Actually, surprisingly enough there's a trend that I've been noticing with a lot of players who scored 50+ points in a game, and it's that the games are usually still relatively close for some reason. And it's not just this video either, I've seen multiple games where a player just goes off, and yet the other team still remains relatively close, or is sometimes even able to win. Like for example, that game where KD scored 54 against the Warriors back in 2014, the Warriors only lost by 6 points. And the Thunder were one of the best teams in the league that year, while the Warriors were still sitting somewhere around the 6th seed. My theory is that by having one person take enough shots to score 50+ points, it kinda takes away from the rest of the team. Basketball is a team game, and as amazing is it is to see a player go off like that, this just serves as an example of why hero ball really is never as good as playing the game like it's supposed to be played - as a team.
