That's the last one I played too lol. And probably will be another 7 years before I try one after this one tbh. It's fun but seems like its just one giant micro transaction now. Especially considering everything I spent money on will be useless in a year when the new one drops smh
As a casual offline user, this game defense mechanics are horrible and the pick n roll is the worse it has ever been in a long time even plays with multiple screens the defense fights through everything like nothing is there. The shooting meter is definitely broken in this game. It’s either green or trash. Nba 2k has turned into a glorified online pay to win experience which is really the only way you can enjoy this game by learning your myplayer.
I enjoy the game to a certain extent. I hate that every steal I attempt or my team attempts, the AI I mean is called for reaching. I means we seriously are 53 games into the season and as a team have 4 steals. I mean the AI should have more than that for sure by themselves, but as a team. that's insane.
Glad I'm not the only one who has noticed this. I stopped playing nba 2k after 2k16 and finally caved in and gave 2k23 a shot. I'm literally scared to even attempt to steal or even think about touching my box button (I'm on ps5). It just fouls every single time. Even when it wasn't a foul lol. I used to get a fair amount of steals, but now there might be one or 2 steals total in a game. And that'd between both teams. Not just me lol. It's stupid
I still play NBA LIVE but also play 2K I ended up waiting for 2K23 to hit PS+ for free and downloaded it about 2 Weeks ago and it's super fun I really like it
Cus having to play Dr disrecpt on a street court where the shot timing is changed definitely has anything to do with making it the nba🤡only fan bots who pay to win are supporting this trashbag franchise but tell the class again how you never made it out of high-school sports but yet your so good at 2k😂go sit on the bench with your to pay to win stats 🤡🖕
Me personally I always use the pick&roll . Easiest way to score and you don’t need to do to much thinking 😂. Plus most versatile and so efficient too. I always have above 60% goal percentage versus HOF level of difficulty 🤣. Not pretty but surely most effective way. In fact I use pick&roll 80% of my play in every single game that’s why I always hit 60% and above goal percentage. Sometimes 70% and above 🤣🤣. Easy to use especially when you have dominant big in your team like shaq, giannis, Kareem , Duncan , garnett , lebron etc . Defence tends to collapse if you have dominant big inside rolling then you have free shooter outside that’s why this tactic is so versatile. My go to play. You can pass easy layup or dunk( I always use lob before they made it hard in 23) or fade for those good shooting midrange/3 . So versatile and make the game easy to play. Try it.

i started playing nba again last played nab 2k18 which is still my fav but i tried nba 2k23 and cant even shoot anymore i miss all my 3 pointers so thanks for the tips. i suck so much i cant even play online. tho i get more progresivly better playing vs ai and black top.
Trust me when I say, turn off the meter, you get a boost, and then pick a team in each tier, stick with it, learn each shooters move, and that slight lag that’s inevitable because you’re playing online gets eliminated and you’re focusing more on releasing at the top of the shot, i seriously even shoot free throws without a meter, you WILL miss a lot of shots at first, and sometimes frequently, but in due time you will get comfortable like I did, now i suck with the meter but i get a slight boost and make more shots overall, because im not having to focus on releasing in a green window, just focusing on a fluid shot if that makes sense. They always say turn off the meter, and i was skeptical for a long time. And its kindve a flex too lol
Way too complicated, the average casual player has no chance. You have to watch videos just to make a build, and then its hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours to max out that build, just to find out it doesnt really fit your play style 😢
Don't really try to steal, never works consistently. When guarding someone, push up on ur right stick and your player will put their hands up and contest shots but will not allow the offensive player to draw a foul.

From what ive seen, a 2'20m rebounder Monster is the best for beginners, ur slow as fuck and coulnd't hit a midrange shoot even if u where alone but ur gonna have one of the strongest defenses in the league even with a 60 player, if u start in a team with fast people like Irving in the Dallas its pretty easy, rebound or block and pass to him, in rookie he scores almost a 100% every Game, going up drops but still gets a 80% more or less, if he stops and doesnt end the play with a counter u have time to catch up and start a team attack, and with people like Luka and Irving from mid and outside and a 2'20 Guy inside theres plenty of ways to make it Doing this i get around 1-1'2k of vc in the first season, and i play in normal not hall of fame or something like that, almost every game u get a triple double and 1 game out of 23-4 i got a 4 double with the blocks

Like actually dude I dominated the first game and was alright in the second one and thought damn maybe I'm good at this. I have been closing and opening the game again nonstop in the third game because I CAN'T MAKE A SINGLE SHOT.
