Captain Kidd is my All time Point Guard. He should've won the 02 MVP, absolutely dominated by simply making his teammates better was blessed to be able to watch him in his prime

Jason Kidd was one of the reasons I've watched the NBA All-Stars. Competitive and very entertaining.

It's criminal that Kidd doesn't get talked about in the GOAT conversation of point guards. He's earned a spot at the table for that conversation. IDK if any player in NBA history has improved their shooting through their career as much as Jason Kidd did.

I think he usually makes top 5 lists for point guards.

Jason Kidd is the only one who gives Stockton enough credit.

Definitely in the discussion! He's also got a chip. So,not only does he have the stats he's got the hardware as well.

@@adriandavis7384Not the only one. Gary Payton does too. He even had Stockton induct him into the hall of fame.

If Kidd would've played his whole career with another top 40-50 player, he would've won multiple championships. He could've joined the Spurs the season after losing to them in the Finals, but respect to Kidd for not pulling a Durant and blazing his own path with Dirk in Dallas.

Not only did Jason Kidd experience more playoff success throughout his career than Steve Nash, but he was a more well-rounded player. He impacted games with his accurate passes and by involving his teammates. Kidd retired second all-time in NBA history in both assists and steals behind John Stockton. ESPN called him "one of the best passing and rebounding point guards in NBA history.

Jason Kidd is the rare example of being the best player on the team without being the top scorer.

Above all, he was a winner and made his teammates better. Basketball is and should be a team game. He had to be one of the best and effective point guards ever.

Jason kid was a legend because he named John Stockton correctly as the best point guard ever. So that's an amazing start. Except for that yeah he was great player as well

Jason's nemesis was that he wasn't a closer like Magic, Mamba or Jordan. He was great, but not on Magic or Bird's level.

I can’t believe how far down your list of outstanding point guards you had John Stockton. If memory serves me correctly, Kidd considered Stockton the best true point guard ever and cited Stockton’s unreachable assist record along with his steals record as evidence.

If you didn't watch a lot of Kidd games, then it would be hard to grasp how a guy could be the most dominant player on the court and only score 8-10 points. Kidd imposed his will on the game on both ends of the court. Kidd wasn't teamed up with another truly great player until the later part of his career with Dirk, and they still managed to win one of the best championships in NBA history. If Kidd could've played his whole career with Dirk and the Mavs, they would've hung several banners.
@MrFantastic23

Kidd was IMO the closest thing to magic. He was a big guard 6'4" and could dominate the game without even looking at the basket.
@nocturne311
@nocturne311 3 месяца назад
Kidd and Penny Hardaway, yeah. Kidd’s game was more like Magic’s though. He could dominate a game while scoring 8 points.
@MrFantastic23
@MrFantastic23 3 месяца назад
@@nocturne311 Penny was another big 6'7" so closer to magic height wise but overall style of play I think Kidd was truly a pass first PG. Like you said he would control the game and have just 8 points.

If you cannot score alongside Jason Kidd it's safe to assume that you cannot hit water if you fell off a boat. Aside from Larry Bird the smartest player I've ever seen.
