I just love how this game requires you to have a high dunk rating for contact dunks and it’s still a struggle. I specifically made a fast PF pure slasher, 95 driving dunk and I still get stopped in my tracks by little guards when going to the basket. 2nd year in a row
christiannevafold since this video I actually learned what the problem was. I never equipped the Slithery Finisher Badge. I thought that would make me avoid contact all together which was the opposite of what I wanted. I learned it helps you avoid contact prior to gathering and stops you from being pulled out of animations. Since equipping it I’ve been catching bodies left and right. It’s a game changer!
All i have to say is thanks bro you really put detail into this and im very impressed i suck at 2k but im going to practice this one and i just found you so im going to check out the other videos after i learn this one thanks again!
Thank you for the kind words always happy to help. I suggest take your time with my 2k21 tutorial playlist and I guarantee your skill level at this game will sky rocket.
You are not getting enough space before driving. If you do not have a speed boost, or quick first step, or momentum dribble, it's not going to be nearly as easy.
Can’t lie I got the same issue , with similar stats. I hop step pass the center but they never let me go up strong. I’m thinking it’s a fatigue thing. But I always see wing slashers dunk at will and I’m a PF with all the contact dunks 6’10 , 80 strength and I still can’t catch bodies lol !!! I should have made a stretch smh
I know I'm late, but I liked+subbed to bribe you into clarifying this for me 🤣 Is there a reason you use 8:30 for left-down and 4:30 for right-down? The opposite of 8:30 would be 3:30, both would be just under straight left or straight right. True down-left or down-right (or southwest/southeast) would be 7:30 for down-left and 4:30 for down-right. So should we be deflecting at a straight diagonal 45 degrees or 8:30/3:30 (closer to pure left or right)? The reason I ask is because one does the hop gather and one does a euro gather, they're very similar but is one better than the other?
You’re explaining it wrong when you say 10:30 or 8:30 , 4:30 etc… if you want to tell them diagonal to the left just say 7 o’clock . Diagonal to the right just say 5 o’clock Up and to the left = 10 o’clock Up and to the right = 2 o’clock
I’m at 87 paint beast and I can’t even dunk on a 66 paint beast (it just happen twice even w a 60 paint beast ) and I have contact dunks and badges already.. 2k bails people out so bad it’s not even funny at that point it’s not even the person holding the controller it’s the game.
Sam Pham NBA 2K21 Tips and Tutorials That’s what I thought. I’m surprised more people aren’t using this method considering the added benefit of not having to find a jump shot. Also.....if people suffer from delay in park, then the aiming method is so much easier too.
100% pro stick. Do not build habit of dunking with square you will miss the benefit of triggering specific dunking animations that works best for the situation you are in
Imagine your RS is a clock. 4:30 is diagonally down right 8:30 is diagonally down left. But make sure you do get it around to those spots otherwise you might get a euro step
@@ericamankwah3567 Because there's literally only 8 positions that the stick goes to. Left, right, up, down, 4:30, 7:30 (though he calls it 8:30), 10:30 and 2:30...
Contact dunks have various forms, you can have them without animations and you can have better ones with animations all based on the rating. Badges help either way, and since 2k tried to up the skill gap, now you have to have angles of attack as well as space to gather efficiently.
