hedge for that
So are we supposed to even touch the settings with shrink the court and play physical and the transition defense? If so can you make a vid explaining those settings?
Question..I see some guys in the paint they just get the big man and they whait and it looks like the big man automatically contest the inside shots...while I am getting the rigth stick up to contest and everybody blows by me in the lay ups...so how to contest shots inside the paint effectively?
Any tips on off ball defense for MyPlayers especially with these players and cpu running off screens and fading 3’s? Pick dodger and flicking can only do so much

I just realized my defense help is glitching I turned on the arrow which shows you which player you have to look for and it just doesn’t work. I cleart my whole game and downloaded it again and still nothing
Hall of fame seems easier to beat this year. Is it just me Sam? I could barely ever get close to winning half the time. Now I'm winning. I think the blow bye animation is a big part of it

Sam - Should we ever touch the Defensive Adjustments available to us on the fly. Like "No Threes" "Stay at Home" "Straight Up" and "Crash Boards" "Run in Transition" "Play Physical" etc? My understanding of these are that they effectively alter the defensive settings you have suggested causing the defensive system to fall apart. Is this true? do they have any effect at all? If they do, could we get a video explaining when to use these?

It's a shame 2k doesn't do a better job explaining this stuff so, I and many others appreciate the work you do here. I'm getting roasted online by PG's driving baseline and now I'm certain it's because I have it set to No Threes.

Even with all of that because of your videos I am able to play on Hof and average 50 with a 87 sharp facil. I’ve tried different settings and people still score at will on me. Should I play more on ball or off ball on defense? I feel like I got something going on my offense but the defensive side is killing me
Great vid but none of the settings make any difference. My players act like they’re on ice skates and whenever i hold L2 they just get blown by. How are you meant to combat that? It’s impossible
Blowbys and screens are way too overpowered in this game. A good player who understands this can use fast point guards to exploit any defense in this game, including this one. Ja Morant, deaaron fox, derrick rose, james harden, dame lillard, john wall. All these pgs I listed are literally impossible to stay in front of without fouling or giving up the roll man. Switch defense or catch hedge it doesn’t matter. Go back to 2k19 defense and fix the damn game.
I agree i have a team mate who refuses to switch when screens happen just fights through screen and gets pooped on but expects me to just let the pg get an open shot and me grab boards so i say play side he says it dosent matter if he drop 19 its fine 🤔🤔🤔 when we play sides we start to put up a fight then falls apart because of hard headedness
Upstate Knicks Fan Doesn’t really matter man. Either way the defense is underpowered. If it were you, I would try my best to catch hedge or maybe even soft hedge the ball handler. Never let someone get open layups. Let their big man or shooters beat you. And stay consistent to your gameplan. Don’t change it up if you start losing because then you will only lose by more. Since it park though, switching probably is the way to go if we are being honest.
Counter that with someone lanky or has good defense with good speed. A great option is Eric Bledsoe or 2013-2014 CP3 they are a little short but have good defense clamps badge both gold I think and are fast.
Thanks! I’ve been trying out a few. 0 seems to allow a small crossover and blow by layups when I’m bodied up on Kyrie or Lowry. What about Pro stick Defence? Absolute and hold the right stick up?
Rockets. Capella can’t switch but Westbrook And Harden are VERY strong post defenders for guards and pj Tucker can guard 1-4 clean. You can hide Eric Gordon well this way too
